Sorotec REVO II 5,5Kw / EASUN( AXPERT/POWLAND) IGRID VE II 5,5KW

Like probably all hybrid (all in one) they are noisy.
In a shed or so, not a problem.
The Revo II has a dust filter, depending on your environment you might need to clean this regularly.

For me, having 3 units in/close to our bedroom, I felt the need to silence them, and now they are whisper silent.

That's easy to do, with the right equipment.
Last one took me several purchases to have the good type fans.

Problem with most hybrids is the 80mm fans.
They are high quality, double bearing fans who can produce a lot of static pressure to suck out via restricted areas or blow into it.

And they do a great job, with matching noise level.

Only fans I found that have equal pressure and are silent, are the "high speed" silent wing 3, 120mm.
They aren't cheap, liquid bearing, and will last about 25-30 years.

I build a duct and have 2 fans blowing inside, and 2 fans sucking out.
Sucking fans are controlled by the Revo II (watch the original wire location, it's different from the standard 4pin)
Blowing fans have own 12v power supply and are thermal speed controlled.

Probably one would be enough.
One set of 2 absolutely is enough.

In the past I've lost a few Inverters (different brand, type, model) that had failing thermal management.
With -$1800 due to this, the $ 25 per silent wing fan suddenly is cheap :)
I'm a guy of better safe then sorry..

+ Result, the fans run on lower speeds, even more silent.
At full load, 4500w solar in, 3000 watt out, still whisper silent.

Total power consumption is less then the original 2 X 80mm fans.

Thank you for your posts regarding the SOROTEC Inverters and their contact details, I have sent them a few emails and awaiting their feedback....

I am operating several EASUN ISolar SMR II 5.5KW ( REVO-VM II 5.5KW ) inverters in parallel ( single phase ). I received a replacement motherboard and now one inverter gives the error code 19 firmware inconsistent.

I note that you have provided intrsuctions and firmware for another model in one of your posts, might you have, be able to get or can provide me the linke to the firmware for my model inverter ?

I have just purchased online the J-Link and F-F jumper wires and now am awaiting their delivery.

I still need the various firmwares.

Yes, i agree with you.

The working modes are not very detailed, and i bought it thinking i could export energy even with the use of the battery. This doesnt happen.
If i use the AC+PV mode, i can export energy but i can't use the battery. In this mode the battery only act as a UPS backup. It doesn't make any sense to me. I should be able to use the battery because the inverter as sensors that could prevent to get power from the grid if the battery is charged, in the AC+PC mode ( grid-tied mode ).

Yesterday i has calibrating the inverter battery voltage, battery current, PV voltage and current, and for my surprise i has able to use the CT function even with the 400volts PV array.

One problem i have noticed and reported back to Sorotec Engineer is that in the battery config, i select the USER mode and set bulk and float voltages, and the bulk mode doesn't stop in the correct voltage. I have set to 56volts and the charger only reduces charging in about 57 volts. I dont know if it is a firmware bug.

Another thing i have see, is yesterday during the day and before i calibrated the equipment, the inverter got to float voltage, stayed there for some time keeping the battery at the voltage set but for 3 times it started to charge the battery full to bulk mode, this without any major load or battery discharged.... After 16:30 i has calibrating the inverter with battery only conected and no loads, so the graph is strange at that time.

Do you have noticed any beaviour like this in your inverter? what is you firmware versions?

I would appreciate your feedback on the noise level of the Sorotec Revo ii - 5.5kw.
Did you find it to be noisy? what is the dB level of the inverter?
Or is it only noisy when the fans are running, if so, how frequent does the fans run?

Hi, I confirmed when I chose AC+PV or solar or AC mode,The battery will act as a UPS (just only charging whatever I change setting). Only the way we can use batteries after sunset as normal usage is the timer breaker and sub-panel. So CT sensor is useless at nights.
 
From the pictures you have max out the PV capability, since it is displaying more than 5000W in the PV array. I should have divided that power to several REVOS, not only in one. If you are solar only, not battery, the inverter will give as much power as the PV can supply and you are exceeding that power.

The difference may come from the difference you have in both PV arrays, since it is trying to max them out and pull the least amount of grid power as possible. You have 700w in one and the other is 500W from the grid, and that is very similar.

If you had the same amount of PV in each inverter, maybe it would match the load on each?!?!?

Also without battery you have nothing to compensate, and in parallel is always advisable to have batteries connected.

