Should start by saying that I'm a noob but I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work; the panels VOC is comfortably under the 30v max input of the Jackery and the lead you've linked linked to says it uses 14AWG cable which I think is better than some of the thinner, cheaper cables I've seen on amazon. Personally, I think it sounds fine.

just have to do that and give it a try LOL!

No worries; I've got a couple of the Jackery units myself and had been looking at the largest panels that would work with them as I'm UK based and was getting poor performance out of the Solarsaga 100W in cloudy conditions.

From what I've read, the 8mm input can take up to 30V and will throttle the amps to 3.5A. Given that the Jackery regulates the amps but not the volts, I found that I could get a 200W panel to work with it safely and have been getting 81W in sunny conditions and around 30W in cloud (rather than the 15W that the Solarsaga gives).

I've been careful to ensure that the volts are safely under the the max input but have been thinking about trying another 200W panel in parallel in order to really get the best results in this endless cloudy weather we're having here. I'm assuming that because the Jackery throttles the amps to 3.5A, the extra amps from running panels in parallel shouldn't be an issue, but I will post in the forum to double check that I won't fry anything by trying!

Basically, I have a Jackery Powerpro500
saying input is to be 12 - 30v.

I have a Hyundai Panel that says Voc at 38.80.
Voltage at Pmax is only 32.00

At least in theory, would Hobotech's solution work?

Or where do I have to research to get more specific and safe?

Note: I've uploaded a Word doc with some more spec info.
I know this post is old.
If it makes sense I am open to / will start a new post.

As the panel you're looking at has a VOC of 38.80, I would NOT use it; it could result damage to the unit due to the voltage exceeding the max input of 30V . Also, I would bear in mind that the VOC is (If I remember correctly) calculated at 25 degrees C, so if it's any colder the voltage output will be even higher due to the temperature coefficient calculation.

To keep things simple, I would do the following:

1. Stick to a max panel size of 200W and ensure that the VOC is somewhere in the low 20s; or use 100w panels chained together in parrallel.

2. Always wire panels into the jackery in parallel if using more than 1 to ensure the voltage is kept below the limit of 30V. If the Amps are higher, the Jackery will just throttle them to 3.5A.
