I have a Growatt SPF 5000 ES, it has been running well for almost a year, however it has now gone into a Fault State.

Fault code: 02 error

Does anyone perhaps know what would cause this issue and how I can resolve this issue.

Many thanks for the help
Curtis

I am relatively new to solar but if it's like a computer the fan running to cool the unit can draw in dust then the build up of dust will hold in the heat and reduce the cooling efficiency of the fans.

Reboot
Verify that the fans are working.
And, keep an eye on the temperature for a while.

Hi All

Thanks for the replies,

The root cause is simply Humidity, combined with the coast. The PCB,s inside the inverter were so rusted!

I have since replaced with another growatt and I have also provided dehumidifiers into the inverter room, running a few months, no water or rust on the inverter so far.

Please be careful, this is an expensive exercise.

Happy installs,

Best Regards,
Curt

I have humidity in my garage, and have pondered over this problem. Could the inverter be placed in an air tight box?

Ah, yes.
Ok, I don't know about the dimensions or how much heat comes off the inverter, but how about an industrial metal switch box, something like an Eaton, as they have sealed doors?
Could it be possible to sandwich the back of the switch box between inverter on the in side and the heat sink out side? This way the box becomes part of the heat sink?
One idea begets another, maybe it can be improved :)
