    You will be fine, the problems only start when the first cell goes over 3.4v, so to avoid any problems set your max charge voltage lower. Ie 13.6v for a 4 cell bank. Your only losing a few percent capacity, so it's not a major issue. Then as you say, your BMS will balance your cells over time...

    Yes, the only reason i was using a Pi is because of its low power usage, it's small size and cost. Any Linux based system with serial ports should work. Obviously running the same linux distribution will make life easier. Have fun!

    Let me know when you get it all working! The script simply puts the data in the /ramdisk folder in the correct format so Prometheus/Grafana can use it.

    There is python code on my GitHub site (read this thread) to read from the Renogy via a PI. It's so easy to make a new Grafana dashboard, just make your own to view on a phone with browser
