Yes! Thanks to everyone for the responses. It was indeed reversed battery leads that blew the fuses. Thankfully, EG4 has incorporated reverse polarity protection in the 6000ex units. We replaced the fuses, rewired the leads correctly, and both units fired right up and have performed admirably...
For anyone who has successfully wired up a generator to auto start using the dry contacts on their inverter, would you mind listing the:
1. Generator Make
2. Generator Model
3. Make/model of any add-on required to make auto start work
I’ve read so many threads here on this topic, but it seems...
? I think you guys are right about the reversed wires. I’m a bit in shock that this happened. Everyone makes mistakes, I know.
Are these brand new units toast? Or is there a chance the fuses saved them? Or perhaps an internal fail safe?
I’m going back out tomorrow to check the terminal...
Have you considered a Chargeverter? It’s pretty cheap insurance and ours has worked extremely well in keeping our bank topped off without buggering up our inverters
Hi all,
After watching Will’s many videos and searching on the forum, I’m still perplexed by what’s happened with this system today. I had two brand new EG4 6000ex’s installed this morning, with 8x Rich Solar 12v/200ah batteries wired in two parallel 48v banks (batteries were already here from...
Thanks, Scott. Any chance your units are installed in an environment that gets very hot? My original theory was that my units overheated due to being in an un-airconditioned shed and went into some sort of thermal reset. Thanks again.
Thanks for the response. He literally jumpered from one post inside the switch to the other post inside the switch— essentially turning the switch on by way of the resistor. So both inverters were getting current at once.
Neither inverter lighted up at any time.
So I wired in 3 of the bifacials into each of my 6s mono facial strings. Produced what seemed to be correct additional power during the day. Only weird thing is, now that it’s night, Solar App is showing 138v from PV (0 watts). The history shows it fluctuating between 0V and ~140V, all with 0 watts.
Has anyone tried mixing monofacial and bifacial panels in the same string? As a newb, I'm wondering if I've badly under-logic-ed this one. All I've seen online / on the forums about mixing panels is that 1) It's generally not advised 2) If you must do it, make sure the operating voltages and...
