update
battery has been back on the live solar setup for a while, results with new BMS have given good results cells stay in balance on charge and in discharge ,well pleased with the results
update been running x2 440w and x2 410w for a few weeks just ordered 2 more 410w panels thats all the flat roof covered by the end of the week , its already doing what i needed so next by the end of the year will upgrade the batt pack to 9kw
the old balance leads are in 2 parts but if you trim the little lug on the side of the connectors you wont have to re-wire the cables with the new lead provided ,next fit the bms to the frame easy drill 4 holes screw in place, but make sure you fit balance leads to get the correct placing of...
want to upgrade a bit at some point and if these are any good it would be perfect for my needs but will it at least hold at 2500w out put befor shutting down

update the 170fs have been working fine with out any problems , they still have 90% soh , they do the job but still looking to goto life cells at some point when funds permit
we had a nissan leaf and used the setting in the menu only to charge to 80% for a battery longer life , when it turned 10 years old and 76.000 miles it still had 11 bars out of 12 of SOH , batt packs have been around for a while now there must have been some sort of study done , i have some A123...
i sent a message to DC-House uk about the low voltage cells, i got a reply with in 24hrs asking me to send pictures of cells so, good reponce from them , at the moment all 3 batt packs are on a float charge will pull out the 1st battery tomorrow once its been again on a float charge let it sit...
at the moment they get to a full charge every day apart from the odd day, at times sat for upto 4hrs on float charge , this will change once the days get shorter , the only load during the day is a 75w freezer
i gave up on my ecoworthy a pain in the ass for faults and every other day doing a reset (unreliable) in the end i went with another maker /name its been perfect ever since apart from some setups it could have had in the menu but you cant have it all
so time to play. new battery on its way should have it wed/thur also ordered a daly 40amp 16cell bms , wont get that till later in the mth gives me time to charge up / top up each cell then leave and monitor the cells over 2-3 weeks . will post results then
so first batt pack was bought in april pictures showing lid off and 3 battery readings , most are 3.40v 1 at 3.9v and the last 3 at 3.37v/3.34 am i over thinking this or are 3 cells starting to drop behind the rest , i will be doing another reading on this pack before xmas after a full charge...
update i upgraded x2 240w panels and added x2 410w panels i will at some point endup with x4 400w panels , but so far its added so much more charging time to my battereis it has been worth it
new batt pack arrived all cells ok and sitting at 3.29v , dc-house if your reading this the delivery people used do like to chuck them around the van from height, but they are well packed and protected so no damage , apart from one buss bar cover floating around the box you could hear the...
looking to get some 2 year old power safe 12v170fs batteries is there a way to get the cca for them so i can test them on my battery tester or is there some simple /ish way to test the soh
so far its been on a long float charge about 3 days , just lifted the lid its moved from 3.37v to 3.38v , will have to find my older charger to try the cell on its own will update once done 2 other cells that are a little slow off the mark but ok will get a top up as well may as well play...
batteries will charge via the ac mains , pv charger is showing volts , but not reading watts/amps so guessing the inverter has x2 chargers and part of the pv charger has failed
if the bms ends up being the suspect i will pick up a basic cheap one to do a slow charge of the batt pack and see what results i get , before i go buying a good bluetooth setup
added
i just had a look at cycles since new its had 160 cycles (max)
thanks will get some more info later , its a 4kw hybrid inverter i did put a load on it via the mains output of 2.4kw it took the reast of the power needed via the battery (800w)
the edecoa has the same range this is the one i was looking at i already have the 3.8kw but looking when we move to have a 2nd setup and battery backup...
have ordered my first one this will enable me to fit the 48v hybrid inverter i bought 3-4 weeks ago , also bought a basic 100a shunt to keep an eye on the battery , will add more batt packs as funds permit
need some help advice .
so i have x2 dc house batt packs charge at 58v. float at 54v
i was looking at the 48v x kia batt packs now sold via ebay and direct,
now my understanding is these are 14 cell, 3.6v /4.2 where the dc house is 16cells 3.2/3.6 so charging volts will not be compatable or...
still keep coming back to the unit above as it gives me a 50% buffer for future poss upgrades , have to find the cash to upgrade to a larger batt pack first , but at the same time keep an eye out for any deals on the unit and be able to grab a bargain
just noticed when checking the batt pack i was getting a reading of .5v differance from the lcd readout .
lcd 24v meter 24.5 i have 2 meters so as to keep a check on them , any way i had the inverter set to max 28,8v meter reading was 29.6 (battery) . i have since turned the max down to 28v ...
