At this point... if you are buying From Alibaba/Aliexpress you deserve what you get.

WOW,
These guys got hit the hardest OMG:

TRASH! Look they even have mud on them! Fresh from the flooded buss and into the hands of westerners who will buy anything.
So you bought some bad cells, and if so from whom?

There are only a few reputable sources for cells here in Europe. One of them is GWL - cost of a 135Ah LifePO4 cell (their Elerix brand): 105$, without VAT nor shipping. They also have Winston cells: 260Ah, 334$ without VAT nor shipping.
EVEurope has Sinopoly and CALB cells - 200Ah for 295€, 100Ah for 190€ respectively.
Finally, there is Innopower which has EVE 280Ah cells, cost: 252€ without VAT nor shipping - with a 10% discount if you buy 500...

So yeah... I'm buying from Alibaba and I've not had any issues in doing so. YMMV of course, but in my opinion it's worth the risk; just don't go for the first cheapest batch you see.
WOW, Sounds like an opportunity for an Enterprising Individual to start a Euro-Battery-Shop ! Those numbers are NUTZ hehehe....
You used $ & € $1.00 USD = €0.847 at todays rate.

Yeah, I thought about it, but lack the time... I might re-evaluate. Too bad Finland is in the middle of nowhere compared to the rest of Europe and shipping anything from here is slow and expensive.

Not much better here in Canada. All the parts for domestic Li batteries come from China so if you buy from a domestic supplier they charge you more up front to cover the warranty and return. I have no problem paying less and self-warranting products. I also never pay for extended warranties on anything.

I've yet to order via those two.

I tried BigBattery only to find the rumors true (bad quality).

At the moment I have a 10kw UFO and 5KW Gyll. I feel like I'd had a hard time building a similar rig/quality for less money.

Until someone offers fast shipping full size house battery's for $5,000 (or less) with a warranty I can't blame anyone for buying from those two places if they are willing to take the time/energy/effort and can get a great deal and buy from a known vendor.

I know I'm pulling this thread off-topic, but I have been planning this thing for the local market here and I'm currently testing the prototype:
Cottage package.png
Essentially a solar panel, batteries, inverter, charge controller etc. in one. Aimed at the thousands of cottages here that don't have power or rely on a generator. So maybe not directly a battery cell provider, but something related anyway. This is one of the reasons I've been buying a bunch of cells from different vendors, because using European suppliers to build this would price this out of range of the target audience.

In Ay

Similar to Australia.
Buying here would cost me over $15,000 vs $5000 from Amy.

Wow just saw Will Prowse Latest video, even he got PUFF PASTRY 300Ah probably form a wrecked bus. I'm guessing the refurb CATL 300s.

SAD.

Come to think of it, has anyone opened up a CHINS battery? What type of cells were in it? Where the refurb CATL the ones with FAKE QR code to the side?
Havent purchased there but did recently look cuz Im panel shopping.

Im not anti- China products but did wonder y everything from there was super cheap with outstanding performance listed.

Spooked me. 'sounds to good to be true then it prob is'

No.

Some folks will be drawn to the simplicity.

Recall why Dell's All-In-One PC failed = ppl learned quick when for ex the monitor broke, entire pc was down and add insult to injury, had ditch entire thing.

Get the drift?

...

This sucks, I AM DONE. You all can keep gambling your money with this.

ONLY buy on amazon or ebay with a USA return address.
This is my policy, so far, because too many questions about risks remain unanswered. And I'm not too sure about ebay. ;) But, every now and then I follow a search to AliExpress, or some such, and I'm tempted.

@anadiner Each component is serviceable on its own.
That would make a difference added with an extended warranty option.

Reason:
Most folks arent DIY and would have wait on technician anyway so that part passes.

Dells mistake was being unprepared. By time saw the problem, ppl had bad taste and had moved on.

U sound exactly like me: Ebay lately has me spooked also. Recently bought panels from guy in Hong Kong then he emailed wanting more money. Literally by time I saw the email, he had refunded and reposted = Im not allowed to feedback on refunded item.

It was a rip. His account only month old with many identical listings. Sells item 'buy now' then ask for more money. If u dont respond asap, literally like immediately, refund repost.

EU law stipulates that you must give the consumer a minimum 2-year guarantee (legal guarantee) as a protection against faulty goods, or goods that don't look or work as advertised. In some countries national law may require you to provide longer guarantees.

I don't I think you are an idiot if you buy loose cells but you are taking a big gamble, the cat is out of the bag and the word on the China Market these American fools will buy everything.

I'm telling you all these floods happening, these electric busses...
Oh. I hadn't thought that it wasn't just people drowned, en masse. :(
But it raises an interesting question, for me at least. Are LiFePO4 batteries harmed by being submerged? How much? How long? How come (in the case of cells which are sealed)? I suppose the currents through muddy water might discharge them, which isn't healthy. Anything else?

If everything goes in one box, where does the box go? Outside, I assume, so it can be in the sun. Which, I think, could cause it to become too warm, or cold, or wet. How does it connect from where it is to where the power is needed? If the inverter is in the package, will there be an extension cord running across the lawn, or?

The fine print is the deal-maker/breaker for me.

- In home technical repair guarantee would make this thing sell out fast.

- Not the ones, u pay shipping... we will replace parts... or replace item...

Just fix it pls.

That kinda warranty on a Solar product would reel in those solar interested but scared technically.

Add a good warranty, this thing will triple+ solar interest.

Outside. This is Finland, so it's not going to get too hot even in summer. It'll be a waterproof box. And yes, outdoor rated (rubber) extension cord. Keep in mind, this is intended for small cottages that don't have electric to begin with, or indoor plumbing/running water, often on an island. Something like this:

This is how it goes here usually. For example, I had an Acer projector that failed after a year or so - they sent the UPS courier at their expense to pick it up and replaced it.
