    Purchasing with Bitcoin?

Indeed they do have Wire transfer (for $25). AHC being the the free slow-boat option. But the 1.5% withdraw fee is what I'd rather avoid. Anyway, it was a long shot, but figured it's worth asking, given the preponderance of prepper-types in the trade.

    Purchasing with Bitcoin?

Given the record high price of Bitcoin these days, and having come out of the winter underwhelmed with my current install, I'm in the mood to fund a much better storage and inverter setup. I'm likely looking at a rackmount battery setup, with something like a 6000xp inverter. Is anyone aware of...

EG4 3000 monitoring with Home Assistant

Yup, Solar Assistant will by my likely solution (though it requires a dedicated Pi, just like Victron which I run for the DC system's shunt. HA also requires a dedicated Pi unless you're masochistic, haha). All that said, the very scarce winter daylight makes every watt precious.

EG4 3000 monitoring with Home Assistant

I have the same question, but more generally across various products such as the EG4 6000XP. I'm preparing to replace a Renogy 3500 all-in-one with something better. I run an MQTT system with InfluxDB for irrigation and DC/PoE system monitoring, so integrating solar into this would be ideal.

Renogy 48v 3500w - Anyone got using one?

I have one of these as well (bought in March 2021, just three weeks before Will's very critical review). I've been putting up with it for a year and a half, and have found enough workarounds to share, but I'm going to replace it once I'm ready to upgrade the system. The biggest problem is that...

Battery SOC Measurement using Current (Directionality?)

Okay, that's excellent to learn about - I was concerned that even with the Smart Shunt I'd need pricey controller hardware. I see that Venus OS is on GitHub, and looks like it'd be easy to get running on a Pi (or even the BeagleBone Black I have laying around unused!) I'll give that a shot, as...

Battery SOC Measurement using Current (Directionality?)

Hello, I've setup a remote off-grid cabin monitoring system (using a Pi, PZEM-017 RS485 Power meter, and Shunt). I actually have it working, and using voltage to measure approximate state-of-charge works, however I'd like to log current (watt hours) and use this for a better measurement of the...

Renogy 3500W Inverter, 44000W MPPT problems

So this has me just a little worried. I ordered one, too early it turns out, as I haven't installed it at our remote cabin yet (that's this weekend!). It'll be worthwhile to see how it performs. The key feature I like about this, as well as the Renogy 48v battery bank is the modbus/can RJ45...

48v PoE with 48v Battery bank... Simple right? ?

Hello Solaristas! I'm installing a 48v system over the next few weeks and need some advice about Power over Ethernet (PoE). This is for an off-grid vacation cabin. My battery bank will be a 48v bank, and I'm planning to power always-on cameras and some Raspberry Pis for weather and power...

    48v Parallel vs 12v Series+Parallel?

No lead acid in the new system, sorry to confuse the old vs. new. I may keep a separate legacy system to run the 24 volt well pump, but I don't need irrigation if it's not sunny, heh.

    48v Parallel vs 12v Series+Parallel?

tl;dr: Any reason to favor/oppose two 48v batteries over 4 12v batteries? Hi, I'm upgrading an off-grid family cabin which has a small (900w of 1990 panels!) 24v solar system with 100Ah of year old Lead Acid batteries. I'm planning to put in a new 48v system, mostly to save on wiring in a 250'...
