I keep the extra components in faraday cages all in their cardboard boxes wrapped 5 times in Aluminum foil then placed into faraday bags , then stored in my metal garbage can faraday cage. This is called " EMP NESTING" basically layering protection to increase survivability.
Also, remember...
Hi All
Damn I forgot My AC/DC inverter is a 2500 watt, with surge to 5000 Watts and 12volt unit. So parallel is the way to go. So first, fully charge the new battery first then connect them in Parallel. I can add an extra MPPT Controller of the same type and model to keep it simple and double...
I have a lifepo4 batt it's 200 ah and the BMS can do 200 ah output from LI Times. My question is can I add a second lifepo4 battery 200 ah batts but the BMS has a max of 100 ah.
My inverter is 2000 watts output.
My max load is around 1000 watts.
If I hook up the inverter to the battery with the...
That is all True, But some people due to life circumstances don't have the land, space, cash or ability to do such. Think of populations in major cities like NYC, LA, Chicago, or even in Florida where you can't even dig a shelter due to water table about 6ft below or less the surface or less in...
Making a simple home made Faraday cage is low cost and simple.
A metal garbage can, metal duck tape card board boxes and aluminum foil and your done.
If you want some basic step by step check out YouTube or I can send you some info...
Just my 2 cents
Good luck
Solar panels have Bi- Pass Diodes on them that can be damaged by an emp.
Best to have extras for repair, or store panels in emp bags or wrap them In Aluminum foil about 5 layers after placing them In cardboard picture boxes or large garbage bags to act as insulators.
Just.my 2 cents
Good. Luck
The system is 12vts, can I hook the batts in parallel Or attack each batt directly To the inverter??
If I hook up each batt Directly to the inverter on their own wires, how do I hook up the charge controller to the batts which would be on their own circuit??.
Thanks
Thanks. I can hook up 2 batt cables to inverter and I can hook up scc output to bus bars and then attach from bus bars to batts. This will work for me. Thanks.
Question I just thought of, can I attach a second scc to the bus bars when or If I add extra panels to increase the power to the...
Items like solar panels can be damaged by an HEMP. Remember, then energy is radiated in the air and most electrical wires will feel the effect, some more then others depending on thier lengths. The trick or game plan is to be pro active and assume it might be damaged and take steps to take care...
I hate to say this, but Russia and China both think they will survive a Nuke war. They both are and have been for years been building Nuke bunkers for their population. We, on the other hand have done NADA, ZIP, ZERO!!! for the general population. At best there may be some local Tornado...
Are you saying that ALL SOLAR PANELS OF ALL MAKES AND DESIGN will survive a HEMP without issue??
What I'm saying is that your panels MAY be damaged by HEMP, and it's best to assume they might and prepare for that situation.
Better safe then sorry
Hi All
I bought a 200 amp ( LI Time), Lithium battery around Thanksgiving and I have been buildings my system piece meal as $ is always an issue.
So now, I realize I need to add a second battery to the first. The first has been fully charged with a Lithium battery charger, but I have NOT drawn...
( Long Post)
When It comes to getting ready for an EMP, there are a few things one can do.
1) Build a Faraday cage. You can use a metal garbage can as a start. Line inside of can with cardboard and use Aluminum tape to seal any holes or punctures. Also, go over seams on can with Aluminum duct...
