And last visit the unit was shut down again. Pointing at Cells 1 and 2 balance wire resistance again. I restarted the BMS, disabled balancing, and we'll see what happens. Screen shot from before reset
Just wanted to follow up. I did order a replacement BMS. I also went to work on the balance wires starting with the ring eye terminals right at the cells. I had good luck then it quit again. Then I remembered the responses here and unplugged then replugged the BMS end. Not sure the how and...
I have been finding that it shuts off on me when I am not there. The only way to get it to go is to switch off the load, then the charge controller will fire back up run. If I flip the load back on it shuts down. There were some odd errors a while back I think possibly about ARC but those...
I'll have a look, but all was fine for a year and a half and if I reset it the resistance looks good. In the past I've seen odd alarms for cell over voltage also that did not show on the screen. Contemplating replacing the BMS. This is an unoccupied cabin so I'm only there briefly many times.
JK-B2A8S20P This unit has been in and working well for some time now, but recently I have had a couple of hiccups. The latest is that it said the sample resistance wire is to large and cut off the discharge. The previous time that I was up to visit it was in protect and I checked al the...
If a guy could find a basic snap disc thermostat that opens at say 40°f and closes at say 35° would be about perfect.
I haven't tried it yet but 30w cement resistor should give off a little warmth.
I've got my 24v 280ah bank built into a milwaukee packout box. Cabin is heated but the pilot can go out in a big wind. I set my BMS charge cut off to 1°C. I don't care to take my cells out to pit a pad under them. What I was thinking is maybe a large ceramic low watt resistor like you would...
One project I have always wanted to do is a solar awning for one of our shop buildings. We have two 8x5 windows facing south and get plenty of unwanted solar in summer. My thought is that if I do it right I could set them up so that the angle can be changed manually as the seasons change...
Use a board or something to spread the load. i put some small dents in the cases of mine where the rubber pads of my clamps made contact. I used shelf liner in double layers.
If I were doing that project i would temporarily compress and then fiber tape them. I would use flexible busbars and build into a premade case that resembles a battery. If my project was not 8s that's what I'd have done. I'd probably consider 280ah cells as better cost per ah especially when...
Can't help with how to remedy this but the way that the ones I received from Docan were packed you would have to try really hard to damage them. They have special foam that isolates them.
Thank you that helps a lot. I knew that there had to be some phenomenon involved. I was thinking it was related to partial snow cover, but apparently not.
T's crossed, I's dotted I used a UF cable and put it inside a conduit as well as proper ground rods the whole shebang. Look close and you will see that I even cast the elbow in the crete. I would have to go back and check to see if it is really 8ga or if I used 10 ga. Originally I thought 8...
