Will a high 12V 100A constant power supply EVER charge a battery above 12V?

For that matter...will any power supply ever charge any battery beyond it's own voltage output?

From the analogy of volts to water pressure. It seems not. But I have this need to not assume.

With a charge voltage of 12.000000 volts you will never get a battery to 12.000000 volts.
But you will get it so close that you can't really tell the difference.

TY. So then 12v solar panels are putting out over 12V to charge LPOs to 14.5V? and the controller is backing it down. This is where I get hung up.

"12 volt panels" don't do 12 volts.
Please post the info on the back of the panels.
Its probably in the neibourhoood of 17 volts.

Thanks, My only panel is a portable folding 12V 120A. It's built into a ballistic nylon case, so I can't read the build specs off it. But I think I am getting it, The higher voltage is then managed by the mppt or pwm controller. My guesses about how this all works is getting are getting a little better.

This question was actually based on my search for a "12v" 75 to 100 amp fixed output power supply to rapidly charge the campers two 280a LPO's using a LPG inverter generator I can only get constant 1600w from... Now I know a 12v power supply won't cut it.

Any suggestions are very welcome and appreciated
 
The output written on the charger or set by a dial? Only if the power supply is out of spec.

Right, it's the same question as "can water flow uphill".
I had been looking for a fixed inexpensive 12v power supply...I understand now how that won't fly.

If I were a circuit board dude I would be buying these cheep and moding them for sale. I can't be alone in this search...

I doubt that is rated at 120A, that is lots of power to be portable, and as idicated, the Voc and Vmp will be higher than 12V for it to be able to charge 12V battery.
