Greece announces COVID-19 vaccines will now be obligatory for everyone 60 years or older. Failure to do so will incur a monthly fine of $113 and the money will go towards funding hospitals strained by the pandemic.

Noenegdod already pays for the overweight people, those with lung cancer from smoking, those who drove too fast and injured themselves or others, etc, etc. If he gets COVID and against the odds requires hospitalization he will most likely pay for his own care to the extent it is required.

His point has been that he takes care of himself and he should not be required to do something to his body just to help protect those who haven't bothered protecting themselves through a healthy lifestyle.

There is not 0 risk to the vaccine, and there is not 99.7% effectiveness from the vaccine, so he believes based on the information that is out there he is making the best decision for himself.

We should care who gets vaccinated because the unvaccinated people are the ones that developed a High Viral load and thus allow the virus to fester in their bodies for weeks. This is the typical way that mutations are created.
If Omnicron is not already the break through Virus then believe me we are not far away from getting one.

Think about what a vaccine resistant strain means to you. If your thinking pfizer will quickly come up with a new vaccine think again. Even if they do make one in a month, it will still have to go through all the Trial phases and production, all of which which will take at best about 6 months before the first shots are ready. So you can expect for at least another year we will all be in lockdown again with full mask usage and everything except essential businesses closed.

Many companies will not survive this. Cruise ship Industry and many airlines will be the first to go bankrupt.
Cinema chains, Restaurants and most retail stores will also go under. Most likely across the globe you will see Governments being overthrown and replaced by military dictatorships.

This is what we were conjecturing earlier. Moderna and Pfizer already have the DNA and are running tests. If the base mRNA portion of it has already pasted testing they might be fine with fast tracking a tweak to what RNA is tossed at our cells.

Yeah, and I look at the public real world kind of like the public Internet, they don't lock down the Internet even though it is riddled with viruses do they? The government doesn't make laws that everyone must run McAfee or Norton on their PCs to protect them from getting malware (like corporate IT departments force on all their PCs in their Intranets).

We shouldn't lock down the public domain because a few people are afraid of all the many ways one could die.

I just had a colleague today, one of my lab admins call in sick because he has a fever and not feeling well after getting a booster shot yesterday. I have another friend who works somewhere else tell me he got sick with Covid-like symptoms for 2 weeks the day after he got his first vaccine shot.

I am all for if you want to take the vaccine, but please don't force everyone in the public domain to get one too just because you're scared. If you're all safe and protected, then what do you have to worry about if we choose not to get 'protected' like you, you're safe from us (if that vaccine is all as good as they say it is). To avoid this they would need to stay home, or you would. If 70% or 80% are vaccinated and wearing masks, then standard social rules would mean that you would stay home, rather than them, especially in a democratic social system. I enjoy spinning in circles in the middle of a field of wildflowers, but no matter how much I enjoy that sensation I am not allowed to do it on a subway due to rules of the society.

These people should be terrified of Covid19 as well as heart disease, diabetes and another 15 potential health issues. They absolutely should be vaccinated but lets be clear, for them, because they are so brutally overweight, the vaccine is not going to be as effective for them. For example, I never said "everyone", I have been quite consistent saying that it is a 2% chance of dying from covid for the unvaccinated and that that risk of dying is more then 10 times higher than the for the vaccinated. It is easy to find the statistics, just look them up on your favourite search engine and go to reputable sites. Google scholar might help you in that quest.
