I recently installed a Tosot 9k BTU 230v mini split LINK in my sons room. It was fairly easy, except for my mild mechanical incompetence causing delays. I got my 608 universal certification with the Skillcat app, cut and flared the lines, nitrogen pressure and vacuum tested, ran an electric line...
I installed a Tosot 9K, you can search for coupons to lower the prices (or get them off a youtuber video). Tosot (Gree) shipping was fast, 3 days. I paid 538$ for mine.
I've been running it two weeks. I have not noticed any issues yet. I will use it mostly for cooling, it doesn't get that cold here to use much heat in the winter (Sacramento).
Here is a Referral link, its 80$ off, I'm not sure if it stacks with other coupon codes though.
I went with a Tosot 9k 230v Unit, a Gree owned brand, middle of the line. Turbro is another Gree direct to consumer brand, slightly lower efficiency. I paid 538$.
Here is a link to Chilicon manuals and datasheets, have you rectified your problem? How are the micro's working for you? I'm considering a non-enphase micro (Chilicon/Hoymiles/NEP/Aptos) if I can ever source any.
DThames,
You may be able to narrow down which microinverters he means by going to the CPUC website, downloading the list of currently approved inverters, then click 'yes' on the microinverter column, filtering your results. Doing this I see Altenergy Power System Inc, Chilicon Power, Enphase...
You'll need either an inverter(s) w/MPPT's or microinverters to feed to the aGate. FHP should be compatible with Enphase, as that is what they specifically designed it with in mind. The aGate can either be between your meter and main panel, or via a breaker to feed a critical loads panel. I...
DFM379, I'm curious about your system. I'm also interested in either Homegrid or Fortress battery, but haven't decided yet. Can you give more information about your total setup? What state? Cost? Self Install? Etc.
Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but https://fullbattery.com/ has DC mini splits and other AC. Don't know if the cost pans out over buying a cheaper AC powered one.
