Pretty much done, verified wiring and closed the breakers this morning; need to finalize the tilt bracing and backfill the trench.
Left was put up last year, right is newest.
It's still a WIP, I have 2 more rails to add then the panels can finally go on.
I'll be around a grand all in.
Pivots with 1 hand as pictured, balanced pretty darn good.
3.66kw of LG Neon's to be added, 6s2p.
More photos here...
This will be an ongoing thread on my work in process expansion going from an SRNE ASF to parallel ASPs for additional power, 10KW wasn't cutting it...

Was going to put this in the danger zone...
It's a pretty eye opening video that should make one wonder how bad we really have it in developed nations...
Getting by with what you have and getting it done works.
They even used a Schneider breaker 😉
That depends on real world experience, level of common sense and lots of other things...
A sign similar to this hangs in the engineering office at work, I get a chuckle every time I look at it.
6-29 update. They are alive!
Enjoy the photos. Feel free to critique and pick apart.
Zero issues.
(You will get faults for parallel communication if you set the first inverter to PAL with the cables disconnected, the power switch must be off to change the setting; it won't let you with it...
Working for a Tier 1 Auto supplier, it's not just EV sales that are dropping... We've been seeing this coming since Q2 of last year.
I cut an entire shift out of my department at the start of the new year (no one lost their job and everyone is happy) and will be starting layoffs on the other 2...
How do you figure? It gets the sparks flying and can lead to solutions.
I need sleep, everyone please try to keep this under 3 additional pages overnight I have meetings starting at 7AM tomorrow and won't be able to keep up.
I need to stop being such a pessimist...
Left work early to help my brother with his upright freezer that took a shit...
Was mixing up some sevin to feed the bugs feasting on the garden and DHL pulled in the driveway.
Boxes had some rips and tears but packaging is just as solid as the ASF...
Hopefully I'll get this one finished by Saturday. 3.7KW facing SW.
Edit to add -
Used C channel pallet racking, unistrut and lots of concrete. Still debating extra bracing.
Once your system is up and running the piece of mind not having to worry about food in the fridge, meat in the freezer, combustion fan for the coal stove, minisplit, well pump, etc is amazing.
Sit back and enjoy the storm without a care in the world if the grid goes down.
It's an extremely...
Thinking out loud here, feel free to tell me if I'm wrong and/or nuke this post.
If Sol-Ark actually wrote the firmware for their Deye labeled inverters wouldn't they have coders and engineers with a deep and thorough understanding of it?
With that understanding shouldn't they be able to help...
Edit to add FS link.
Send me a PM if you're interested. Pricing will be better for forum members.

