Travel Trailer upgrade LiFePo4 - I installed an AmpereTime 200 Ah LiFePo4 with the 200amp bms. No inverter just figured the 200 bms would last longer and future proofing. The trailer still has the original Converter 55 amp SLA type charger {WFCO 9855} built in to the fuse box. I have 200 watt solar Renogy suitcase and a Renogy DC-DC
20 amp unit for Tow Vehicle charging. Instead of removing the converter built-in I am thinking of just adding this,

Victron Energy Blue Smart IP22 12-Volt 30 amp 120V

Much easier to install and it has Bluetooth. Also I can put a switch to shut it off if I want. Any opinions on this?

Of course it is only on when connected to 120v.

Anything detrimental. Thank for insights.
 
My WFCO maintains 13.7v when there is a current draw on the system and will drop to 13.2 if there's no activity for a couple of days. It's supposed to put out 14.4v when the batteries are low, but it never does. Only 13.7v. I've connected an automotive charger at the same time to boost the charging without any ill effects.

Just make sure your battery can handle the float voltage.
 
I had a similar question to yours OP. I was going to replace the charger in my WFCO with the Victron Blue Smart IP22 12-Volt 30 Amp because I want to configure very specific custom charging profiles for my LiFePo4 batteries. Once replaced I was hoping the Victron will also power my 12v appliances when plugged into shore power but im not sure. The documentation of the Victron says it has a power supply function but I would be leaving it in its charging mode because it will be charging the battery in addition to powering the 12v appliances.

It would do what you want except it doesn't provide AC and the 30 amp out is not the 55 amp capacity of the original converter. I would not use it as a replacement. Your appliances pull from the battery and you are charging at the same time so any draw over 30 amps would draw your battery down. I was just going to use it as an add on when plugged into 120v it would be programmable to the correct voltage and float whereas the factory converter is OK but doesn't fully charge the battery. I do have solar to charge LiFePO4 correctly and may just use that to top off and not worry about it.
