Shenzhen Basen vs Shenzen Luyuan Lifepo4?

Interesting thread with a LOT of Postulation, Theorization & Conjecture - ahhhh to be bored....
BTW: No one mentions WHO supplies cells with BusBars Bolts/Nuts or is it extra ? What about if you want them doubled ?
Battery Brokers & The Grey Market is alive & well in China and YES, New Old Stock and more come out of those supplies which MANY Vendors use.

Amy supplies whatever you need for free apparently. That reminds me I need t tell here what I need.

So the cells you bought from them are the bad BASEN cells that is why you got them so cheap from RV? So whom did the RV buy the good cells from then since BASEN cells were bad and are they going to sell the bad cells from BASEN?

"WHICH MEANS any seller asking $125 for LF280, or LF280N is out of their flipping mind, you should not be paying more than $100 for LF280N now grade A new yadada (we all know they are actually B+ stock), regardless of how much they cry about."
So far I have seen any one willing to sell LF280/280N grade A NEW for <$100, so if you know one then you should post the link here, I a sure many people will want to get them..

what exactly is your relationship with Basen? The link you sent are for Grade A-/ B+ cells they are not factory matched cells that match Luyuan. I have those cells, I ran a test on a DC electronic load, they tested to 287 AH on average with the lowest being 285AH.

I HAVE NEVER seen anything coming from Basen be any where close, in fact if you luckily hit 280AH it is cause for celebration because that is rare. More than likely you are going to be int he 270-275 range. GRADE A- / B+ at best

The same can be said about QSO, Dongan Lighting, and other sellers. Basen just believes they can bs there way and charge the same as Luyuan which is total nonsense.

If you are paying more than $500.00 shipped for a set of 4 for these you are being bambozeled. Certainly not worth the $650 Basen wants. NO way!
I am only a customer of Basen. None of the suppliers I spoke to offer the matching that Luyuan, but if you are trying to save 2 months, it is a moot point.

Let me see if I can understand something. In June EVE decides to make a million batteries. Does someone at EVE decide they are going to make 500,000 Grade A, 300,000 grade B, and 200,000 grade C? Or are their mfg standards so poor, that they intend all cells to be grade A, but only a fraction of them meet grade A standard, so they sell them at various grades? Or do they sell them all as grade A and the suppliers have to sort?

I can't comprehend a mfg creating an identical product with identical QR, etc. and for the product to vary so much in quality?

I suspect you're right. Maybe their manufacturing quality varies and a lot of their cells simply dont make the cut.
I bought my cells from a local RV dealer, they are making custom packs to fit in Class A rvs. I bought 16 cells from them I can't disclose the price but it was cheaper than from anywhere, luyuan, basen.
So you haven't actually bought cells from the official EVE store?

Hopefully you will receive LF280K's. Even if you receive the LF280N's I think you will be good to go. You know what to look for and how to parallel top balance and capacity test. I am looking forward to your results.

I understand you paid more to save time and I see 4 EVE cells going for around $800.00 on Amazon and who knows where they are coming from. I also see EVE cells on Ebay for around $800.00 but they come from the US. Good luck :)

best price I can find on Amazon is $700 for four cells and it was a brand I didn't know. I just skimmed eBay, same pricing...maybe $600 plus shipping. None of them were companies I knew. So I didn't find any pricing on AZ or eBay for less than I paid.

I have not done a capacity test and don't have one of the testers as Will uses.

PEOPLE - PAUSE. Sure you can BUY from the EVE Store BUT - yes a BIG BUT - They want to sell you a 20' Shipping Container Minimum ! They are NOT interested in Piddly Retail Sales. The DEVIL is ALWAYS in the Details.

So IF Comparing Vendors Retail/Wholesale to Manufacturers it is a Very Different Game.

Well, boys and girls, I had a shock this afternoon. I was going out front for the mail and in front of the door were four boxes, yes, my shipment from Basen. Boxes looked great, and it was obvious from there being four boxes that they packed them two to a box. My Lishen were 4 to a box.

The boxes appeared to all be in good shape. Opened the first box, busbars, grub bolts, and flange nuts in an envelope on top, then the very thick foam wrapper, and underneath, two sparking new batteries....

BUT, when looking at the QR code, they say "LF280", no N, not K, nada, zilch zero. What the heck. Basen discussed N cells in China if I bought from there, but when looking at my notes, she never did say whas they were shipping domestically to me.

What did I get???

As if that wasn't enough, I thought I would check on my BMS due today....the DHL tracking shows "delivered"....huh.... I looked further into it, the package was delivered in AZ, I am in NM....what the heck!!!

Basen strikes again?

Attached is an example of the baloney cells that come with Basen. RV dealer sold the entire batch as a loss to a battery supplier in texas.

I want to make clear not all cells were like this, but 1 out of every 10 where this way. The VAST majority of them were averaging 274.

Compared to XUBA that I bought back in october 2020, they were averaging 270 ish but thoese were $400 shipped for 4 piece.

Well I guese EVE direct is out just found they only want to sell an entire container worth so yeah, I suppose Luyuan is the only option now.

Before I go further, I have only see the LF280K barcode. Did the LF280N show the "N" on the cell. Basen responded by saying the cells were genuine but if I felt deceived, the would give me a full refund and take them back. I am happy that Basen is stepping up to the plate, but that still makes me wonder if I have authentic N cells?

I am attaching the spec sheet. N is not shown on the QR code like K is on the LF280K. Scroll down on the spec sheet. If 71 is printed on the QR then that is an N cell. Mine have 66 which was for the LF280.

Thanks, Basen gave me the same data sheet, i.e. for the N, but that isn't the code on the battery.

02y=Eve C for cell, B for lithium, but it isn't a 71, it is a 66. I tried to find a 66 and was unable to. likewise, I couldn't figure out how to decipher date code "ACD".

I think so too. The QR code has the model number and the watt hour printed on the label. Mine do not. So possibly a later version of the LF280.

I would be more concerned about the capacity than when the cells were manufactured. If properly stored then the capacity test should still be good.

Hasn't the date code been "busted" yet? I had one vendor say the date isn't in the QR code, but it clearly is based on that PDF. I was told these were made in June, if so, ACD should be June. Does anyone have any known to be new cells to see what they say?

The LF280K QR code posted recently had a date of B4F and a model code of 76.

If they are using the same date code system, presumably the B4F for the K would be newer, and the model code of the 76 being higher than 71 for the N and mine which is 66. Here again, does EVE consistently increase the model number per version?

I mentioned I don't have a load tester. Is it worth it to spend the $50 just to see if these batteries are what they claim to be?

Thanks

BTW, did BASEN shipped the cells from warehouse in Southern California or from other state? My replacement came from Southern California.

I didn't. I capacity tested mine after I hooked them up in series and relied on the BMS's results as well as a cheap DROK that uses a hall effect sensor. They were within a couple amps of each other and I ended up being happy with the results considering what I paid for the cells.

You could do the same as I did and if you are not happy with the results then you might need to capacity test the weak cell(s) if you were looking to get a resolution from Basen.
