Update!
They sent a shipping label for returning the old one and also sent me a new controller at the same time. I'm officially back going! Very cool that they took care of everything. I'm a happy guy and definitely still a BougeRV fan! Let's go for a ride!??
It's for my 17' solar/electric boat project. It gets used as a weekender during the summer. I don't rely on it for anything other than boat camping and learning this stuff. I'm always playing with it, trying to make it better. Current setup is 4x100w panels, DIY 105ah 12v lifepo4 batteries and a...
Update!
I've been in contact with Bouge RV and have exchanged a few emails with pictures and screenshots. So far they have been quick, helpful and expressed they will replace the unit if it is faulty. Definitely looking like a bad controller(to me). We'll see what happens...
Again, I was 100%...
Naa, I made sure it was set for lithium. Definitely a good thought though! I'm pretty sure I've checked all the normal stuff. It's a really simple setup, not much to it. It hasn't been dropped or gotten wet. Haven't pushed it hard either. Seems odd. I've always had good luck with Bouge RV stuff...
Alright, I've gone over everything multiple times and don't see anything I've messed up. Checked all connections, tested and swapped everything I can think of, checked settings and reset it. No fault codes and everything is "normal" but it's not charging more than 1A in full sun with a low...
Naa, I was just getting them ready for a top balance.
I bought these from forum member, Michael B Caro. Super good service, price and these were already in the USA! He's a good guy to buy from if possible. ??
Well, I ran across these Haswing brushless motors that are affordable and good quality(hopefully). I ordered the 12v "Protruar 1.0" model. Haven't tested it out yet, but it'll hopefully be a pretty good upgrade in speed and efficiency. Also, I scored some new carbon fiber props. Super thin and...
The springs came from WB Jones. PN-283
To find the correct spring tension, there's a couple of math problems to do with the cell area and spring specs. Nothing crazy. I can't find it in my notes at the moment. These need to be compressed .187" each and .813" installed height is checked with a...
Yeah, I guess I left that part out.? I elongated the bottom bracket holes on one end and used lock nuts, left loose enough for the plate to slide back and forth.?
I like your idea better. Looks awesome! ?
So, while on the water, I accidentally shorted one of the balance cables to a negative terminal and then had zero voltage coming out of the BMS. Just a tiny little pop and I was dead in the water. Thought I had killed it that quick. Well, I searched the forum and found how to reset it by...
Just a standard 20 ton shop press with a bottle jack. Waaaay overkill, I'm sure. I'd imagine that a good bench vise would do the job just fine also. Especially if you added some heat to the copper(I didn't). I would definitely call this a "cold weld"...
Edit: Would like to add, make...
Well, for whatever reason, I can't go back and edit the original post now... Oh well. Any questions, just ask and I will do my best to keep checking in.;)
