fyi warning about liitokala varicore flagship store aliexpress..do not buy

UPDATE...

I managed to get even aliexpress to agree that I cannot upload a 12hr video with a 500mb limit, so they agreed to allow me to upload the video to online storage site and send them the link...

so I uploaded the looooong video which was compressed down to 2GB and finally aliexpress did agree than the battery was not as advertised...
Yep, the full test with constant current load meter, my fluke showing the voltage the entire time (fyi, you disable your fluke meter from going into sleep mode by holding down the yellow button on powerup) and a second meter showing that the constant current 20amp load was what was happening was uploaded.

so their response was I could get a FULL refund, it I sent ALL EIGHT BATTERIES back (such a cost is well over a $1000 for me and postal service said anything sent TO china cannot be tracked, battery regulations when sending are quite involved it seems).

The other choice that aliexpress offered was to refund me $54 and then close the dispute.

yea, I took my $54... and ordered a replacement cell from one of the buyer groups here; so hopefully that will turn out better.

and NO, it has been several days and the credit has not yet shown up hehe

finally got my order of 8x100ah batteries that i ordered on or around 2/20/21 and still waiting on the 8x280ah battery order made on 2/15/21
the 100ah batteries look and tested good for voltage further testing testing this weekend

i got my refund on the 280 cells via Paypal dispute yeah

its been over 75 fays since i ordered them ,as their ad says 75 days or longer order is free,
so they nay still arrive
would be nice

I got a problem that goes kind of in the same direction. I ordered 12 EVE 280ah cells, and they did arrive after all, but it took them a solid 100 days.

It also stated the 75 days or full refund guarantee in the contract. On AliExpress it says that you don't lose your statutory rights as a costumer in case of a refund. Therefore, technically I don't have to send anything back if I want to claim the 75 days refund. Because if I do that, I lose my statutory rights automatically. (You can't have a warranty on something you legally don't possess anymore)

So I think from a legal standpoint the 75-day guarantee grants you a full refund without sending the product back. I guess I won't ask for everything back, the cells seem to be fine. (tested 4 of them the rest will be done in a few days)

But you should be able to. At least with your cc company and PayPal, because the 75-day guarantee is a part of your contract.
I live in the EU tough, I don't know if this would apply somewhere else.

the tricky part here is that you can get the refund..if NOTHING arrives...however, if they send you some junk within the shipping window, well, I went down that road hehe
Aliexpress definitely will side with the merchant regardless of evidence; does the term "legal stance" mean anything in china????

To anybody that actually ordered and, due the shipping mess, received nothing until well past the agreement window... I think you just got a xmas present.

i am not saying i feel good about not sending the money back but many repeating messages about not having a tracking numbers when all my other orders had tracking numbers ,no returned messages , i appeals to the company emails etc,
yes i feel lucky and yes i think carma may bite back .plus i am not saying this is the right thing to do but i did ho out and order more batteries because i believed i was not going to get these batteries because of being screwed by chinese companies a while ago , i took a risk (as far as my past experiences) and a contract is a contract 75 days or you don't pay

oh as another note the batteries came slightly bellied (lack of better term) i have charged them to 3.25v they did belly a little more so i stopped the charge untill i get them in a squeeze box .i am going to discharge them a little to see if they slim down a bit until they are cased up, charge them to 3.5v then do a ah/kwh test

Happy to read the Ali customer service was for the customer this time.

It did take an 12 hours video and loads of energy but you got $54.
Not sure if it's should be read as sarcastic....
(Half happy you got the refund, half sarcastic for the effort it took)

A big plus that Ali did take the evidence serious.
I sadly have different experience.

Just found this thread.
Yes, BE AWARE OF those brands, especially the unhonest sellers. They put photo of good quality on Aliexpress with QR code, but ship to customers low grade, the one that manufacturer(s) get rid of.
I got Liitoka 280Ah cells, but real capacity of cell is around 229Ah

That's an easy one to get a partial refund.

If you make a video, showing the cells at 3.65v, 20 minutes after charge, and discharge down to 2.2 volt, several times, so the low point stays at 2.2v and doesn't recover back to +2.5v, your capacity tester will show the real capacity.

The % less storage is roughly what refund you can get.

While it's not ideal, you don't have to end up paying way too much.

The better sellers on Alibaba usually send what they sell.
Even then not 100%, you have to place your expectations with the price.
Expect top quality products for 30% of the price in Europe or USA...
Not realistic.

Threads are cut, not formed, and might be skew, or roughly made.
(Not factory standard for aluminium walled LIFEPO4 cells, they are intended to be laser welded)

Many things can and will go wrong.

At the end of the day, you have fairly good quality products that match most of your expectations for a really friendly price.

Probably 230Ah is a good bargain for the price you paid.

That doesn't mean it's OK, when they sell 280, it should be close.

Never heard of Liitoka, I don't recall a LiFePO4 factory with that name.

It can be rebranding, like bad Eve cells that got a new name.

Charge again, place your camera and start recording.
So the test, and place on YouTube.

Tell the dispute department the exact times of interest, and share some screenshots.

Quite sure you can get partial refund.

Alibaba / AliExpress where really bad last year with customer support.
They got an expensive warning from Chinese gouvernement, and improved a lot.

Aliexpress decided for me in the case and I got back a third of the original price, because of the shipping delay.

@Diysolar123 , you might have read about the mega fine the Chinese gouvernement gave to Ali...
For this reason.
Things are slightly better now.

Fyi: customer protection in Asia sucks big time.
If I buy a printer or chainsaw or ..what ever, they will put together in the shop (place cartridge, paper, connect to computer and make test print) (add oil, gasoline, start the motor) and that is your "quality control".

Any problems that you might get later during usage...
Bad luck for you.

This is the normal customer protection and warranty that most Asian people grow up with.

The level of warranty and customer protection in USA of Europe is something way beyond their (our) wildest dreams.

Buying in Asia (cheap) and expect the same level of warranty, quality and customer protection as " the west" (expensive) is something one can call naïve.
You get what you pay for.
If you want warranty on your quality Asian product, buy it locally.
That seller buys 3, and sells 2.
One spare for warranty claims :)
And a good western style profit ?

none of their bars codes work on my scanner
Lol.
Unless you are the lucky owner of the factory software and special scanner, you can't read it.

The hexadecimal code does give some information.

The latest EVE white paper have some insight.

There are several threads on how to interpret the code, and if I'm correct that white paper is available for download in the recourse section of this forum :)

Many of us, including me have tried to use QR code scanner, and came up empty.

Code still doesn't tell much, possible production date, and factory (Eve has several Factories)

Oh, that sort of warranty is known here too, as a "tail light guarantee"

Having something work out the gate is actually a bit reassuring. Not everything does.
