Summary of my battery options from China, lifepo4 3.2v 280ah cells.

Yikes, that packaging looks pretty shonky! Wouldn't want to trust 30kg of cells to cardboard inserts.

The packaging I got from Blmpow was actually superb.

I balance charged mine 4 days ago and have been using them each night with the TV/Surround sound hooked up to the Victron Multiplus as a short test. There's only 0.001V between the cells at the moment. Quite happy with the cell quality, just wish I noticed the pre-fitted studs before but it's not the end of the world.

Yes qishou is who I would order from if I ordered myself. Her name is Amy also. She seemed like the most honest one to me.
But there is also a guy who offered to broker them for me and he uses the same person for all his stuff so he trusts them. Sells a lot on eBay and locally. I’ll likely go with him but the only drawback is I have to drive a couple hours to pick them up. He is getting lishuns. Same $80 price range so likely not what Amy has for $120. But is it worth 50% more? I’m not sure.
Sometimes a long drive is a good thing. I prefer to go cross country when I go for a long drive.

I ordered 8 280Ah from here 6 weeks ago and they're still not with me in UK :( Got a message on 3rd April saying
"Dear friend, your parcel is normal in transit to your country". I suspect that's when they were put on the boat though and not in UK as they would be here now.

$698.64 for 8 cells + $356.89 shipping
I went to the link, and at the bottom of the page it says they accept PayPal. Put 16 cells into the cart and suddenly no option to pay with PayPal?
When, oh when, will we be able to buy cells in the US and not have to go through this dog and pony show?
I can drive to my local Sam's Club, buy as many $89 FLA 6V golf cart batteries as I want, and be out of the store within an hour.
And the way things are going for me trying to buy LiFePo4 cells, I may give up on lithium and do just that :(

I ordered 8 x 280ah yesterday and paid with PayPal. At first I thought there was no PayPal option but when I clicked on Pay now it showed the options including PayPal.

Have placed an order for 8 x 280Ah with Blmpow for just over £800.00 without studs, although after placing the order the price went up. Weird....

Can you keep us informed on their progress?

Yes. I'll let you know when they arrive. I had previously ordered from Basen on 10th November and haven't received them so I'm hoping I won't have to wait too long for this order.

You ordered them 6 months ago!!!!
Are they coming by ship or rickshaw?

Forum search might help. This is not a common supplier and I don't know anything about them except some things do come up when searching for them.

Thank you for your reply. When I was conversing with MS Battery, he seemed very knowledgeable and offered up a lot of information. Many sellers you have to pry the info out of them. If you don't ask they wont tell.
Again thank you

This is a great thread, thank you all for adding quotes.

I am being told by my electrician that to meet Canadian Electrical Code I need the batteries to be UL 1973 certified and marked as such on the battery. Does anyone know which brands I should be looking at for this? I've asked EVE about their LFP280 but have not yet heard back.

Thanks!

Derek

(Hmm, perhaps I mean UL 1642 instead actually. The UL 1973 seems to be for the Energy Storage System rather than the cells.)

I'd be very surprised if any of the Chinese 280Ah cells have UL certification. We did this for one of our products at the last company I worked at and it was a lot of work and quite expensive even though we had to do zero modification to the existing product to get it to pass.

Take a look at the specs on EVE's Alibaba website and for certification they list CE/Rosh/UL. I am also attaching a document from EVE regarding UL certification. I am no expert on this. So what's your opinion?

I chatted with her a little. seems like she's gotten a little "proud" of herself. They are advertising $89 cells on alibaba to lure you in, and then when you talk to them those cells are "out of stock" of course and the new version costs $120.

And I also do not believe her 30 day transit time..
The $121 cells are the only grade A cells I am aware of, purchased directly from Eve complete with test reports. All the rest are grey market cells, which are actually a very good value. Pride has nothing to do with it, she pays more for the cells, so the price is more. I am sure if she had more of the cheap cells, she would be happy to sell them, as it is, the expensive ones are in stock because Eve manufacturers them and will sell them to her.
