Hi all .I am Gillie a beginner diyer trying to learn the solar lite system. Have a Cobra 2500 watt continuous modify sine wave inverter (CPI 2500). Want to start with a 12V lead acid battery. Inverter has three AC outputs later i want to add 12v DC devices, manual suggests Bussman ANL- 250 fuse or alternatives (what are)? Inverter has two red positives and two black negatives #4 AWG . The 2 reds to attach to the battery positive post, blacks negative post, if i am to put a fuse inline on the red is it ok to cut just one of the reds and insert the fuse there since both reds are connected to positive terminal or do i have to do both reds?? Thanks for your attention.

Hmmm. 250A fuse on 4AWG wire is bad. 4AWG can't handle anywhere near that much amperage.

The current is shared equally in a parrallel circuit, therefore the fuse would need to be connected to both positive wires however it would be better to fuse each with an appropriately rated fuse.

Thanks for the info Maddy. Another suggests i use 125 A fuse on both red wires. Believe you are correct. Going to try this.
