Hello,
I live in Canada and I just ordered this

Ad says it will be here in under 3 weeks.

Am I going to have a hefty bill to pay to customs when it arrives?
I hadn't considered this before but three free shipping is actually a negative because it means they lumped the price of shipping(likely over $400) into the cost of the product so now I'm expecting I may have to pay heavy duty fee on that $400 that should have been paid as shipping...

Anyone with experience shipping from China to Canada?

Their Aliexpress site seems to suggest you'll be ok. Yours don't seem like they're being sold by BLS though.

EU Member Countries,Custom duties and custom clearance expenses are included.UK,Japan, Canada,United States,Russian Federation, Thailand,Singapore,Vietnam,Taiwan,Malaysia, Philippines.Custom duties and custom clearance expenses are included.Other countries dos not include Customs duties & taxes.

I was charged no import tax.

You should have purchased directly from BLS off of Aliexpress. They ship to LA and relabeled to US address. I'm assuming they do this to bypass tariffs?

hmmm.
Well Aliexpress was dragging their feet on verifying my purchase... So i started shopping around. DHgate actually called me yesterday and I was able to confirm with them my purchase.

Big price difference between the two offerings, so I guess I can expect to have to make up for that in customs duties when it arrives. At least now I'll have an idea of how much money to have ready. Seems like a lot of the ads shuffle the costs around in different ways to make the same exact product seems more appealling when in the end you still have to pay the same amount of dollars.

Please keep this thread updated. I'm also in Ontario Canada and pondering these or similar LifePO4's as I am presently researching a replacement for my existing FLA Battery bank. I have a thread in the Powerwalls section relate to this. My particular "target" is to get 10-12 Kwh @ 24VDC usable storage and so I looked at possibly using 400AH Cells but what a shocker in price, so I may have to look at 200AH Cells.

Then there is the confusing point which you likely crossed as well. They (DHgate) advertise pre-assembled 24V-200AH completed assemblies for really varied prices and some considerably less than what these cells would cost. I think it's likely to do with the output amperage capacity High output versus Low output and cell "quality" (thinking some may be seconds or thirds even).

Yea I will let you know. To be honest I don't plan on doing an amp hour test or anything like that. I'm new to this stuff and taking it one step at a time. But I will let you know if I get dinged on customs charges, and if I'm impressed with the overall packaging, and appearance of the batteries. Also how long they take to get here is another factor.

Gotta ask, I dunno if your technical but do you have any plans on opening up the box and looking at what 'goodies' are in there ? Taking photo's and posting them ? I'm sure others have wondered about that, I'd think others would be curious about the contents too, migfht be an interesting learning experience, lol.

Opening up the box?
I'm getting raw cells. So the only way to open them up would be to start taking the cells apart.... which I certainly will not be doing lol

I didn't mean the actually battery casing... that wouldn't be good eh ! But to see how well packaged / packed &^ condition on arrival is of interest (well to me anyways, it says a lot about a company, if they take care in shipping prep etc) I was thinking for a minute that you got one of those preassembled packs (got mixed up with another thread I was reading, trying to catch up on things).

Yes I can do that.
I will be checking the voltage of each cell as well. Hopefully they included bolts nuts and bus bars for the terminals.

Here is how my cells came from BLS.

This summer I purchased on eBay a $160.00, combination wind & solar charge controller & shipping to me in North America directly from Shanghai was free but slow, so I paid an additional $35.00 US and received it in a few days. Hopefully you will find the same reasonable rates.

Hey! I'm in Ontario Canada too. Been eyeing a few options (looking for around 200Ah and the Ruixu 100Ah -- Will's cautions noted) look tempting to construct a 200Ah cell. If there are other local enthusiasts, lmk. Maybe a group buy or local moral support!

i would ship to usa then bring them across, the surcharge from ups, fedex, DHL is 1/3 to 1/2 your cost, they dare not surcharge USA . it is a money grab. be very careful

USA allows 800 on shipments Canada 0, ship to a Kinet if you can. Trust me I know..

Do I have to pay a huge bill to customs when I arrive at the customs?
I haven't considered it before, but three free shipping is actually a negative factor because it means that they have concentrated shipping (possibly more than $ 400) into the cost of the product, so now I hope that I may have to pay high tariffs That $ 400 that was supposed to be paid by freight ...

Any experience shipping from China to Canada?

The price is very cheap. Do you have any news?

A NOTE ON MY PURCHASE: I got the package with no problem and on the early date for the estimated arrival. Came via UPS. The pack cost $4000 and I had to pay UPS $97.50 for the fee & tax. Keep in mind that Canada has different trade agreements & tariffs than the USA has with China & other Nations for that matter. Rarely, that means we can get better deals on some things but other times we are getting shafted up the wazoo.

Does DIY have an official translator on-site?

Keep in mind that Canada also has CETA (European trade agreement) which got rid of a lot of tariffs on other things (like boat parts). I do worry about the cycle life of these chinese cells - as the math on Lithium only works if you can get the Depth of Discharge AND the cycle life gain over lead acid. I'm trying to decide if i take the plunge on LiFePo4 for my marine house bank and the biggest variable I cannot confirm yet is the cycle life.
