So how about the other settings, do I need to set all the settings in each inverter or will the slave inverters automatically adopt the settings of the master inverter regardless of which settings you put into each of the slave inverters?
Thanks all for the information, so when connecting them to each other will the + of one will connect directly to the - of the next panel with the leads that are on the panels already and I will only need leads from the - on one end of the string and a lead from the + on the other end of the...
They are gobel power diy boxes with fuse and breakers in them and YIXIANG diy boxes (not sure if they have a fuse in them or not, waiting for them to arrive, they have breakers though).
I have 4 batteries I just built on my solar install. One of them is not cooperating and I don't understand what it is doing exactly. It shows charge as off but it is on, the other 4 batteries appear to be working properly. I am new to all this so still learning.
Here are screen shots, it...
Okay, I am just going to be building the frame off the posts for now, so some 2 x 6's attached to the posts. I won't put panels on it for at least 2 weeks.
I have batteries and inverters (eg4 6000xp's, 3 of them to start with) but not sure which panels to go with. Are there big differences (besides wattage) between the ones sold for instance on current connected or signature solar? I was looking at 2 pallets of the Hyperion 400w bifacial panels...
I am looking to hire someone that can consult with for a fairly large residential solar install. I already have the panels (72 panels), 3 inverters and diy batteries and plan to do the majority of the install myself but some of it I want to hire out. I would like to hire someone to help with...
If you have 8 48v battery packs all connected to bus bars, and from the bus bars you connect to your inverter, what controls which battery and how much load each battery gets? I will be using all 200 amp with 2 amp active balancer JK bms's on each battery pack, do the bms's control this? Does...
Sure, what info would you like? Plus my load is typically 3-5000 watts total across the 3 inverters, may be a spike to 6-9k rarely (dryer running etc).
Would it be easier for you too look remotely, you able to do that with my sn?
Is there a way to set it to charge the batteries to full using the grid, I don't want it to stop charging until the batteries are fully charged and balanced. I currently have it set to lead acid, set the charge voltage to 56.2, vfloat 54 and veg 54.5. It is charging via the solar panels now...
I am looking to hire someone in central Michigan area to install 20 panels on the roof of my pole barn which has 60 degree roof. The mounts are already installed just need the panels themselves installed. Already have permit, ready to go asap, get in touch please!
Okay, I will be using 3 eg4 6000xp inverters, should I run 2 or 3 batteries to each inverter instead of pooling them all off one bus bar and having all 3 inverters connected to the same bus bar?
the s19j pro's use about 2800-3200 watts each, each will produce (at price of btc right now) about 5-6 dollars per day, you can pick them up for 500-800 dollars used right now. So they use a ton of power and are not profitable unless you have super cheap electricity costs or free. Plus you...
I am constantly getting EPS overload on my 3 6000XP inverters in parallel. I have read other threads about this and it seems to come down to not enough battery and/or the discharge current limit being set wrong. I have it set to 420 amps and I currently have 4 15 kwh 200 amp each battery...
I have a roof top junction box, I need to have bare pv wires enter the junction box, how to create water tight seal.. or is there a way to have them enter conduit with bare wires that will create a water tight seal then go into the junction box?
For diy batteries check out this video (great youtube channel in general as well) I just built 2 of these and 2 in the gobel power diy box.. both were good but the Yixiang was easier and a bit more polished and I would go with those ones. I am completely new to this and it was a breeze to put...
Does anyone have an example of what a solar plan looks like. I am about to get permits for my solar install and they require a solar plan, I am not sure what this is supposed to look like.
I want to put a small transfer switch to switch from grid ac or solar ac to the mini split in my solar shed, does something like this exist, a small ~15 amp transfer switch?
Hey all, I have a new solar system I put in, I am running 3 EG4 6000XP's in parallel. I have the grid connected, 24k watts of solar panels and over 100 kwh of storage. I am running the latest firmware.
The system has been up for a few months and things were fine until the past few weeks, I am...
Is there a BMS that works with diy batteries and the 6000XP? I have a pallet of batteries for diy packs I will be building and have not bought a BMS yet. I have 3 6000XP's ordered I am going to be using the batteries with.
I have 3 ground mounts, all are using direct bury wire (2' deep). I already have all the trenches dug (I have a mini excavator, so was easy) and the wiring for the arrays done. I was using direct bury 10 gauge for the ground wire (in the same trench as the PV wires) but ran out on the last...
