diy solar

Complete solar novice, out to sea.

That picture shows a 7 pin tow cable.
That provides power for the trailer brakes, brake lights, turn signals and provides a minimal charge to the battery.

When did we establish this?
I asked you if everything worked and you said it was all tested before purchase.
Did I misunderstand?

Ah so there is a truck.
I thought this thing was a static setup.

Shore power is alternating current.
Unless the truck has an inverter, probably not.
Thank you for your help! ?

Are you anywhere, like, say, northern Vermont? I, umm, know a guy with a vom and wire cutters…

While I don’t see excellent wiring conventions in your pics, I agree that it has yet to be determined everything is junk. If there’s still an RV ‘converter’ involved, establishing and verifying existing function could save a great deal of time and provide direction to what to repair or change when.

Status? Did you get it functional?
Hey! Thanks for the input. I’m sorry I didn’t reply sooner. No, I’m afraid I didn’t… been rushed off my feet and the project has been postponed yet again.
I hear you… It adds insult to injury, because the reason we bought all the parts for the system Will had up on YouTube was to ensure we could get it done fast and with very little fuss. Now it’s just me, and frankly I would much prefer a relative clean slate than I would determining what is and isn’t functional. Thanks again ?
