    Problem with Combiner Box

I was wondering I did put ferrules on the wire which was not there in the past do you think this could be an issue. It's raining now but I will let you know how it turns out when I cut them off.

    Problem with Combiner Box

The issue to me is out at the combiner box with the wire going to the bottom of the circuit breakers being 80V. But when it goes out the top to the busbas it is at 3.4V. Then it goes from there into the house and everything in there the CC and the 63A circuit breaker tests 3.4V same as the...

    Problem with Combiner Box

Everything with the box with the 63A breaker and the CC checked out good. The problem seems to be the combiner box the lines coming in from the panels to the bottom of the breakers test 80V but when they go out to the top bus bar they test 3.4V. I didn't know where to go from here.

    Problem with Combiner Box

I'm having an issue and cannot figure it out. I have 4 - 100W Rich solar panels (VOC 22.6V & ISC 5.86A) connected in series and 4 - 100W HQST solar panels (VOC 21.6V & ISC 6.5A) connected in series going to a 6 string Midnight Solar Combiner Box. When I test them the wires coming into the...

    Combiner box

I have a question I have 2 sets of 4 -100watt panels in series going to a Midnight Solar Combiner Box and each panel is VOC of 22.6V and Isc of 5.86A should I have a 15, 20, or 25 amp circuit breaker in the combiner box. Then this will be going to a 150/60 Charge controller which I'm hoping will...

    That makes sense, Thank You

Understanding Charge Controller Volts and Amps

Yes everything you said is right. They will get about 5 - 6 hours of sun on a good day, no shade during that time. I thought instead of only 88V coming out of the Combiner box going from both strings to one controller. I thought 1 string on each CC going to the batteries would charge them faster.

Understanding Charge Controller Volts and Amps

So if I had another CC I could have one string on one and the other string on the second one. I had a real issue here in Michigan over the winter last year with 4 sets of 2 panels in series coming out of the combiner box keeping my 3 - 100AH lithium batteries charged. I would have 4 panels in...

    Just added the numbers together

Understanding Charge Controller Volts and Amps

Thats what I didn't understand is you take the lowest voltage from the parellel string instead of adding all the voltages coming out of the combiner box going to the CC.

Understanding Charge Controller Volts and Amps

Are you saying that I would get 85.8V instead of 90V andbe good enough for the 150V of the CC
