Hi guys, the plan is to do a 10KW solar array, with a Solark 12kw inverter, as well as a natural gas whole home generator. This house will be "off grid" electricity wise, but "grid tied" as we will have a natural gas line only to the house for all heating, cooking, and drying appliances.. This is where I am going to document my process of ordering with Amy Wan. It will be simple and to the point but I want to keep track of my progress here, and others can build trust in her company by reading this thread. thank-you.

Order of events:
Aug. 18, 2021 - Started conversation about these cells:
1pcs EVE 280AH LiFePO4 (LFP) 3.2V Cells Battery (New Version LF280K with 6000cycles, Fully Matched)--Genuine Grade A

Aug. 18, 2021 - Amy Wan got back to me with a quote and shipping, providing pictures of cells as examples, and the extremely stout packaging they are adopting as new methods for shipping. Also provided bus bar options. I opted for a 2mm thick bus bar, and I ordered so there are double bus bars for my setup. I will be doing a 16S - 4P method yielding me a 48V system with 1120AH battery life.

Aug. 22, 2021 - Received quotes in three segments, something to do with Alibaba orders under $5000.00 are easier. My intentions are to order this week yet, as we are only going to be needing the batteries next spring. However i want the batteries here and ready to go, need to research how to store batteries for long periods of time without use, I understand they need to be climate controlled, but at what rate I will find out and post here </>//needs edit(leaving myself notes)***

Aug. 23, 2021 - Payed for battery cells via Paypal and a credit card in 3 different payments. Per Amy, if invoice exceeds 5000.00 there are higher fees, so she split them up into 3 seperate invoices.

Aug. 31, 2021 - Ordered 4 Chargery BMS16T 100A from Jason Wang, He dropped them off the next day to Amy for shipment in one package.

Sep 10, 2021 - KUDOS to Will Prowse for adding the ability to edit old posts. WIll make documentation alot better to keep in one place!

Sep. 11, 2021 - Batteries have shipped. Received pictures of all the batteries in boxes on pallet, along with the chargery BMS box. All with my name on them and shipping destination. Also received UPS tracking info which only kicks in when it enters canada. Also received spreadsheet of battery metrics. Metrics show QR code, Capacity Ah, OCV1, Ri1 (mohm), OCV2, Ri2 (mohm), OCV3, Ri3(mohm). All 68 cells performed basically the same. Attached a spreadsheet showing battery performances for reference.

Oct. 25, 2021 - Still awaiting for batteries to land in my country, UPS Tracking info provided, but not updates showing on it. Will give it another week due to global supply chain issues before following up through alibaba.

NOV. 16, 2021 - First cells arrived, received 11 of 34 packages today, some are showing on the way, while others show waiting for UPS to get the packages, so there is definitely major delays in the shipping processes! I haven't opened up the boxes yet, will do that tonight!

NOV. 26, 2021- All cells have now arrived along with qty 4 Chargery 16T BMS. All look to be in good condition and all have a charge of 3.29 V

Currently , and for any future posts here i will calculate in USD.

$125.00/ Cell with welded studs. Plus $1 for each of my 68 extra bus bars incl nuts, shipping to canada $1769.00

Just trying to figure out now which payment method to use, likely will use paypal even though i have to pay processing fees, I just feel more comfortable with it.

I think if you pay with paypal and it is a direct money transfer then there is no buyer protection.
This is why I payed with credit card. There is the possibility to start a chargeback in your bank.

The whole reason to use PayPal is the protections they provide.

I have ordered from Alibaba and Aliexpress using PayPal .... and have had 2 times I needed to process a refund. In both cases, I started the process with them at the same time as the Ali dispute .... In both cases I got a refund via PayPal before Ali even started processing it.

It is. And it works if you buy from a shop.
But at that moment you add the recipient by hand (like email address) ... it is a transfer between two individual and not protected by the buyer protection.

I don't think anyone is talking about doing a funds transfer to a friend .... We are talking about buying product from an Alibaba seller.

In that case, PayPal works great. Not sure why you made your comment if you understand the distinction.

The cells will arrive at somewhere around 3.25-3.30Vpc and they can sit at that for quite a long time, months, but keep the cells in your house and they'll be happy, LFP like the same temps as human being do.

I do hope when you say 16s40, your talking standard 16S packs with 4 packs in Parallel.

AMY's PayPal IS to the BUSINESS Account, I know I send money to it regularly. Some like to shade things, it's getting tedious, especially when it's known good reputable vendors.

I ordered from Dongguan. Yes they give me an email address to send the money there in paypal.
Last I checked you could not pay directly under alibaba to paypal.

If you buy on a webshop that is protected. If you transfer founds, it is not. One of my friends had to learn it in the hard way.

I think you just like to go around the forum inserting some sort of technicality to start a disagreement.

When I ordered from Alibaba, the seller was able to send me an invoice thru PayPal .... so the sale and terms of the sale are fully documented.
I have had great success using PayPal and I used them a LOT for online purchases.

I won't perpetuate this with any further surprise ... so you can get the last word in that you always like to do.
Please let the thread get back on track.

For what it's worth I payed Amy with Paypal for same amount of cells and price split across 2 separate paypal transactions.

I shared a (near) personal experience. There was a time when it was a scam to pay for goods and pay with send money to friend option.

Now who is trolling ?

Good. This is alright. This is the right procedure. See the prev answer.

PayPal is fine to pay an invoice to a business. I do it all the time and there are buyer protections.

Paying via friends and family does not have those protections.

Big difference.

I understand ..... I just don't think there is any of that going on in this situation. You'd have to be pretty gullible to use PayPal for a purchase and then transfer money as a friend.

Rather be gullible and read about it online than not ever hear about it and fall for it.

Did you buy 16x4 = 64 cells?

since the ones Amy provides are proper matched cells, and your setup is going to be pretty expensive, I'd suggest ordering at least a few (2 or so) spare cells. Ordering them along the 64 others will guarantee the same batch.

It will be a PITA if you need 1 replacement within 1 year or so to find an proper matching one.

As already mentioned by @Steve_S it's no problem to store LFP for longer periods. Unlike lead-acid you don't need to keep them at 100% charge. Storing at 50% SOC is great, and if the temperatures of the storage are average, you can just keep them in storage for 2 years without barely any noticible issues.

Do you think Amy would be doing business that way? This is a thread about buying from her that has now gone off the rails.

If it seemed like I suggesting something like that then sorry. (just shared a totally not Amy related Paypal experience)

I recommend Amy to anyone who asks for a good supplier from US.
I heard she sends it by train to EU as Dongguan does.
Because I am not sure about that for EU I recommend usually Dongguan (and for the DDP shipping ... that is a big extra)
