Rosen Solar from Alibaba, anyone have experience?

Y
I bought 2 Deyes from Rosen solar. They’re sitting in my barn. I should have them hooked up in the next couple of weeks I hope.
Yeah they (Rosen) dont care but deye wont directly...

Finally someone posted ul listing. Only thing I really see is difference kw inverter size and charge controller specs way smaller. Of course different software. Does it come with ct sensors? So you can feed main panel without having electrical company come out to turn off meter to flip wires around?? ? warranty is cut in half too 5 years. I would rather buy a sol ark 12k for $6500 but that's just me.
Solark/sunsynk are the "premium" versions of the deye inverter but essentially the same, dor instance the solark 12 is a 8k inverter with a larger mppt and pass through....and from what i have found they did not design this inverter but modified it to their needs/wants after licensing it for exclusive sales in the u.s.a

if you compare the same models numers ( ie 8 kw to 8 kwh and 12 kw to 12 kw ), you find they all are exactly the same devices...
as far as i have been able to find out, the only difference so far in gui is fonts and images

Solark list thier 12k as inverting at 8k
Also the deye 12 last i checked was 3 phase, i have not seen them list a 12k split phase version.

the sol-ark 8k is not the deye 12k :)
they deye 8k = sol-ark 8K

let's not get into the "advertising" scheme... do a search, and see if you can find a sol-ark 12k going over 8k..
it's a modified deye 8k with higher voltage mppt's

Reread post #107 above...i just said that...

Well 3k more comparing 12k sol ark vs 8k deye for 10 year warranty vs 5 years. Little Bigger inverter size , usa customer support, larger mppt controller. Better case design. Software that looks like higher efficiency I would just stick to sol ark. It's at least then half a month of work on difference cost so I careless and not lose sleep over. That's just me. Every one has preference and I'll buy something that has little more performance and warranty coverage. I bought 3 inverters over seas. In last 5 years that failed. Warranty is joke anything from china. A they won't honor warranty or shipping cost to have it sent back and forth cost more then the item and has chance of being denied. Plus turn around time turns into a year.
In the last year we have had many new members that swear by solark without ever mentioning they own one and they only post on the threads speaking of solark...this is is a d.i.y forum so of cousre many will love the deye as it provides a cost effective entry to solar with a ton of features, all we have to do is add circiut breakers... it wont be what many want for various reasons but it is undeniably the genesis of the popular american branded/modified version... just for perspective i can have 16kw of actual inversion , mppt capacity of 20k and all if the features for 4k...but thats just me i like the under dog.

Says the guy who’s first post is in this thread after registering same day.

Me like them too, good quality products, nice people, ships very fast. Lol

Just an update on my order.

Placed on June 20th for 2x8k deye inverters and 6x48v, 200ah powerwalls plus a combiner box.

Total price paid to Rosen (including $600 in shipping) is just shy of $17,900 + 3% credit card fee. I did negotiate the price down by $6-700 from the original price they quoted. They did ask that I pay outside of Alibaba to save them on credit card fees, but I insisted we go through trade assurance and they agreed, but knocked off $100 from the discounts they gave me.

Rosen so far has been good to deal with. Only issue is that I wasn't aware I needed to hire a customs agent stateside.... but that's not their fault, so as a result I didn't get a certain form filled out in time (hope that doesn't bite me later).

Package was loaded onto a ship around Aug 18 (about 2 months after order).
It is expected to arrive in LA on September 7, and then on to Tulsa arriving Sept 15.... so it will end up being about a 3 month delivery time.

For additional shipping costs so far....

Paid $500 to set up a bond (required for customs, but I think I overpaid for this due to short timing... probably should have been under $100).
another $290 paid for the port fees.

I then expect another 25% on the 18,000 ($4500) for tariffs. So I'm expecting my all in price to be somewhere around $24k, or about $3,000/ea for the inverters and batteries.

That shipping time is crasy but its cheaper with the heavy batteries.

Good point..... But there are MAJOR delays in shipping all over the world right now. I think my shipment had to wait almost a full month in port in Shanghai before they could get it on a ship. I'm also expecting that there could be a couple extra weeks in delays in LA as well, but I'll find out soon enough. But they only charged $600 for the shipping, which is WAY less than a thought it would be.

If you dont mind what was the cbm for your shipment?

I personally have experience with Rosen. They are complete jerks and I suggest everyone steer clear. Here are the reasons:

1. They refuse to add reasonable terms to orders that every other vendor will agree to.
For example, they say to you "We can ship that item in 1-2 weeks" but if you ask them to add that to the terms of the order, they will refuse. In fact they even refused to add terms agreeing to a refund if the order didn't ship in 3 months!

2. They won't honor prices they agreed too.
On Tues they agree to price X, then when you go to pay on Wed, you find that the price has increased $300 from what they promised, and if you complain they tell you to go pound sand.

3. Every price on their website is a lie
Others have mentioned this, but all their listed prices are pure clickbait and usually 1/5 of the actual price of the item.

4. Their prices are higher than other vendors for the same item.
This was true of every product I checked.

5. They try to force you to transact all deals outside of Alibaba, so you have literally no protection if they fail to deliver the goods. For example they try to force you to transact outside of Alibaba and send your funds by bank transfer. This is a violation of Alibaba terms. Hopefully someone will eventually report them so they have their Alibaba account cancelled.

6. They demand you pay an extra $200 for every transaction you do through the Alibaba system. Another violation of Alibaba terms.

7. They use high pressure selling tactics.
"This price is good for 24 hours."

8. The salesperson enjoys trying to start fights with you in Chinglish.
Actual quote:
"But you ignore this , you have your own idea but not confirmed, that is why you have many question"

9. They threaten you with legal action if you factually report their abusive behavior on forums like this.

In conclusion, they are the worst company I've tried to work with on Alibaba. Somebody really needs to report them. I'd do it but Alibaba makes reporting problems like this difficult and I don't have time to bother with i

PLease keep us posted on this and I will do the same

Sorry, missed the reply button previously.
I am a WA state business, with prior experience ordering from Alibaba/China. I spent a LOT of time talking to many different manufacturers and settled on Rosen for the powerwalls. I did not by PV from them - they told that with the tariffs it was too hard to sell PV to the US. I since wonder about that part but in any case besides the shipping delay am very happy with the process of working with them on the powerwalls and inverters.
For the inverters - they are resellers for Growatt and DEYE, but seem to have the best prices I found for each, and the units I received were as advertised.
Just to be clear, you purchased the 8K Deye US version split phase 240V from Rosen? I see they also sell power walls at 48V 200ah for around $2k. Are those legit also? I noticed they forged the certification on their panels, so am a bit leery of a company who would do that.
