DOUBLE 24v to 12v step down converters?

I don't understand the EG4 breaker either. On top it's labeled as CB-125a Then immediately underneath I'm bold type is 100A. Might have something to do with the auxiliary breaker in that assembly.

Cheapest solar setup to heat desperate pensioners for 6 hours a day at 37w?

For a simple constant blanket adding a controller may help. These are commonly used for 12V heated motorcycle gear. Allowing heat adjustment depending on insulation and required heat level. https://www.warmnsafe.com/collections/heat-troller/products/spsae-single-portable-heat-troller-sae I've...

    (y) Glad you have it working for now. But that would bug me forever until I found out why it was tripping the GCFI with a grounded plug. Something is leaking to ground or a bad GCFI.

I also have the same batteries. Different inverter. I'm still puzzled by the generator shutting down even if the batteries won't accept a charge. I would definitely do a reset. Take all but 1 battery offline and work with only 1 battery at a time to eliminate as much as possible...

Are these the LiFePOwer4 batteries? They are in alarm but the SOC lights aren't showing anything?

Do you have an ac charger for your batteries that could be plugged into the gennie? Charge the batteries individually without using the MPP?

So much for that idea. I'm out of ideas too. Those plugs are about $15 and usually available at RV or generator stores. Doesn't appear HF carries them online but they may be in stores. If nothing else works, I'd suggest picking one up and giving it a try. Just plug it into an empty 120v...

Have you tried plugging into a household ac outlet where the NG bond is definitely going to be there?

I can't say for sure it will fix what you have going on. But it has fixed many RV inverter or EMS issues where those devices seek a NG bond with an external generator. This happens with inverters that have relays to form their own NG bond if they are making the ac power. If they are plugged...

Just grounding to that terminal won't do much good. Don't need that ground just using an extension cord. But neutral to ground at the generator chassis needs bonded. I use a plug like this:

Might need a NG bonding plug on your generator. Common problem on solar RVs with external generators. The generator is now the AC source and where the bond should occur. What generator is being used?

Alternatives to wood for mounting components

Plywood covered by welding blanket material is another option.

    New system

Yes. I am mistaken. I've only paid attention to larger 48V systems that are 250V and up. 24V appears to be more in line with 145V -160v range you mentioned.

    Victron Multiplus 3000/48

The 48/3000 manual specifies a 125A fuse to the inverter and appropriate wire. 2awg is what I'm using on mine.

If the camo covers are really good, no one would even see the panels. "What solar panels, Mr. Inspector?"
