After I got my "SELTERM" lugs, which is highly rated and recommended on Amazon and here on the forum, I was disappointed to say the least
Found a place that sales big boys lugs
Attaching photos so you can see the difference (both are 0/2 awg / 70mm with M8 hole)
* In the photo is another lug...
DIY tilt mechanism is an extremely hard project, need to withstand extreme forces
I won't DIY it, I will buy a finished tested product, if and when one will come out (didn't find something on the market that fits my need)
Yes but it's only 15 amps, while 100/30 and 150/45 are the same size... :) a conspiracy? who knows
Anyway, at that price I can get 2 150/45 instead of one 150/60....unless I'll figure out a difference
55 VDC for mppt is pretty useless with today's solar panels which are 49V open circuit at 25C
Regarding alternator - so starting my truck for 3 hours to charge the batteries is not a viable option in your opinion? (It's an old girl, c3500hd chevy 02')
I'm would buy them from a local seller with 3 years warranty
He said that they are great batteries and he didn't have any returns yet
But after all that, I won't get near it
The only reason I considered it is because I didn't find a teardown video of them from one of the youtubers
They gotta...
I finished my installation a few days ago and I realized that the best setup for me (RV, Low panel count-5)
One mppt per panel, i.e 75/15 or 100/20
This will yield the maximum from each panel and give me the data to see if one of the panels is funky in any way
Thanks @SamG340 and @Crowz
I got my answer
A follow up question - getting 2 24v batteries and series them now (until the current inverter dies, he is 4 years old bless his heart),
and in the future parallel them for an 48v system will be as efficient as a 48v one? (48v 1 bms large pack vs 24v...
Well if we already bumped this thread I'll update
I've been using it for a few weeks without issues, doesn't get warm...I think it is legit and seller on Amazon is just an idiot
EVE 280K vs EVE 304 vs CATL 304?
I've heard that the 304 bloat more? is that true? does it affect anything?
What is the current recommended alibaba battery sellers? I've seen that Docan is out of the picture, and that Amy is cool
Got some cables from a local store, fine strands cables are super duper hard to source here, so I was happy to just find a store
Went back home took a second look at the ends, looked not as I expected, got a few strands and grazed them with a knife
It's aluminum! it's coated with something that...
Very good inputs
Locally ultra fine stranded wire is not available, and the common flexible wire is less fine but not heavy stranded, just bellow class 5
That's why the same electrical stores that sells them also sells the THICC lugs
My current setup got warm at the lugs and that's why I went on...
I just saw that TOPDON has ts001 which has an adjustable lens....and now I don't want something else :(
(expect the Xinfrared XH15/X3, which is insane but cost $600 and out yet)
(Infect i discovered that topdon and others are just buying the sensor from Xinfrared/InfiRay)
I have a 24v system with a 24v inverter
But, there was no way to avoid it, I got some 12v appliances (30A)
I've considered a few options but don't know which route to take, in terms of efficiency / complexity / price
1. Getting one of those generic 30A 24V to 12V step down, connect to the 24v...
Tilted mechanism is for the future, for now we go simple
Bi-facial - anything above 550w is bifacial so it is what is is...I got them pretty cheap (20cents per w, trina solar)
2 server rack batteries 200A 24V connected in parallel
The app shows that the designed capacity is 200ah
The sticker on the battery says 5120Wh (each one)
Am I missing something?
SmartSolar MPPT 150/45 130 x 186 x 70 1,3kg - $230~
SmartSolar MPPT 150/60-Tr 200 x 250 x 95 3kg - $375~
Why the big jump? in everything
More than twice the wight and such
Is it a different product under the same name? more advance in efficiency or something?
Gonna hook it up to two 550w...
Hey
The current state of offering locally is really lacking, I wanted to build a DIY Lifepo4 but restricted in importing only batteries with the IEC62133 certification.
Anyone knows of batteries with this cert? can be cells or complete batteries
Din mounting - there are a ton of din enclosures, I prefer polycarbonate ones
Am I missing something with the midnite box? it's just a metal box
MND250 - jesus christ this thing is huge and expansive but it's pretty cool, I already got a blue sea switch and a terminal fuse so i'm already...
My current inverter is a hybrid all-in-one inverter
The so I prefer not to discard it.
I can get 24v lifepo4 batteries but from a size / space / price / efficiency perspective, i prefer a 48v(51.2v)
Is there a way?
Thanks!
After telling you that it was beneficial you say that you don't believe it will offer measurable benefit?
Also the heat thing is negatable, kinda fake news
Is there a way I don't know of? or 4 is the max no matter what? (other then modifying the panel...)
5 series with temp coeff will go over 250v, although realistically I don't think it will ever reach that voltage, coldest ever recorded here is like -10C, 40 years ago, avg is 5C coldest
The...
Didn't find anyone on the internet talking about them
https://www.svcenergy.com/
I'm about to buy their server rack battery just wanted some reassurance before pouring my money into them
Thanks!
Might be easier to just get a generator...
I don't drive much, driving to a place and stay for a few weeks
What is the efficiency of an alternator vs generator in fuel consumption? Is it substantial?
