After 76 days wait I finally received my lishen 272ah cells in the uk from Shenzhen shouhuzhe.
it’s the first time I’ve purchased from alibaba and it’s went fairly smoothly so far except the longer than expected wait.
the cells were shipped without any protective foam, the shipping labels were on the bottom of the box. Which has caused them to be shipped upside down. They have the welded on studs and has damaged the top off two cells. C824AE23-60BE-4D49-B858-00AB8F68BFC9.jpegim not sure if these cells will have internal damage or not.894449D3-B271-42CF-9BDB-9AF285BF7376.jpeg There’s also one cell with a dented corner.9BE9A421-D919-4123-AAA8-99D40D69E004.jpeg I’ve messaged the seller asking if they can be replaced but I’m not holding out any hope, it’s been hard enough to get a reply to my questions sometimes.
I paid extra shipping charges to get the cells sent by train rather than the slow boat, it takes 28-32 days by train according to the train company’s web site. What I think has happened is Shenzhen shouhuzhe has waited until alibaba has cleared my funds to them before sending them. That’s based on countin fb backwards to the date the funds were released.
The cells them self are all within 3 millivolt of each other and the IR is the same for all. I weighed them and they seem to be a within 20g range. Some of the cells are slightly bloated, when put next to each other there is slight gaps at the top, around 3mm at worst.
Will the cells with the damage be safe to charge, top balance and capacity test or should I hold out for replacements?

2 hours of charging and all seems fine. I’m charging at 30a, cells made into a pack of 4, bms is connected up, I’m not that brave or stupid.
seems to be a well balanced set, the biggest delta the bms is recording is 5mv.
still don’t know if it’s safe to try and charge the damaged cells!

I am not sure anyone can answer whether it's safe or not. Personally I wouldn't. The poor packaging caused deformation on the top of the cell due to impact on the studs. I have seen many dented cells of all kinds with all kinds of dents. But I have never seen a cell deformed at the top.

I would not accept anything other than a full refund for the damaged cells. Hopefully that's what you will get and then I suggest you order from one of the other better known suppliers who knows how to package cells. If shouhuzhe agrees to send replacements tell them the cells need to be properly packed in foam.

At least it’s a first :)
I asked about packaging and wa stood they would be put into protective packaging. I don’t think cardboard is very protective in this case. I think what’s happened is once the cells have been boxed it’s easier to slip a box over the top than it is to lift the cells into the box. Then the labels have been stuck to the top of the box which is the bottom of the cells. Half way round the world upside down, it’s no wonder they got dented

I have mentioned the forum and posted a link to this thread. Ive had a closer look and there’s a fourth cell damaged. The whole positive terminal is pushed down but still square. It’s only down a couple of mm but it’s still down. At least half have survived. I will be pushing for replacements rather than a refund unless the refund also covers shipping

Got a reply from Shenzhen shouhuzhe saying they will refund me for 2 cells out of the 4 that’s damaged. They have also said they have upgraded there packaging which is great but doesn’t help me

are you going to accept or push for 4 refunds/replacements
?

I’ve sent detailed photos and videos of all 4 cells and have asked for a refund for 4 cells and half the shipping charges or a replacement delivered

So after much arguing I’ve been told accept refund for two cells or don’t. They are only willing to refund for two of the four damaged cells.
when I asked how I claim my refund I was told ask Alibaba, they will do it.
for the life of me I can’t find how to get a refund on a closed order on the Alibaba app. I will try and borrow a laptop or pc and try that way tomorrow.

I don’t like to slag off a company but Shenzhen shouhuzhe has been a disappointment to deal with. 76 days for delivery, no protective packaging on the cells or in the boxes, they won’t accept responsibility for the cells being damaged and although I can clearly show them 4 damaged cells they will only refund for two.
that said, had the cells not been damaged I could have forgiven the long shipping time.

That's a shame. Those terminals look much more user-friendly that the M6 holes. Are them M8 threads?

There m6 threaded studs

Although Shenzhen shouhuzhe have agreed to refund two cells due to the length of time the shipping took and the order being marked as complete long before it was delivered I don’t seem able to open a claim thru alibaba. Shenzhen shouhuzhe keep telling me to speak to the Ali customers service and they keep telling me to get the vendor to refund me directly. I’ve been going round and round on this carousel for a while now. I guess the idea is if it’s two complicated I will give up. They’ve guessed wrong,

Escalate the problem to alibaba. Don’t let them talk you into accepting something you shouldn’t accept.

I had a bad experience with Aliexpress a couple of years ago. The only bad experience in 20 or so years of Internet shopping.
They insisted on videos of something not working. Photos weren't good enough. But you couldn't actually upload videos on their clunky website. Despite many tries of different formats and sizes.

Then it timed out as I remember. They refused to reopen the case. I swore to only use eBay after that although I have started using them again over the last year as they have a wider selection of some diy electronics product and others.

I don't want to be negative but I'm guessing they weren't encouraging you to complain to Alibaba because they know it's timed out. I hope I'm wrong.

I have but since the trade assurance guarantee has timed out there’s nothing they seem willing to do. Just keep getting told from one to speak to the other.

I think it may be a simple case of it’s timed out so on you go. You can have the refund but you can’t apply for it, sorry about that and better luck next time

It also turns out innwatt and zlpower are the same company and don’t want to sell me a power star 3000w low frequency inverter. They are the same company and have a uk agent to buy from. The uk agent wants £475 ($661.55) for something that’s advertised an alibaba for around $200 plus shipping.
nothing to do with Shenzhen shouhuzhe I’m just having a rant

Did you pay with credit card?
No debit card. Haven’t tried asking my bank to help yet.

With my credit card, I have 90 days to open a case to reverse a charge. I suspect these companies know that when they ship you something that takes 75+ days to deliver. I would open that case with my CC immediately, as you don't have many other options, and they know that.

I’m over the 90 days by now. I’m going to borrow a laptop and see if I can open an offline claim. Shouhuzhe day they will refund it. I’ve screen shotted there reply’s so I can prove it if needed

Good luck! I hope it works out for you.

How did this end?

It’s kinda ended with alibaba saying to contact the vendor and they can refund me directly and the vendor refusing to refund me and claiming they can only refund me thru alibaba. I’ve shown the vendor the screen shots from alibaba but they still claim they can’t refund me. I’ve shown alibaba the screen shots from the vendor but due to the time since purchase they can’t do anything about it.
Basically the vendor not shipping them until the 60 day refund period was up and marking it as delivered long before it was screws the customer out of any chance of a refund
