Docan 300Ah complete battery $400 - Is this good?

Are you building a 12v system?

I don't like the color of Windynation's copper

I agree that's what I think of when I see darker copper. @12VoltInstalls may be right that it's the rubber jacket of the windynation wire that is breathable and allowing the oxidation. I'm not gonna be using these wires anymore so I won't bother wire brushing them and making a mess of copper dust.

    Freezer not getting cold enough

The Inkbird is the obvious suspect. Freezers and their control logic expect to be powered 24/7.

Inverter off. Can inverter capacitors still shock you?

Oh I use the lightbulb to drain + and - on the battery terminals. I don't think my inverter would let anything out the AC side when it's off. But I've never tried.

Inverter off. Can inverter capacitors still shock you?

    Yup, works good on mine.

Inverter off. Can inverter capacitors still shock you?

On my XW yes, the caps will shock you with 48V.

    Windy Nation

I like the Temco PV wire. But I only use it at the array. THHN in conduit for the rest of it.

    Ordering MB31 or the lf280k?

I hadn't heard that about the V3 but idk.

    Ordering MB31 or the lf280k?

280 V3 with the octagon terminal is good, but I haven't really followed the MB30/31 news.

Very low mains voltage with hybrid inverter. Would it work to correct it?

That would concern me for a different reason... That my dentist might be eruopean.

Very low mains voltage with hybrid inverter. Would it work to correct it?

I would be concerned if my dentist was running on an inverter and it wasn't a Schneider XW.

    Unintended ground rod

Pools are another one that creates second earthing points. Don't worry about it, just make one intentional grounding point. The electrons will respect the intentionality and go there.

I thought it was a year after applications and the window is closed now.

USA China Lithium Battery and Battery Parts Tariff to increase from 7.5% to 25% (in 2026?)

Good catch! I missed that. Not even a tariff increase for us now. Unless our cells get automatically considered EV batteries or something. I could see that being true where they mean like power tool batteries get the tariff in 2026 but big Lifepo4 cells are already considered an "EV type" battery.

Shunt trip breaker XW Pro grid ideas?

Or wait, just manually disqualify grid? It already has contactors in the XW for this. No need to duplicate the functionality.

Shunt trip breaker XW Pro grid ideas?

I just use an AC contactor.

    Peak vs. continuous power (Enphase)

It's 8 watts. That's just like margin of error, or they're running cooler than their rated conditions range, or whatever. Not a mystery to track down.

mutliplus-II grounding question , static system

You should have a main AC breaker panel and that's where neutral and ground are bonded and where the ground rod is connected. Inverter gets grounded to the main panel.

Class T fuse holder termination - I think I screwed up.

Yeah I would change to a bolt lug holder.

Using nema 10-50 connector with single phase for Tesla charging?

Twice the cost of what? An AIMS 120v or something? So out of spec wiring of a 120v hot and neutral to the hot plugs of a 10-50? And expect it to draw 35 amps at 120v? I doubt that will work. I just don't understand what you're trying to avoid or save here. Please provide some comparison...

Using nema 10-50 connector with single phase for Tesla charging?

240v 30 amps and 120v 60 amps is the same amount of power.

    Signature Solar Supply Store...a prototype??

I like that Signature is doubling down on receiving in person customers. Would be cool to see a Sacramento, Stockton, or Modesto location some day. I mean even closer would be better, but central valley is cheaper and sits between all the mountain off gridders.

Signature solar is cheapest in the US, not sure if you can order direct from there.

    Stacked Rosies

Awesome. Probably someday for me then. But I won't really have a good excuse for it until my XW dies and that could be a while.

    Stacked Rosies

Fantastic! Thank you. How are the fans at 1-2kW load? I'm sure they modulate, but down to just pretty quiet or very quiet?

How hot can exterior metal conduit get?

Did you do a derating calculation?
  30. hwy17

How hot can exterior metal conduit get?

    I think maybe when you derate you get to replace a 1.25 so instead of x 1.25 x 1.25 = 1.56x it's x derate x 1.25 = ampacity required. But not positive about that.

How hot can exterior metal conduit get?

The NEC has derating calcs for environmental temperature, and somebody maintains an industry database for what temp to use for different areas. It's like a copper association or something.

What batteries are people using that have the EG4 6000XP?

Warranty and technical support add significant cost.
  35. hwy17

    EG4 purchase

I wouldn't worry about it. Signature isn't Amazon it's not satisfaction guaranteed with free shipping both ways but they're real, not a scam, and I believe they do try to figure out how to handle this stuff fairly in a business where user error is the norm. And if you do have a problem, you can...
