Rosen Solar from Alibaba, anyone have experience?

I am waiting to see how this goes for you, it sounds like you are on the right track, but like others I am concerned about the money and quality. Thanks for sharing your info.
Hi, just put my order in. It will be about 4 months before I receive my delivery. I'm purchasing slot and filling a container.
So 2months for longest production times and then 2 months on a boat. I'll post more during install........ In July.

Thanks MC. Interesting that you need to wait for production of the panels. I think they must use the same assembly line for different panels, so if you want something that isn't being produced at the moment, you have to wait.

No, the solar is not what will take 2 months, that's 2 weeks. I have other items with longer times.

Thanks again for the update, I have reread a bunch of this and if you don't mind I personally would love to know what you ordered and what it cost? Sorry to be so nosey, but I am planning an order and that would be part of my learning curve.

@Mancandy Should be an easy US$/W and what size panels. The rest is likely specific to your case.

Would love to see photos as well, although @gramos100 will hopefully receive his shipment soon and we can get some photos from him :)

I would also like to see the $/watt and wattage of panels if possible and possibly total shipping cost for whole container. I assume its a 20 foot container. Did you also purchase the actual container? If so that cost or at least ballpark also.

Wow that is very impressive, so now can I ask what you did for the payment option? Thanks for the feedback, I will be excited to see your final results, sounds like an impressive system. Were there any import taxes on this? I have no idea where the Trump import tax thing is as of today?

I also don't know how you placed the order? I do appreciate your feedback!

I placed the order through the alibaba system, they hold the payment in escrow, basically. I used a wire transfer.
I'm in the USVI, things are a little different here. Last container I brought in for my interior remodel, I paid 6 percent on everything. I had it shipped directly here, not to the mainland. If it had gone to the mainland I would have paid at least double, duties, taxes and shipping. Miami to here was quoted as another 4K for shipping.

I have a LG panel system with 2 Tesla powerwall batteries, 9.9K right now. The price of the system was 4 times what the rosen is. but that was installed by a company after Maria wiped us out
I wasn't looking for another system, just found these by accident the price for the whole system is only a little bit more than adding an additional battery to my current setup.
This will be completing independent of the Tesla system. Will mostly be used for air conditioning and smaller outdoor needs and backup it the Tesla system runs out of power.I can get at least 2 days when very rainy from the Tesla system before batteries get to low. This will be a huge buffer.

Much thanks for the info!!!

Yes that is all very helpful. You may or may not know how much this helps us when we are all alone when making this kind of purchase.

Also curious to know about import taxes to continental USA if anyone has any info.

@gramos100 - any updates on your order? I'm still very interested in the PV panel quality.
I had a contact with Rosen yesterday , the shipment should be in Greece at the end of April ,
I have been wondering if the "Ever Stuck " was going to hold up deliveries ?

Yes, that would affect you. The Suez was blocked for 1 week and each ship has to pay a fee to go through it, so my guess is they will figure out how to get the backlog of ships through it quickly. I suspect the maximum delay to any given ship is only about 2 weeks. Given all of the disruption in 2020, this is probably nothing :p

The equipment should arrive soon, so it is exciting to be this close. Be sure to fill up in!

I'm curious, as I don't know exactly how tariffs work so excuse my ignorance. Everyone says if you're in the US, it's not worth it to import from china. But US has a 15% tariff on solar (down from 30 when Trump first made the tariff. Or is it still at 20%?).

Rosen Solar, for example, sells a full 10Kw off grid kit, with mounting and battery backup, for $8000. Even 15% on 8k is just over $1000 which is still WAY cheaper than anything I could find in the US. Most kits I find here for a similar system run 15-20k easy. So what am I missing?