Also i think it is normal that even in parallel the load are not even distributed by them.

But, with this inverters, you will never know.

I'm having a lot of issues with mine. First the CT limiting would functions, i had mppt malfunctions sometimes. After testing with lower PV voltage, they work but it should work also in the PV voltage range of the specs, not in a particular voltage.

Also, my bulk charging is not stopping at the 56V i set, but much higher, past 57.2. Float charging was working but since 2 days ago, it just doesn't. It doesn't go to float mode, set to 54.4 volts. Yesterday the battery just when all down to 53.3 volts and settle there because there wasn't no load. I have set it as i should, selected lithium first, and then User, but still no joy. I don't have any idea why the bulk goes so high since i set it at a specific voltage, but the inverter ignores it. I done do procedure again, yesterday. Let me see today if the inverter gods are doing :rolleyes:.

The inverter was not calibrated, and with 0 load or charge, it was displaying 7 amps, not real. I got it calibrated and now it is reading fine.

My major problem with this brands and inverter is that is zero support, they could just give us updated firmware's to try to solve this issues. If they wanted, they could just get some guys to do beta testing, in several conditions. This would do a jump in the development of this inverter, that is specs are great but in reality, just don't work.

I'm stuck with this for now, but I'm looking at MPP or Growatt inverter. The MPP Hybrid V2, it as the same features of this one, but with no touch screen. Im also interested in the new MPP 8000 series, seam a good option for power upgrade.
What is the exact max battery voltage this inverter can use? Do you have a link for the manual?

sorry for my lack of time. I try to make the video tomorrow how to calibrate. Be ware that when i made the calibration perfect the inverter would do float. maybe in your it will, i dont know. In mine i belive that it has to be a amp diference in the battery amp display to the float work. Mine is running now uncalibrated in the battery side and it is floating, but in calibration you can adjust PV voltage, PV amps, battery voltage, battery amps etc.
 
I did only the battery voltage and it reduced the misreading, mis measuments from the Revo, yet not fully 100%.
But close enough.
The rest I did in adjust the settings with the offset.
Half a voltage isn't that important.

Solar, my measurements are matching that of the Revo, no need to change.

you can adjust some things like PV voltage and PV amps ( you will need a multimeter and clamp to mesure amps. )
When you adjust the battery amps and voltage you will get correct grid power.

The only down side, in my case is that i lost float capability by calibrating, and float is important to me to keep the pack full, so i had to put the battery amps at 8 amps ( when it is 0 amps from or to battery ). But i will give it another go tomorrow and make a video about it for you guys.
 
The Revo II Is build by Sorotec, perhaps that EASun is OEM them.

For parallel, all units must have same firmware, otherwise strange things happen

Also, grounding of the solar array can not be shared.

Manual is really clear about it.

Battery less operation is a nice feature to use when doing maintenance on the battery.
If I start my 2000 watt pump, lights go out
Slowly increase the load with steps of +/- 250w, 2500 watt, not a problem...
(Depending on the sun)

Battery less operation is not intended for parallel!!
For obvious reasons.
If the master goes down..

You will get troubles with frequency.

I don't believe I've seen anywhere that battery less operation with parallel is supported.

What can I say.

I have them for about 18 months and happy with them.

Noise was an issue, that's fixed :)

For off grid, they are great
On grid? I can't tell.
No grid to test with :)

Some about the discharge of the battery during grid connection.

Not sure if you have noticed the discharge (peak and Valley) settings??
In my first firmware I was able to select time frames for discharge, and even feed back to the grid from the battery.

There have been many updates since.

Discharge is, I think / assume give power to your house or feed to the grid, as some electricity companies pay low price during daytime, but higher at night.

Hello, yes I have a SOROTEC LiFePO4 48v 100Ah battery and I have experienced sudden discharge overnight, at a time I had as little as 150W per hour consumption in average. Maybe because of the Grid tie? can you explain how to solve this please?
 
Hello, I have the SOROTEC LiFePO4 battery, 48V 100 Ah, and attached is the datasheet. I installed it along with a SOROTEC REVO II 5.5 KW inverter since August 2021. Few weeks ago I got these two fault codes:
Fault Code: 80280000
Warning Code: 80000200
these are still displayed now in the inverter screen once you click to see the battery status. Can anybody help decipher those 2 error codes? I asked for the user manual from SOROTEC but no luck in getting that so far. Thanks for the help in advance !!

