I've been planning out a build for my home office to lower electricity costs. My budget is around $5,000 and I'm trying to power as much of my two PCs as possible, with the lights etc being a bonus if I can. I do a lot of simulations for VFX and stuff so the two PCs in question are about 600w almost 24/7.
This is what I am currently looking at...

I am handy but don't have any experience with solar so the whole thing has me kind of nervous regarding sizing and making sure everything will work together. I'm in the California high desert about 3 hours outside Vegas so we get plenty of sun. Not looking to grid tie at all but because the PCs need to stay on I have to be able to switch to AC power uninterrupted when the solar runs out.
Would I be better off going 48v? If so why?
I'm also concerned about permits... Does anyone know if it's possible to find installers that would install stuff that I purchase myself? I am happy to pay someone, I just don't want to deal with big companies trying to upsell me and overprice their product. Otherwise I need to do it in a way that doesn't require permits, or figure out how to get the permits sorted.