they are all around the uk most come from telecom back ups 2-4 years old 170fs can be picked up from £70 as said you can only do the quick test to find any bad batt packs , one outlet will test on his new tester and gives you a printout, his last batch had 91% soh 3 years old , its all a mine...
the inverter i have needs min 60v min from memory can check later the exact voltage , so i bought x2 400w 37v panels set them up as a 2s 1p i get on a normal light cloudy day 600w input into the hybrid inverter , i then later added x2 more panels so now 2s 2p setup but max i am getting is 800w...
rated power 4200va/3800w
dc input 48v max 80a
solar charger mode
rated power 6000w
max solar voltage(voc) 450vdc
mppt range 55-450dcv
thanks for any help
been talking to dc-house for around a week , all i can say is they have a very good after service , i did some testing and sent some pictures , and today they informed me they are sending out a replacemeant battery , as said very good service , so as i dont have to return the old one what to do...
the roof can just take if ever needed 6 laying flat x3 long x2 wide i would only just get 4 if i was to build a frame so the first 2 did not give a shadow over the 2 at the rear , also the roof is open to the wind that comes up the hill like a funnel between the houses anyone that puts a 6ft...
100% correct , so the only part of the unit that is duff is a guess on my part the battery charging module as pictures , one end of the board is pv in the other is conected to the battery ,
ok lesson learnt . i have x2 in line fuses which i thought are 20amp i bought five in one go , any way the last one in line was 10 amp when it failed it still had a tiny contact which was able to carry volts across so now i know check and double check the fuses , the way i found out was...
i have a 2.4kw solar setup with a hybrid inverter plus x4 2.5kw battery , i am looking at a 1kw wind turbine with a mppt controller but with out going too tech can i wire it all up direct to the battery or do i need some sort of ffancy setup , i want to keep it as simple as possible , i am...
i have x4 48v dc house batt packs not the ones listed i did a thread last year so far very good with 98 cycles in a year cells still balance out ok
as for temu i have ordered odds and sods from them one item was poor and i got a refund , but you try and remove your paypal account from instant...
i was hoping things had got more simple, maybe further down the line , i might remove one battery from the solar setup during the winter and use that as a stand alone system for now as paying out for another 6kw controller is not possible at the moment
at the moment its just running on 2 panels as i am awaiting delivery of the next 2 they are in series . but will put a meter in line today to double check
thanks i did read about many being over estimated in output , i am on a hill be it small about 1/4 mile we do get a good breeze , the more i read the more it seems to be not cost effective, and during the summer wont be needed as the solar does the job just fine
i can put up a picture of the old bms later maybe some one will know what it is , it has no ports but due to the price its still cheaper if you fit a bms with bluetooth
thanks for the info , it took a while but found the 95amp are 1000cca and the 170amp are around the 1800cca , unless some one knows better, so like your tester i can set the cca and get some sort of soh , but you never know plans change and i might find a 24kw electric car battery at a good...
from a quick read they use a temp /and the origanal exspantion sensors, chemistry i am not sure all i know at the moment is there from 1-2 year old cars (pouch type cells) with very low milage most been in an accident
our leaf maybe 8 years old but well looked after and the 24kw batt pack is still at 87% soh lost one bare on the dash due to ev price crash i was considering useing the battery and scrapping the car . so if you know the soh of the battery some are still worth it , also looking at kia niro 9kw...
so apart from a leaf i am also looking at a kia niro 9kw battery but need advice ,
i am looking to build a small shed to fit the cells and hybrid inverter this is to keep the cells away from the house.
i will make up 48v packs from the car battery pack , on each pack fit a bms, now bms size i...
game over it went into code 8 i reset it then went into code 50/51 then went pop and started smoking , so i have refitted my old iconica inverter that may be a poor out put but works , as soon as i powered it up it had more spare amps while charging the battery it didnt over charge the battery...
hi new to forum meant to join a while back but juts never got around to it ,
so need some help i had x2 240watt panels running the inverter i have meant for a while to get 2 more so last week i did, but didnt double check the max input the inverter would take you guessed it over load and some...
i am on my first its doing fine but having problems on bms cutting out at low voltage it will not turn on again untill you remove the - cable first , i set my back to mains power on the inverter to 46v to stop the drain over night going too low and the bms kicking in , i will get a 2nd batt...
