diy solar

Very new to solar but started purchasing items, not sure of the final specs of the whole system.

Here are the pics of her short trip, she had trouble getting used to the paddle vs. one pedal.

Thanks for the range updates / photos. I could easily recharge daily from my bank overnight and still have plenty of power left to run the house; or run it down during the week and bulk charge on the weekend.

Looks like a lot of the EUVs are currently in transit to local dealers.
Really considering trading my 19 silverado 1500 on an older 2500 diesel and picking up an E(U)V, it seems like a no brainer.
I'd save $8-10 / day in fuel depending how spirited my driving is.

She has improved here's the second trip, beating the lighting by a wide margin. For winter this will make a big difference for a daily vs the truck.

I just got back from Lowes, very steep hill exiting my road. Full acceleration from 20 to 45 and was able to hit 149kw usage before letting off. The regen is very good and even slight declines I was able to maintain speed and keep 2kw to 6kw coming in. It does have some torque steer and I really enjoy the acceleration. The lighting in comparison is just so fast but this will be a much better daily driver.

Lighting to get heat pumps, as using the heat greatly reduces range. It would well be worth it or waiting to see what Ram or Chevy final specs might be. For me its tempting to sell based on the specs but would rather wait for the other manufactures. Lots of recalls on the 2023 may increase the demand but unsure it that would translate to higher selling prices.

Here's how the banks are doing after more than a year of usage. All eve that were purchased from different sellers but are doing well.
Same settings for the entirety of the usage period.

Had not updated the solar assistant for some time. The backup worked, and will test it when I get the high endurance cards in. I will have to look into finding how it determines capacity.

I finished the pellet stove install and have been running it sparingly over the past few days.
Heat output is far beyond what I was expecting, it has 5 levels. Setting 3 is plain crazy and can raise
the heat from 74 to 83 in under an hour. I'm very happy with the outcome and takes a tremendous load
off the batteries at night. During the day with terrible conditions, we can still charge the batteries and keep the
house warm. I'm guessing we have used 35-40 pounds over the past 3 days. Level 1 will still warm the house and
pellet consumption is very low. My price per pallet of hardwood is 319.60.

How many pounds of pellets per pallet?
Cost per day, and how big a space is heated?

It is 2000 pounds per pallet, just under 1900sqf for the upstairs, I would estimate slightly lest than $2 per day at current consumption rates. But we have not had low teens or sub zero temps yet.

Seems reasonable.
Were only using it on cloudy days if charging is to low. When it is sunny I bump the upstairs heat to 79f in the morning and let it run till dusk and I run a couple of floor units simultaneously. This usually keeps the heat from coming on through the night.
Left over ash - does that go in the garden?
Only checked once and put that out front, it produces very little ash and no visible smoke from the pipe outside. They stated this does not put out to much heat via the pipes as a traditional wood stove. The outside pipes are cool to the touch and the insides are touchable on lv1.

Today was an all negative pv day and we had to run two loads of laundry. The pellet stove is turning out to be much better than I expected.
Amazing that so much heat can be produced from the very small pot they drop into.

I'm also very interested in the Ram Charger, it would meet all my local needs but fix the towing/winter issues on the lighting.

Considering the generator size I'm hoping they have something similar on the back to my Lighting Pro power outlets. I love the outlets and use them often but the Ram might be used as a bank charger as well.

The Cybertruck will apparently have a 50A outlet. Perfect for bigger loads.

Elon's talk on the Cybertruck was very interesting and how hard it would be to become cash flow positive. I wonder what the actual price will be for them? They are claiming the Ramcharger will be starting at 60k.