You keep saying they are about the same cost, but they are 50% more than the ones I was looking at, not sure why you keep saying this unless you know where to get them for .32 cents a watt with free shipping.
yeah I will go and disconnect that string and see what I can figure out tomorrow. I will try swapping it into another input on the inverter tomorrow also, make sure it is not that input on the inverter itself.
Okay, thanks for the info. So when it comes time to tie grid power to the inverter I will need to hire an electrician to have the meter removed and make the connection from the meter to the inverter I am guessing? Does the power company need to be part of this? The inverter will be in a shed...
I am having an issue with one of my batteries, no matter what I set the charge current too, when it starts charging it basically max's out whatever it being fed to it (200-300 amps etc), triggers the over charge current protection, timer counts down from1 min and repeats. Regardless if I set...
Ohh also, I am using the gray flexible conduit to go from the box on the roof to down the side of the building into a disconnect, the box on the roof will be within 12" of the edge of the roof (panels will cover it), do I need a conduit strap on the roof itself or can I start using them once I...
So far so good other than my learning curve on getting them setup/configured properly on the 6 batteries I have them in and have 5 more I am currently putting together.
I guess it depends on the cost difference between something like the EG4 and whatever top tier equipment equivalent would be and the differences between them. Examples of a top tier inverter?
If you wanted to run two inverters with solar panels and diy batteries with grid power as backup for when there is no sun and dead batteries plus a generator to charge batteries when needed which system do you go with, I see DC coupling and AC coupling but the diagrams are not showing the...
Product Description

Thanks for the info, I don't think I will need any of those not as common features you listed. I am looking to use solar when the sun is out, batteries at night and switch over to the grid when the batteries are dead.
I have closed loop communication between my batteries and inverters but am using voltage for cutoff as it seems way more reliable/accurate than SOC. I have not upgraded to .35 yet but will soon. Why would you want to use SOC over voltage for cutoffs?
How do these look, seems similar specs and a bit cheaper and $1 shipping for 32 panels, the 450 watt panels. Would these panels work with most inverters? I have not decided on which inverter yet for sure.

So what makes the ones you mentioned better than the two I listed? I am curious why the others are considered better. I don't really know the difference between them.
Hey all, I want to add a 12000xp inverter and some more panels to it, I currently have 3 6000xp's in parallel and have ~170kwh of battery storage. Can I setup the 12000xp and some new panels to it and have it hooked up to that same battery bank the 6000xp's are connected to? It will have it's...
I will double check all the connections. my battery bank is fed by 2 200 amp feeds, I have half the batteries going to the same distribution bar from 1 200 amp feed and the other half going through the other, wire lengths from each feed are the exact same length as well. Each inverter...
Yeah I noticed that as well, I was able to get the tax refunded, so price was ~8600 shipped for 4 modules. How much did you pay per cel and from where?
I have 200 amp service going into the property and 3 6000xp inverters, the inverters are only fed by breakers from the main service, so the service size going into your property should make no difference at all. I have a manual transfer switch setup (actually 2, one for the pole barn and one...
Have not figured that out yet, the inverters allow 2 strings per with max of 480v, will have 3 inverters so max of 6 strings. If I need a separate charger that is fine as well but ideally being able to hook them all the inverters is preferred.. even if I need to get a 4th inverter to do it that...
If I were to disable ac charge altogether when the battery dies will the inverters automatically just power from the grid and stop when there is enough solar or battery to turn off grid power? I am leaning towards never allowing grid to charge the battery as I think this is less efficient then...
I still can't figure this issue out.. it is random too, so something running somewhere I think is the cause but who knows what. I do have 7 Senville Aura mini splits (4 9ks, 2 12ks, and 1 18k) throughout the house, pole barn and solar shed, does my heating and cooling for everything, They are...
It is not all the time but comes and goes, more than once a day. If I am working in the shop it will come and go, do it for awhile, then I won't notice it for a bit and then it will start doing it some more, from more than 1 light though.
Wonder if the EG4 18kpv would be able to do it, I still don't know which inverter I am going to go with, may be going with two inverters, one for the house and one for the shop so I won't have an issue with power. I just want it to be semi simple, the features I need and reliable. And if I go...
How do I figure out how far the edge of the panels will be off the ground with a given height post, angle the panels will be at and the total height of the array?
