New Daly "Smart" BMS w/ Communication. (80-250A)

Thank you! I checked again and my Multimeter says 2.98V between the Pins. This is what my terminals look like:

Really strange - how many different versions are there?

I checked between the two pins in the middle on second picture. Right terminal says "PC" on chinese :)

drneis, My BMS board is slightly different than yours. 4S 12v DALY 120BMS . I have 3 ports on the side where my PC usb wire plugs into, ( 3 Chinese charactors ) . Wondering if any of the 2 port connectors on either side of that port may be my J5 trigger port to wake BT?

Anyone with a link to the owners manual?
For my 200A 4S Bluetooth BMS, the "owners manual" (gotta put it in quotes) is a single sheet of paper, printed front and back, with the documented example being a 40A 13S non-BT model. It's incredibly weak, very close to useless. On my BMS there are 7 I/O ports, 3 on each long side and 1 on the same short side between B- and P-. Only 3 out of the 7 ports are labeled, NTC (3-pin), UART (6-pin), and Monitor (3-pin). Here's what I gather: NTC is where I plug in the temperature probe, UART is for the BT module, the battery balancing leads plug into the unlabeled (5-pin, because it's 4S) port on the short side between B- and P- The Bluetooth module, shipped separately from the Daly store on AliExpress, has a micro USB connection and came with two cables, one microUSB to 4-pin and one microUSB to 6-pin. I'll use the 6-pin one and plug it into UART because there isn't a 4-pin connector on the BMS. The BMS itself came with a cable that is USB on one end and a 3-pin connector on the other end that's labeled Monitor. Maybe it's meant to connect to a computer or a Daly LCD screen, I don't know, but I don't think I can use it.

My LiFePO4 cells aren't here yet. This is just how I think I'll connect it when they arrive.

Here is a pic of my USB to PC connection, it's a 3 pin connector with "monitor" ID'd on the BMS plug side. My BMS has a 3 pin output with 3 Chinese characters which I'm told is for the PC monitoring. I'm thinking that is the BMS to PC connection using the software. My BMS UART connection is a 6 pin port, which matches the DALY BT module I received.

Just received my 24v 500A Smart BMS. I only really needed around 220A but I figured headroom would be safer and I can charged at 250A as well.

I ordered all the connectors but missed the LCD and Battery LCD. I may order a small BMS and a bulk order of those items as it would seem there is a market for them :D

Delivery took 14 days from order and 6 days from shipping (free).

The Bluetooth module, shipped separately from the Daly store on AliExpress, has a micro USB connection and came with two cables, one microUSB to 4-pin and one microUSB to 6-pin.
I got my bms with a uart socket with 4 pins and a bluetooth dongle with a 6 pin plug. Any chance you can take a photo of your 4 pin plug so I can repin mine to a 4pin JST to use with my Daly 4S 100A model! This will also give me an idea of how to wire up a usb to ttl adapter for programming the bms with sinowealth software.

I only have 2 x IO's on mine excluding the NTC port, the aforementioned 4 pin uart, and the monitor socket, which i later found out this is for the USB to TTL, so I can have bluetooth and PC going at once.

I just got 12V 4S 150A version R05U-FL19.
After quite a long discussion with the seller I finally get something they call "datasheet".
There is a description of the pins inside.
It is the same as you have so it may help you.

I found the pinout for the 4 pin uart socket, it is, from left to right when looking into the connector ON THE BMS, Rx, Tx, 3.3V and Gnd. Or for the round bluetooth puck supplied with these bms's, white, green, red, black. Check with a multimeter first, Get the bms fired up (short B- to P-), verify that full battery voltage appears on P-, and check the right most two pins of the UART port, you should see 3.3v on the 20V dc range.

Green and white wires may need reversing. This won't harm the bluetooth, it will simply not work with the green and white reversed. You WILL harm the bluetooth and possibly the BMS with the red and black reversed, hence double checking with the DMM.

Reason I am providing this is that some sellers are throwing in a puck with a 6 pin plug, for a BMS with a 4 pin UART port. Depinning and repinning in a JST PH 2.0mm 4 conductor plug with the correct colour sequence, sourced from a local hobby store for a few cents would be quicker than waiting on a new cable to suit the puck from the BMS supplier in china. Hobby stores sell the cables for hobby LiPo pack extensions.

Would you guys trust a Daly 12v 300a?

Get a 210 dollar price on one shipped to my door.
Yes...I've been testing one the last week everything works perfectly so far. No problem waking up bt or resetting.
The coulomb counting is a little off
 
Had to extend my balance connector - its too short for these big CALB Ca180 cells. I'll just solder a female JST XH on the ends of the Daly supplied cable, and cut the female end off a 30cm extension and put ring terminals on the end. Kinda annoying :p
 
I sorry, I haven't read the entire thread, but I was wondering if anyone had a clean version of this document (or a similar one, ideally 4s 200A bluetooth)? It's the instructions on how to set it up and use it.
 
Please do not use my wiring pinouts for the uart port on the 4S 100A bms. My supplier (local) is sending me the correct cable and I will take a photo of them side by side for the benefit of anyone who gets a bluetooth puck with the wrong connector in their package.

Also waiting on a 10A power supply. My little 5A one won't source enough current to turn on the BMS.

IMO it is not about the current.
It just needs about 0.7V higher voltage then is the pack at the moment.
Any regulated power supply will do it.
You need to have the NTC connected, otherwise it will never work.
 
I needed a more powerful psu anyway.... NTC was it. DOH! :)

Mind you my new power supply showed up today and I set it to 14.7 and 10A and tried it. Thats when I noticed I hadn't plugged in the thermister. Once I plugged that in, the current shot up to 10A, and I was able to fine tune the power supply to 14.6. I then thought "what about that spare 35A victron charge controller I have" so I stuffed that in between the psu and battery, set it to 20A charge current, and cranked the psu wide open (31V at 10A). Sure enough I was pumping 20A into the battery at 14.6V! As a bonus I was only drawing 8A from the PSU, so not pegging it at its limits, which I'm sure would shorten its life.

I assume an FTDI RS232R USB to TTL will do for programming this with SinoWealth or whatever the program is called. I have not yet recieved the correct cable from my supplier yet (for the blue tooth)

Hi, not sure if I’m quite right here. I have a problem connecting to the Bluetooth dongle. I was able to connect to the BMS via UART USB cable but the Bluetooth thing won’t work. I tried charging, discharging and so on. My iPhone won’t find the dongle at all, the old S8 is getting it, but is unable to connect to it. The wires of the dongle are connected to a 6 pin connector. Colours from left to right are red,white,green,black. I’m like sitting at least for 5 hours trying to fix it.

edit: got it working on my ios device. Had to revoke the Bluetooth rights and turn it back on. Now it works.
