65 ah panasonic car battery

Hi, I'm new to solar and I am just getting started with a renogy starter kit for my shed. I'd like to know if it's safe and doable to use a panasonic car battery 65ah. I wanted to try this first before I spend the big bucks on a solar battery. Im going to be charging ego lawn equipment batteries and my e-bike. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm just new and learning. Thanks for the help.

"safe"? Sure.

Car batteries are not designed to cycle. They are designed to provide large current for a very short period of time while at a high state of charge and to be immediately re-charged.

If you're just using it to power an inverter while solar panels provide the actual charge power, and the battery isn't cycled much, it should be fine.

If you keep the discharges very shallow - not more that about 13Ah ever extracted from the battery, it should have decent longevity.

If you regard the battery as "disposable" in this learning exercise, there are no concerns. Just don't expect the battery to last long if you cycle it frequently.

If you're willing to trash it for the learning experience, the battery you already have.

Without an understanding of your actual needs/consumption, I can't recommend anything specific.