End edit.
For anyone selling on Craigslist don't fall for scams...
Yup. Blue and Black only go to the negatives. That was heck of a short you created to make it go boom like that,. I'd be proud of the carnage and appreciative of the amount of power on tap. Replace the BMS and wire correctly.
Also, I really like your take on the compression springs, I've never...
Didn't get nearly as far as I wanted this weekend, broken PTO auger substituted with digging bars and a post hole digger sucked worse than running SER cable or drilling and tapping bussbars. I was tempted to use the backhoe but wasn't mixing all that extra concrete.
I'll cut the top on the low...
Things have been pretty boring, everything continues to just work.
I'm over 5MWh on the unit with the ground mounts and ~3.5MWh on the unit with the roof mounts.
Things are back on the upward climb over the past few months.
Days like today irritate me...
Happy Friday 🍻
I paid ~$2300 for 2 ASPs delivered, 20kW AC output, 22kW PV input. I have just over 7MWh PV through the pair with 0 issues; they power my entire house.
SRNE and Growatt are 2 OEMs that come to mind quick.
I know SRNE has been around a bit longer than Lux Power and I think Growatt beats them both.
I started with this and 200W of panels to keep the coal stove lit when the power went out. (I know those breakers and 'bus' bar are shit, I was a rookie)
It's evolved to this powering the entire house.
I have more expansions creeps planned before fall...
My SRNE ASF 10Kw.
It allowed me to take the rest of the house off the grid.
Next up would be the Envision cells and a pallet of 370W panels for ~0.19/w delivered to allow me to stay off the grid longer.
Yesterday may have been a record for my 14.55kW of panels.
A MWh could happen this month, Tues is supposed to be crap but the rest of the week doesn't look bad.
1 month update.
1 major issue, I need to use a lot more power ?
From the display menus; 473 kwh produced, 445 used. If my math is correct that's ~94% efficiency, I can't complain one bit.
Everything just works. No restarts or errors, besides me charging to aggressively and the BMS going...
Well I ended up going hybrid... Initially I had laminated 3 posts, the 2 outer and the center, then I decided it wouldn't be strong enough so I added 2 more 4x6's.
All in all I'm happy. There are a few minor imperfections but I can't complain for working alone, next time I'm phoning a friend...
Watch out, I've been thinking....
With multiple packs in parallel is using closed loop really worth it?
How many users are running closed loop with SOC that is not accurate across multiple BMS?
I've ran open loop since day 1.
I attached what my packs looked like this morning, big...
"Small" project in my department at work to improve efficiency.
I have 14 machines powered by 15-20HP 3 phase motors.
Currently each one is powered by a step up transformer going from 240V split phase to 3 phase, not very efficient.
We are in the process of relocating a transformer / sub-station...
Pivots with 1 hand, minimal effort.
Such a gratifying feeling.
Huge thanks to the plethora of info here from all the great users and a sincere thank you to @Will Prowse and all the admins for making it happen.
For anyone just starting their solar journey, ground mounts are the way to go in...
Wow this thread....
@Will Prowse keep doing what are you doing, you are one of the few people I'd trust in real life. Your videos and demeanor on the forum show a lot about your character, not many people like yourself left in the world it seems. There are a lot on this forum from what I've...
I couldn't get away with a 12KW inverter unless I managed loads. I upgraded to 20KW output so I didn't have to worry about that any more.
I'll be over 12KW once I start the dryer.
This is just the EV charging at 16A, water distiller running, dishwasher running, washer running, well pump...
I was dumping some power into the EV, around 100 mi left as well, then the f'ing clouds rolled in thick.
We should build nuclear powered blowers to mount in front of the arrays and blow the clouds out of the way, guess we wouldn't really need the panels if we went that route 🙃
Sort of a ramble of random thoughts waiting for everyone to arrive for a bachelor party weekend (not mine, yet) while enjoying delicious hazy IPAs from a local brewery.
How long till it really all made sense and you could sit back and enjoy it with nothing to worry about? (this should be a...
My Dad sent me this one earlier today...
Most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great...
Haha, I would never pay that for a 5KWh server rack battery.
I can build a ~15KWh pack for that price.
Let's see, 400V pack would be about 128 cells in series. 100Ah Eve cells are going for ~$40 each delivered. That's $5120 for the cells, even if you spend a grand on a BMS you're way ahead...
The climate is changing, always has been, always will long after we're gone.
I never had an experimental vaccine for a blown out of proportion money grab virus, never will; I have no issues with proven vaccines for things that are actually dangerous / deadly.
The earth is round, always has...
What a productive week! I made more this week than December or January, the only changes would be the parallel ASPs and an additional 280AH bank; the additional capacity definitely helps.
(Grid usage in April was from the generator).
Maybe I'll just try the emulated BMS in SA, the inverters...
Sorry you're having issues. This unfortunately is the same thing over and over. Hope you get your items quickly to make optimal use of the sunshine.
The 9S's of SS... super slow shipping solar stuff, sadly sales surpass service.
Found a quick 2 hours to get them and the panel on the wall. That's all for now, gotta go to the HD and FFL dealer after some lunch.
( the panel is intentionally not centered 😉)
Thank you for the honesty, transparency, and ownership in the first post. Working in manufacturing as a tier 1 supplier I completely understand how these things can happen and the chaos they create.
Great problem solving and corrective actions so far. Way to go, going to the gemba and getting...
5-6 edit. Ordered 2 ASP
7-26 edit. Parallel ASP thread.
Edit ASP is the parallel version of the ASF.
I'm waiting for pricing and more details on the HES. I think this is it.

Can you tell when I got home from work 🤣.
Freaking 75 degrees in the house, I'm glad I didn't turn the space heaters on sooner this morning but irritated I lost out on so much production at the same time.
Pretty soon I'll have to turn the minisplit to A/C because I heated the house to much...
See post 2.
Going to try and rig up the rectifier with what I have on hand and transfer some power from the existing banks to the new bank so it can balance overnight.
I have 18 packages weighing 468lbs coming from Docan TX Thursday.
They still have a good selection available but inventory continues to drop, accord to their website.
If that supply drys up when I need more I'll order from Battery Hookup or 18650 again. If their prices are silly I might try...
Lmao. Masks were nothing but a power and control trip. Ever stop mosquitos with a chain link fence?
Isolating grandma from her family did a hell of a lot more damage than not wearing a mask.
I've been planning my offgrid build for a few years while I run my house off solar with minimal grid use. The current system is one big test and learning experience when I find land and go completely off the grid. A few things that come to mind quickly.
Build a detached power room that's...
I only have ~54kWh on the main system currently. This order will put me ~82kWh.
When I started the goal was 1000Ah, ~51kWh. That would have given me ~ 5 days with no sun based on pre addiction calculations. Now that I make my own power I'm using ~40kWh a day on average... Why stop at 900 😉