I'm just angry at Victron for not putting a place for a fuse on the MPPT and other products they have, will make for such a cleaner install, just so we will get that humnagus over engineered over priced over spced lynx distributor (the concept itself is genius imo, great cabling, just need to be...
Solar fuse - only way they can dump into each other is if the disconnect device itself has a fault, that's why I wanted to put the fuse above it...will they blow?
The battery itself has overcurrent and short circuit protection in the bms (pace), is it not fast enough?
for the t fuse to the...
Attached is the QR
I typed it manually because it can't read the QR code - D4110021300B5CB3A0M84T2C
Decoding failed in multiple sites / apps
The seller says it's CATL...
Also - can anybody identify and BMS?
Hey
I have the Conversol A8 3K, which is identical to the Axpert King 3K
I've connect it to my IMD (IT system, similar to ELD)
And the the IMD trips
Nothing is connected except the inverter...
And the IMD is at the highest trip rating (23kohm,230V)
(An insulation monitoring device monitors...
(For RV)
I'm upgrading my solar and looking to buy an additional mppt (currently using the axpert king but it's limited)
Looks like Victron MPPT are the golden standard but pretty expensive
So I'm wondering if there are other mppts with the same quality / performance but cheaper?
as I said - Because most solar panels manufactured today require a higher mppt voltage to work....you'll than need to search for older / second hand solar panels to create your array, that's all, definitely objective
Well, I installed them with 2" gap, made sure the mounting structure doesn't hide the back side
One day I got 690W from the 610W panel...
It's not just 80W more, keep in mind it was super hot, so I expected the panel to produce around 570W...
Important things:
1. I painted the roof with cool...
1. Yes I have 2 strings, 4 panels 610w + 1 610w
2. Manual says fuse max 30amp but I guess I can go 20amp
3. For disconnect I have this, it will blow the fuse?? solar -> fuse -> disconnect -> inverter
4. To check if I understand - 250A T fuse between pack and cable, 200A T fuse in the fuse block...
I'm deep in the rabbit hole
I got a feeling lately that amazon is just a aliexpress with higher prices, everything is chinese and finding a trustworthy brand is like finding a needle in a histake
Looked at an amazon store that claims that they are usa based, started digging and there is nothing...
I looked at a lot of spec sheets for panels when researching what to buy
And they all have a range, for example 590w-620w, with 5W jumps (590, 595,600...)
That's a lot of variants, and I don't get it
Why not just put two options - 590W and 620W
The price difference is negligible, the size is...
Searching for hours and didn't find something...
Searched for 6U but most of them don't support the weight
My only limit is the height, must be max 16"
Wall mount is ok but preferer something on floor / wheels
(each battery is 5.2"~ height)
Thanks everyone
The 30A (my new cool toilet) is a small surge of 1-3 mintus, usually will be at 10A (water pump and such)
I don't know If I should get the Isolated orion or the non-isolated...
Should I get a small smart orion with a lifepo4 battery or a bigger one without a battery?
Also...
My setup is 4 panels connected to Victron 250/100 and one panel connected to Axpert king 3kva 145v/1500W mppt
The group of 4 doesn't give me what I exacted.
It's most noticeable in the morning, where the one panel voltage is 31v and start producing, the 4 together are 26V expected to be 120V...
Does anyone knows If I can connect my server rack battery (pace bms, it has a victron protocol option) CAN to the victron mppt ve.can directly?
All I could find is with the GX device in the middle
I was just wondering
I have the victron 250/100
Panel is 610w 49voc with 0.24%
I live in a hot climate
Currently connected 4 panels in series, voltage is like 150v...
If we calculate the temp coeff, 4 panels are the max, but most of the year 5 panels will work on smoothly without a problem
But...
I found this:
https://bexonpower.com/?product=bexon-inverterinverter
And
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DssmKUQcT/
From google lens...but it didn't help at all
I checked your suggestions but it doesn't match the specs (4200va, 3000w solar)
Thanks I'll take a look at the SPD
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm thinking - if I put the class t between battery and wire i'll probably be fine between upper busbar to inverter wth mega
Hey all!
I'm going to build a 15KWH system for my RV, so I can work remote reliably
I'm a beginner, and have a few questions,
Battery:
1. What are the current most recommended diy box? laying flat
2. BMS - why is the new Inverter JK-BMS such a big deal? until now BMS warnet able to communicate...
I was just considering buying this Taico rack, the seller said they have EVE cells in them, I guess they make pouch cells as well?
Any luck with this rack? or you threw it in the trash?
@BSL Batttery SOLAR NA
Can you share pictures on how does the inside looks?
What battery cells are you using?
Active balancer?
What inverters are supported with your BMS?
Low temp & high temp sensors?
Wow this is gorgeous,
Do you know anymore products like this one?
Adding the cost of the MRBF make it more expensive than the lynx power in with the diy addon for fuses
Came across this while researching the XS
I want to use it mainly on idle to charge my batteries in the cloudy winter days
So wanted to ask, why did you want to avoid charging on idle? is it bad in someway?