i have the 2000w model under another name i did just once try to pull 1500w via the mains the unit just tripped out so i know its only realy good for a constant 1000w if i ever needed to
i will only use 4 panels at the momenat but space wise i will have to fit then to the shed/workshop roof laying near flat , it will give the panels upto 4 hrs in the summer longer sun exsposure / poss more , is there any problem doing this or is there some stickes on the subject
had time to check the mosfets they all seem fine and meter tested ok, cant see any bad joints , just checked the pv input it was 62vdc , inverter is rated 80vdc max so the solar panels shoud'nt have been a problem as i first thought , so any ideas
so my thoughts on old batt pack charge up pack , then charge bad cell and see what happens , guessing if it charges to correct voltage then the problem is the BMS (thoughts), if not then its just a bad cell
one question can you stack the battery on its side i ask as i wanted to have ventilation between the x3 batteries , but by doing that they wont fit into the space i have, but on there side fit perfect
just looking at one the ( still looking)
EDECOA 4200VA Solar Hybrid Inverter 55-450VDC
i have a iconica 2000w at the moment 2000w being the joke it cuts out at 1000w (approx), so i was looking to upgrade i only have max 1.400w solar power as thats the max the other thing can take , but not...
not had a cut out from the bms since i turned up the back to mains setting to 48v this gives the battery time to charge up a little before the sun sets , trying to work out shoud i add 2 more panels first or get another batt pack
as they are at the moment in a frame on the grass faceing south, in winter they get about 4 maybe 5 hrs of sun , due to buildings and trees, just by going futher down the garden on the shed roof in the morning the sun will hit them now at 6-7am, on the grass its not untill at least 10am before...
just replaced my old hybrid inverter (2000w) with an eco 24v 3000w , now it said on the tin max 1500w input i have laying on a flat roof x2 400w panels and x2 245w panels , i would like to replace the x 245w with another x2 400w panels , guessing as the panels are flat they will never reach...
got one delivered now i could do with some info , safe charging voltage and best low cut off voltage , i thought there was 12 cells but watching a video there are 16
update i picked up x2 power safe to test both had a SOH of 90%,( my tester) so far they are on there 3rd recharge ready for later in the day , i will sell my x4 liesure batteries only 12mth old when i know more on the power safe
i think the unit is a copy its white , but i tested it today for a while at around 2700w (kettle) it worked well .
rated power 3000w
peak 6000w debaitable
dc input 24v
rated currant 60A
rated power 1500w
mppt tracking range 30-115v
operating volt range 30- 145v

an offer i could not refuse came up for a eco-wothy 3000w hybrid inverter , its output already leaves the more exspensive iconica inverter behind, and as other thread am testing some power safe batteries for my setup
been a while i bought a 2nd batt pack 2 mths ago and just ordered a 3rd as there was a 20% discount on ebay which made up my mind for number 3 , once that arrives i will lift the lid on the first one to check all the cells , so far they have been fully charged apart from the odd day and...
update as its been around a year , its had 100 cycles bms is showing cells balancing ok , on discharge cells go out of balance a little but once it drops to a low 500w or less they balance again i have been pulling 1kw at times , well every full charge as i top up the mrs car , i cant seem to...
thanks i change what i knew about the cells from 12 to 16 once i watched a video not much info on them yet but will stick with above 58v/57v may keep low voltage to 45v for now
update its arrived , rechecked all the cells they have all settled around the 3.43-3.47v , then recharged the battery and got the same fault one cell dropped to 3.38 , can only be the bms , so time to change it the bms that is , i found the daly to be just a tiny bit smaller (as picture) so...
the eco-worthy 3000w hybrid inverter . model eco-3000w (tof)
i had a quick look inside there is a small circuit board that connects +/- side of the battery to +/- side of the pv input anyone know what that is for and if poss a ciurcuit dia as a component on the poss side has burnt out , the rest...
update , the setup in series worked 210v/13A but seeing as the sun is playing hide and seek at the moment and could be for some days yet , its going from 300w to 800w then poss 2400w with in a second can this cause the inverter to have a shorter life is it worth trying 3s-2p to try and make it a...
i am looking to upgrade to the dc house / eco worthy 48v battery x2 as in link is it worth going 48v direct or getting x4 12v 100ah wired for 48v
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315172776755
update i put the batt pack on a long floating charge of 56.5v the disconnected it from the line of 3, lifted the lid all cells apart from one settled to 3.45-3.55v over 24hrs the odd one will not go above 3.37v, just gone to a discharge will then recheck that cell againts the others, nearly...
