So, I am going through Will's beginner videos trying to learn about solar. I don't know if I missed his explanation of this or if I'm just not comprehending.

I am looking into the EG4 6000xp. He stated in his video review that it requires a minimum of 120v dc to operate. I'm assuming that has to do with the output of your solar array, correct?

Will someone please explain to me the calculation I use to determine how many solar panels I would need within their given wattages? So, if using let's say, 250W (or 100W) panels, how do I calculate how many of those I would need?

I'm certain he's gone over this in his beginner videos but for some reason, I'm not catching it.

Thanks.

yes that's correct

you look at the specs of the solar panel, listed as VOC (voltage; open circuit) and multiply that to get the array voltage needed.

eg, 3*45v = 135v
