Xuba Electronics: DEAL - 280AH LiFePo4 cells. Purchase & Review

The good thing is that our XUBA batteries have gone from 60 days deliver to about 40 .... of course it took almost as long to unwrap these things .... The BUSBARS though are simply terrible ... I have not done a test on them but the aluminum that they wrapped my taco's in today was thicker ... pretty disappointed in that ...

Anyone else notice that the electrolyte is quite audibly sloshing around if you rotate the cell around?

Just ordered Qty. 12 - 280Ah $1430.04 USD with busbars from Amy at Shenzhen Xuba Electronic Trading Co. LTD. I have been back and forth with Amy for over a month now before deciding to make the purchase. I will keep you all posted on when they arrive and how the testing goes.
Ordered 6/13/20 - Received 08/03/2020
Packaging was very good - no damage.

I would move the + or - of the charger to the opposite side of the pack, especially since it's a very long string of cells ;)

Liquid in the cell has been discussed before and is normal for some cells manufacturers. It's probably not electrolyte even if we're not sure what it is (can be mineral oil for cooling, can be a a result from a manufacturing process, ...).

Ordered 6/1 arrived 8/4; 2-Cells per box very well packed. A couple of the cardboard boxes had tears from transport but no damage to cells. I am super impressed with the packaging. Not sure if other suppliers package as well, but I am glad I paid a little more for the convenience of working with Amy and the quality of the packing. Now the fun begins...

I thought I read that the busbars that Xuba ships are rated for 300 amps. Given that the cells are 280 amp, 300 is close.

The bars that came with mine are 15mm wide, 2mm thickness. Based on a quick review of tables online 150A for single bar looks to be in the right ball park.

It may help to cite the source(s) of your formula. Not saying that I question what you came up with, just that others may want to know how you came up with those numbers.

Googled busbar ampacity and chose a table that included bars 15mm x 2mm. Tables are only approximate but get you in the ball park.

I keep reading on this thread opinions as to whether these are A cells or B cells. Is there a standard for A and B cells, or is this a subjective evaluation. Do B cells last as long as A cells?

I have just finished negotiating with a dozen vendors on Alibaba. 11 said they are selling A cells. The other one said that A cells can not be purchased for anywhere near the prices that these are being sold at. He said that what he has, at around the same price as the other vendors are selling what are supposed to be A cells, are A- cells.
He said that his A- cells are exactly the same quality as the A cells, with the exception that they will only be 279ah instead of 280ah.
Now, Craig has been balancing and testing these cells and reselling them, and I believe that all of his cells have tested out at 280ah or more.
So.....who knows :)

I doubt this is a real designation. No one has a specification for what those letters mean. There's no standard.

People keep using those terms in this forum, but you might as well just get out a magic 8-ball and let it tell you.

It's like calling things #1 thru #10. The grading is all in their own mind.

The 1-10 thing isn't universal either ..... Do not go to Bangkok and tell a girl she is a 10. It is one of the worst verbal insults there.

Roger that. My scale comes from the Vietnam War era and "you #1, GI". So it depends on the context it's used in.
Just like today some use DINK, "Dual Income, No Kids".
It had a completely different meaning back then and was very derogatory.
I cringe when I hear/read someone say the acronym.

Subjective and marketing BS. No standard, and sellers will say whatever they think will make you buy them.

I give it no weight and only go by what other people say who have already bought cells from them.