I need to figure out how tall to cut off the posts that are in the ground, I want to have about 1.5-2' off the ground at the bottom...
nope no change, no firmware updates, on the same version in the batteries and the inverters from when I finished the install a few months ago, which is the current version for the 6000xp's. Nothing new as far as loads/heaters. I heat with all mini splits in the house and pole barn.
There is...
I have occasional flicker when powered off solar/battery (but not when on grid) on my 3 eg4 6000xp inverters. I figured out one of my 3d printers ac heat bed causes flickering as it turns on and off rapidly to maintain temperature same with my electric kettle once it hits the set temperature...
Hey all, I am new to solar so have a lot to learn. My wife and I are purchasing a new house in rural area with some land. We have lots of open space to put up a large solar array. To start I would like to tie into our current electricity provider but eventually add batteries and go off grid...
If you parallel many of these together and you want to change a setting, do you just change it on the master or do you need to change it on each individual bms? If you only need to change it on the master than what if you want to have one of the batteries with a different setting in it? What...
I have two separate strings, 10 panels each on my roof, looking for a disconnect for them, will this work? It says 2 poles in series and number of strings is 2, that mean the two strings will be wired in series together or will they be independent to each other (which is what I want)? Any...
The Bluesun costs a lot more than the hyperion and is higher voltage, so less panels per string. What makes the Bluesun which are quite a bit more expensive better? This is the knowledge I am lacking to know which panels are good and which are not and why.
They are close in charge but not exactly the same but why would the bms allow that much current to flow, isn't the point of it to control the amount of current that is allowed to go in and out of it? It is as if the bms has no control over how much current is flowing in and out, all the other...
To start I would like to tie into the current electrical grid, so at night and low sun days power is not an issue. I would like enough panels to mostly cancel out the electrical bill each month. Later on I will look into batteries and going off grid but for now it is not an option due to...
I just had the inspector out here for an inspection of my solar install (not final the final inspection). He said starting earlier this year Michigan requires a decommission plan for your batteries. He said I am the first person this year he has had to deal with this himself. Anyone familiar...
I don't plan to ever dig it up again, the ground is mostly all sand in my area and all the ground mounts are at an elevated part of the properly so the water table is much deeper than the 2'. Plus the longest run I have is like 50-60', and two of them are under 15' in length.
Well they are all connected, when not under load/not connected to the inverter they were producing the same ~350 volts the other 5 arrays are producing.. so something is up.. I will swap inputs on the inverter first thing tomorrow and see if the problem follows, if so then I know it is something...
I have several diy battery packs I have built in server rack cases with 200 amp jk bms's, they are 16 306ah eve lifep04 cells to make 48v packs. I am putting two batteries in parallel to the bus bars before going to the inverters. I am going to have them run through a class t fuse, how many...
The wiring from the panels (and ground wire) needs to go from the panels to the side of the roof and down the side of the pole barn into a disconnect. So do I need a box that the wires go into first on the roof then from the box into conduit and then across the roof then down the side of the...
Can you verify my settings for me? I have grid power hooked to all 3 inverters, all share battery bank. I would like it to use grid to charge batteries once they are down to ~10% (or a set voltage, I have to figure out what voltage that would be with lifep04 cells). If for some reason...
So they did not bother looking at the holes for the ground mount posts? I spoke to my inspector yesterday and he said they need to inspect the holes before I cement the posts in, he also said they need to 6-7' deep each.
I have the ability to switch to grid and by pass all the solar stuff, I can try that.. These are random different led lights all over the house and pole barn, not just one brand all over.
Yeah it could have been, it was on the center inverter as well, the one pictured there. I just swapped pv 1 and 2 around with each other and no issues all day. It must have been a bad connection somehow.. glad that is all it was, or at least seems to have been. :)
I had my eye on the EG4 18K inverter. I am looking for a solution to run panels, batteries, grid and generator. So it will auto switch from solar, batteries and to grid if the batteries get too low. I have a whole house generator right now that I would like to implement somehow as well to...
Can I use thhn stranded copper wire for earth/ground and direct bury it? They bury bare copper wire when used as earth so I would think you could use it.. am I wrong?
I have had a few led lights go out on me, but not sure if coincidence or not, the same bulbs from the same fixture. This is a fast flicker that is happening, for instance it is doing right now again, it comes and goes.
I only have the ground and neutral bonded in one place, right after the...
