--- TL;DR update
UPDATE: 26/10/2024
now we learn that Hedges was correct all along. It is about the frequency of field reversal.
We are now at 200+ watts. I am sure though that we can up this to insane levels!!
UPDATE: 22/04/2024
82 wattage potential for a 35-70--35 coil? Let us hope I did not...

Please do not reference to unproven products. A proven product should at least have an rpm vs some kind of output graph with warranties.
for the building of a DIY alternator that actually works please see...
So ladies and gentlemen,
I just found a marvel concept.
But before I go public I need to make sure how to keep the clutches of companies away.
If I post publicly about my findings yet have never filed for a patent can then some random dude / corp take it and patent it?
Or should I first...
WARNING. here be dragons. Playing with mains voltage is not recommended and could be fatal if done wrong!
I really could use some pointers here reaching my main goal of getting 3.6VDC at 140 amps.
Background is that I have a few 3.2V 280Ah Lifepo4 prismatic cells and before I get more of those...
My current breaker panel is in disarray.

It is the result of hastily adding new components over time during house construction without reevaluating the layout before each new addition.
So...
If one could please read a few posts before #790 here

I am offering to send the disks for a peer to review them.
Totally not sure yet if a shipping company would allow...
Given the DIY nature of this forum. I am just testing the waters here.
@Will Prowse
Would it be preferable to keep plant based topics off this forum or can you see how this is both related to DIY and solar? ;)
I respect and love this site.
I get to ramble, which I excel at.
I know that many of us have better intuitive feeling with weird units like elbows, tows, thumbs and what have we? feet?
Given the highly scientific nature of this forum I suggest we move to metric.
Ohh my ohh my how those...
I have a wind turbine
https://diysolarforum.com/threads/cheap-chinese-wind-turbine-an-in-depth-exploration.30146
What would be the most simple way of testing it's output. If there is anything to be bought from local sources then I will do do.
TL;DR
it's an 48V AC alternator and now if at all...
I have tried 2 other, more specific to general electronics, fora before posting here but those are not be able to see my cries for advice.
May I please ask my general question here.
I have an OEG underfloor heating controller that does not seem to do what it needs to do.
I am really new to...
Context: I would like to get my current grid tied system no longer depending on an official grid.
Current system in place: 44 x 275WP PV panels using 11 x in series connected 3 phase micro inverters.
I am eyeing on the GW10K-BT retrofit inverter because it seems not overpriced and on paper has...
I am in the process of storing power that I generate myself
https://diysolarforum.com/threads/scalability-of-lifepo4-an-insane-battery-pack.30202/
TL;DR I will settle on 48 volts max, I intend to run my household, whichi is a 3 phase household located in Europe.
I'd like to keep feeding my...
Currently I draw +- 9000 KWh more from the mains grid than I supply to it in one year.
Earlier I posted this thread
https://diysolarforum.com/threads/solved-scalability-of-lifepo4-an-insane-battery-pack.30202/
That started it all
TL;DR
I have an 11kw 3 phase EV charge, I 3KW single phase heat...
I have a 3 phase mains connection. I'd like to put a 3 phase UPS in between mains incoming and my breaker boxes.
But since I am looking to go off grid in the future I am hoping there are UPS models that can be fed with DIY power banks like LifePo4 arrays.
That way I get to increase the capacity...
I am considering getting my feet wet with an epever mppt charger.
Their manual is conflicting in how to wire things up though.
The schematic shows the inverter connected to and in between of the charger and the battery. But in the caution section underneath it is stated that when using an...
I'd like to propose a sticky in this section so that more of all of our efforts can be more easily summarized and prevent newcomers like my self to wonder too far off in the dark.
This post should be editable by everyone as it is not intended as a long thread to read through.
More like a...
WOW.
My power horse system went from round about 500 watts to round about 300 watts by removing this GPU.
I am not starting a debate on dust here guys. just about how a single GPU, that is not really needed, can make such a difference.
EDIT: not a single GPU. I also removed another one.
Brothers and sisters.
I would like to draw your attention to;
https://diysolarforum.com/threads/lets-build-a-vawt-that-actually-works-please-help-if-you-can.31934
That thread has tentacles to others and the TL;DR is we all, yes also you dear reader, need some kind of way to make sure that we...
How do I orient my panels to yield at max at winter time given I am located at Amsterdam position?
I have all these panels (44x 275Wp) that are right now kicking ass at almost 10KW but I do not care about that. I care about how can said panels yield best at winter time?
I saw a recent youtube video from DIY solar with Will Prouse linking to
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001563505796.html
But when I asked them how reliable their listing was I got this weird response;

So back in the day it seemed like a good idea to go for an on grid system.
Ohh boy how times have changed.
Years later I find myself with 11 x APsystems 3 pahse microinverters YC 1000 - 3. totalling 44 panels at 275 Wp.
If only I would have known back then that this system will do nothing...
WARNING: High amp applications are not recommended and can lead to fatal injuries. Proceed with caution.
Does one have suggestions on what diodes to get for a DIY single phase full bridge rectifier? I currently have a rectifier that is rated at 100 amps but those on paper stats are slapped on...
I have finally gotten some 12 and 24 volts car lights ( https://diysolarforum.com/threads/testing-ones-wind-potential-how-to-do-it-in-europa.30488/post-368684 ) in an effort to test what my

An open source BMS.
I am not qualified to determine if it has any merit or not but I so much would like it to.
I am considering supporting this project with some donations if they are at all interested in that.
But before I offer that to them can some of the more...
So my brother @Hedges has already, ages ago it seems, suggested the SMA sunny island units for when one wants to go offline.
I am amongst one of those that thought too late that going offline is a good idea.
SO now I have 11 x 3 phase APsystems micro inverters.
Sure our grid is reliable thus...
So in a stroke of bad decisions I bought 8 x 415Wp panels to start my off grid home adventure.
Only to realize I know not enough to hook those up to my 16 x raw cell Lifepo4 battery array in series making it a 48V array.
I have an mppt solar charger though but this is what threw me off guard...
Would it be feasible/advisable to DIY a LifePO4 battery (pack) charger?
I am considering DIYing the following;
240V/50Hz(AC) power outlet -> 2 string cable -> Full Bridge Rectifier -> DC step down transformer (Transform DC Voltage to a voltage that matches with the battery pack down the line)...
I am not sure if I am going completely off the rails with what I would like to do and if at all possible or sane and what not.
But essentially I would like a battery pack that I can run heavy load appliances with like 11kw (3 phase) EV charging and 3KW electric cooking and 3KW (single phase)...