A friendly hello to everyone. I am DE and live in TH. A SOROTEC REVO II 5.5 KW inverter with 200AH LiFePO4 battery also works here. I am very satisfied with the device.
My question: Which monitor software do you use and how do you connect? "DessMonitor" or the "SmartESS" app works but my account always starts again at 0KWh when I reach 65KWh, I can't find a server administrator who can change the setting. The "SolarPower" software looks good, but is there anything better for Sorotec?

I have a couple of the SUN 1000G2 GTIL inverters in the basement and the fan noise is my biggest gripe.

I stumbled onto the Eason hybrids searching for a quieter replacement but would appreciate to understand from owners how quiet or loud the fan noise is.

Indeed, replaced with new fans.
They aren't cheap.

I tried "no name" liquid baring, who absolutely aren't doing the trick, even push pull setup.

These are 3.200 / 5.500 watt inverters with 5.500 watt MPPT.

Mppt's are working at full capacity, inverters at 40-50% with dips at night 10-15% and peaks of 90%

Say 7.500-9000 watt that's being processed by the mppt/inverter combo.

With it, adequate cooling is mandatory.

In lower power intensive environment, the cheaper liquid baring fans might work for you.

It does depend on the free flowing of air via the hot components and heatsinks.

Like a CPU cooler can be cooled easy due its design, but that crappy car AC inverter or lifepo4 AC charger with Jet engine like fan noise... They are small, restricted flow and need high pressure fans to to the trick.
High pressure = high speed (or multistage)

My pressure pump for reverse osmosis has 11 impellers..
And does double the pressure the (constant) failing diaphragm pumps have. They could not handle the continuous high pressure for long time.

The right tool for the right job, where there is always a trade-off.
Cheap and small but noisy
Not so cheap and huge (multi stage, stacking fans) and silent
Pricey and silent... High quality fans.
 
The amount of noise...
That's a difficult one!!!

Depends on the environment noise, and the pitch tone.

There is a huge thread on a computer forum about fans and their noise + noise perception.

Then there is environment temperature and the room itself who might acousticly increase or greatly reduce the noise perception.
The egg boxes on the wall for music studio :)

For me, standing close (1.5 meter) from the inverters at full production
(Say the 4500 watt solar mppt + 3000 watt inverting) it would give me a headache in a few minutes.
I could not make normal conversation, and felt relieved when leaving that room.

At night, just a few hundred watts inverting, sleeping 3-4 meters from the inverters, you could clearly hear them, like older (1995-2000) desktop computer. (Before heat pipes)

Now after the modification, I hear the airconditioning who is 5-6 meters away from the inverters while they "pump" at maximal performance...

Hardly can hear then at all.
My laptop makes more noise.

Sorry for the late reply.
I was in Europe for a few months.

I have no experience with the lifepo4 batteries from sorotec.
The codes you mentioned are specific for them, and have to do with BMS.

Please contact their support department for this.

Discharge at night happens.
It's normal that an inverter eats electricity when turned on.

Forget about all the nice specs on paper, they are only on paper.

Victron (A brand) 3200 inverter uses in standby (no AC power used) 50 watts, in real life.
(See some of the older videos of "off grid garage" on YouTube)

The Revo II 3200 uses instandby about 50-75 watts, the 5500 75-100 watts.

More than the high priced top class Victron, sure.
For the price difference...
That's a huge win for the Sorotec (and other brands)
(Just add more battery and a panel..
And take the family out to dinner several times from the money saved)

It's not just the extra power consumption that is a difference between Victron, if I could afford...
Everything just works and keeps on working.
To tweaking and puzzles like with China crap....

Power usage, draining at night is a real thing that you should take in account when building the system.

Like MPPT and inverter losses, plus lifepo4 losses.

In simple terms, all that gets warm/hot is energy you aren't using, unless you want to use it to heat up your room :)

I'm absolutely interested in the video!!

For me with daily cycling the batteries, floating isn't important.
It's either being charged, fully charged (and doing some balancing) or being used.

In a more static environment, being normally fully charged, having it at 85- 90% max capacity do has many benefits for lifetime.

That it dips a bit at night, what's being recharged during day time, I would call this a good thing, active battery is better then passive.
Shallow cycles.
I'm talking a few hundred watts on a 100ah, 51.2Ah battery (or larger)
Probably depends on the size of the battery if shallow cycles are noticeable or almost not at all :)
