CATL 271Ah cell issues.

Did Andy mention where he got the cells from?
It's on his website:

Shenzhen Qishou.

What's also cool is the supplier has posted a snippet of Andy's video on their website.

I wonder if they asked for permission... @Off-Grid-Garage ??
Well, I think Andy posted an affiliate link to the Alibaba site, so posting his video is probably closing the loop. Kind of a quid pro quo. Besides, I think as long as you use the YouTube link you can put pretty much any published video on your site. At least that has always been my understanding.

The affiliate link generates business for the seller, and the commission comes from Alibaba, not the seller, so both parties win already.

Definitely not. You can embed a video, but you can't just take a snippet and use it as a commercial. Same reason why you could take a video from Will in it's entirety and embed it, but not just take a snippet that makes you look good and use that on your business site.

Now, I'm not trying to argue about this or anything, it's just something that I wanted to make sure he knows about and is ok with.

Oh ooops. I should pay attention before I respond. I missed the "snippet" part. I just thought it was Andy's video embedded in the store page. My bad.

I haven't and didn't plan to as I didn't have a capacity tester originally... however have buckled and ordered one from Aliexpress which should be here in the next week or so will try doing some then although it is only one of the 180W ones so may take a while.. I have a Smart BMS on order as well so may try a capacity check of the whole built pack when that arrives... Whilst not ideal I am having to be be a bit pragmatic about the purchase for my particular circumstances.... orignally I was going to buy 270Ah cells which are going in a campervan... when I came to order and 310's were available I opted for those so my pack is oversized..... providing these cells provide at least 270ah then it would probably be of no benefit for me to try and return them/raise a dispute because the price of getting another set of cells (which may or may not be any better or have the same issues) will probably be higher now (these came duty free to the UK) and the length of time it would take to do the return, the risk of no refund and having to purchase another set means I will stick with what I have.... if they test out to less than 270 then that would be a game changer and I would have to reconsider my options. I have also opened the bus bars package and they are cheap pressed aluminum.... I am using them whilst charging/top balancing but never intended to use them in the pack as I was going to add packing between the cells and flexible bus bars due to the vehicle movement/vibration.. Will let you know once I have some figures...
I too uprated my purchase to provide some more capacity and chose the 302AH. I am also disappointed by the 'battery bus bars' which are cheap and dangerous.

However, I have the 40A ZKETECH here and have now tested 50% of the cells. Capacity is all over the place ranging from 282 to 305. In contrast to some new 105AH cells, I purchased from Amy they were virtually identical at 108AH each.

There have now been shipments from 3 different suppliers show up beat to crap.

I have 25 boxes of cells that were delivered to me that have been beat up. My son will be sending me pictures of them in the next couple of days.

MCJEFE's cells came from my main supplier, who I have had very very little problem with in terms of shipping damage in the past.

I am working hard on getting this shit taken care of as best I can.

1. Where do things currently stand?
2. Did you send all of the photos you have had emailed to the supplier?
3. Can you begin to breakdown who's cells came from what supplier (supplier can be defined as A, B, and C for now).
4. Which suppliers have you contacted and what is their response.

Your response is greatly anticipated.

Were I in Michael's shoes, I'd only answer questions pertaining to your specific order and cells - you're openly threatening him and his livelihood on this forum with your other thread, so I'd be surprised if he answered questions which could only expose him further to legal action. By going on the offensive you've only built a wall where he is going to more strictly limit his posts and interactions.

I suppose since you're all about clarity and communication you'd be willing to answer similar questions about your union:

1. How many people have given you information about their interactions with Michael?
2. Have you contacted a legal professional for advice regarding your or other's orders?
3. Where do things currently stand?
4. How much money did your union and its participants spend with Michael?

Your response is greatly anticipated.

Getting the answers to your questions would only make this matter more public.

While I agree that most order issues should be kept private (the OP issue is public). The fact remains that Michael has not been responsive to all issues (I feel sorry for him he really should hire help). He already is limiting his posts and interactions.

I would really like the answers to the questions @Mightymach asked but it's really Micheal's place to answer it or not. But, I do want answers for my order (Michael did say he sent my pics over). I don't know if I'm getting new cells or a refund and it seems like the OP is over 30 days without clear resolution(maybe he kept it private?). So any info about this helps me (us? not you specifically) cope with the uncertainty.

It's probably time to realize this isn't a group buy any longer but a Cell supplier just like any of the other companies out there.

This post was very therapeutic for me. Took me like 30 mins to type and sort myself out. Thanks for listening.

You certainly sound like you're acting as egal counsel. Especially for someone that doesn't appear to have a vested interest (ie, you didn't purchase cells). Considering there are dozens of people affected, I fail to see your purpose for lashing out at me. Are you acting as legal counsel? Are you trying to be a keyboard hero? Are you trying to get a deal on a future order?

The fact of the matter remains; many people have been financially impacted and you are more concerned with anything other than making people whole.

In conclusion, I have never once threatened michael or his livelihood. I will not answer your questions as they are irrelevant to you, or to my question above.

@Michael B Caro can you provide the requested information?

Thank you.

What gets me is this.
If you got a fucked up cell from Alibaba of aliexpres, what can you do . ?
Nothing. They are in china.
So michael helps by getting a better price , and because he is in the us , he is a target.
So relax everyone, at least we have him battling on our side. Win or loose , it's still better than dealing direct with china .
And yes , I have over $8k invested in all this shit. So yes I have a dog in the fight.

You certainly sound...

I did purchase and am still waiting for my CATL 271 cells I ordered in June.

I'm responding to your posts because it's people like you who jump the gun and immediately go on the offensive that make life harder for the rest of us. The actions and veiled threats you've promoted in your own thread and in other threads are only going to cause him to quiet even further. Every time he posts with some update you immediately attack him suggesting it's not enough, and encouraging others to join your club.

This only results in delaying updates, and makes it clear to others that they shouldn't start group buys and shoulder the burden that dealing with oversea products incurs.

I respect your opinion, and am sorry for the difficulty you're suffering from this purchase, however I'm not going to let your public attacks go by without comment. My questions to you are as relevant to me as your questions to Michael are to you.

You are toxic to this forum.
