12kw Growatt panel questions

I hadn't heard of an update since he started using the Y'ed SCC inputs. kromc5 hasn't been on lately, I'm curious how it is working out. Too many naysayers, yet he has been running this setup.

Do the MPPT's split the amps? Have you seen any problems with this as many claim the 2 MPPT's would constantly be looking for the maximum power point and fight each other to achieve it?
It's working very well, now seeing 400+ amps on sunny days for charging. All sccs are hitting near max of their rated outputs. The ones with 18 panels I had to upgrade the wiring from 6awg to 4awg due to the increased output.

I can only assume that the only reason that it's working is because the MPPT's aren't fully separated, internally. Which would also explain Signature Solar's response to the OP, in this situation.
If I get a chance in the next few days, I'll pull one of my LV6548's out of the back shed and pull the bottom cover off. I don't believe the 2 MPPT's are connected internally. Whether I can trace it far enough we shall see. I might try checking with an ohmmeter, however with output shared it might not be too revealing.

Any chance you can post your schematics or take a photo of your setup? I don't have much experience on these types of forums, so I will see if I can find something you may have posted, but it would be very helpful. I have the Growatt 12000 250v version and have 6 EGll 5.12kw batteries, but I think the 7000w limit for PV will not be enough to charge those batteries, so I bought another Growatt 120a charge controller. I don't know if just paneling that charge controller and hooking straight to the batteries while the batteries are also hooked up the Growatt 12000 inverter is possible, but that was my plan. Is this what you are doing? Your extra charge controllers are hooked straight up to the batteries charging them without going through the inverter?

I have 8 - 120amp controllers hooked up to the batteries to keep them charged. You can also parallel pv inputs to both sides of the charge controller. I can take a few photos, but its not the cleanest setup, due to constant addtions and no room to work.

Here photos of the charge controlles they are connected to the busbards then batteries. I'm still working on cleaning up and changing a few things.

That is a pretty serious system! You mean business. I was making the pics larger to try to figure out your cabling. Those bus bars... sweet. Did you buy everything from one place or source it out over several places?

The bulk of my growatt components came from signaturesolar. The cabling is getting out of hand in such a small room. Each SCC has anywhere from 18 to 12 panels on them. I paralleled the connections to from the array to both sides of the SCC inputs. Those are then run those directly to busbars. Charging on the bank one is around 380 amps and over 160 amps on back 2. Slowly working on the 3rd 12kw and another scc and 4th 4p16s. Here's a few pictures of the 3 batteries.

I took a few pics of the scc parallel wiring to both inputs.

Those blue sea bus bars are nice.
Their on the list for my next phase.
I just picked up 2. They are heavy-duty for sure. I hit the motherload when I went to the place yesterday to get those fuses. I found BlueSea 600A busbars (2), got the covers with it, picked up 2 Class T 400A BlueSea fuses, got the 400a fuse blocks to go with, and one extra for the fuse I ordered from WA state that did not have a block.

Man, that is just impressive! I was looking at your picture where you have the cut-off switches sitting on top. Would you mind answering a question for me? I am trying to figure out which one to buy for my 12V camper set-up. I have 2 Sok 12V in parallel (206A). So, do I need just one cut-off switch since they are in parallel or should I get a double pole cut-off switch? I am assuming the double pole means I can hook 2 red (hot) wires from 2 different sources but I really have no idea how to know what to get. I also need a cut-off (quick disconnect for these EGLL 48V parallel batteries because trying to turn off the breakers on 6 batteries will result in too much time to avert a disaster) but they are in parallel and I don't know how to buy rated for that much voltage/amperes. It would be 600A and 30Kw voltage. Any suggestions? I love to learn, so if you wanted to explain, I am sure future members could benefit if they are newbies like me. I really appreciate those pictures.

That was lucky.

I know, right? I figured there had to be fuses, etc. sitting on a business's shelf that does not have an internet presence and I was right. If you are looking for things you can't find on the internet, start calling electricians, etc., and ask them to check their LOCAL vendors. That is how I came across this.

I do not mind helping at all, I have received so much help here as well. Are you referring to the large 300/400 amp breakers or the smaller two pole under the sccs?

the smaller ones
Thank you so much.

the smaller ones
Thank you so much.
I purchased those last winter, from Dec to early February it was weeks of clouds. I bought those to allow me to move the scc's between bank 1 and 2. I had to move at times two scc to bank 1 which is heating trying and keep it charged. The breakers are 125amp 400v I bought from amazon. If you are not concerned with the shut, breakers like the S5H ABB you can get 2 to 4 pole that handle 400amps / 600v super cheap on ebay. I'm using a couple between the inverters and batteries. The ones with the shunt are much more expensive and verify before buying if they work.
