Thanks for the reply DIYrich, appreciated!
Your answer to my second question, if paralleling 2 fb21 - would they not continue to supply the critical load panel? (I understand they wouldn't continue to feed the main panel when the grid goes down.) This quesiton is hypothetical, I'm just trying...
Here's a diagram I made up with hybrid in mind, I've also considered a similar setup but using of grid inverters. Note the separation between the garage and house.

Hello everyone, looking for any constructive thoughts/comments on my planned build. Based on the following parameters:
Grid goes straight into main panel currently, that won't change - last resort house heating is baseboards which are all run thru the main panel. If all is working normally the...
Hi everyone, new guy here but have been reading and researching for ages. For my own education in the case of the OP couldn't the extra pv be added directly to the third mppt on the FB? Then no ac coupling, grid goes down, critical loads is maintained by batteries/pv, grid comes back on and fb...
E. Cho - I'm in Ontario, and looking at getting the same batteries - any issues with with ESA? (Feel free to DM me if you prefer) I'm not bothered about lack of certificate as I plan to house inverter/batteris in a separate shed so no impact on the house.

Hopefully some knowledgeable members chime in! I'm hoping to do basically the exact same thing!
I'll add the following points:
1 zero pass thru to grid but assuming extra power "left over" and can be "pushed" to main panel. (I plan to add pv as well.)
2 chargeverter between batteries and...
Hi all, I'm trying to understand with the Flexboss21 - EG4 wiring diagrams show the Critical loads panel with a breaker size of 60-100.
Yet the FB will output 50A without PV present (just battery) or up to 66.7A with Solar combined with battery. So wouldn't the max size breaker for hte critical...
Joe, question regarding zero export, couldn't you set the grid to feed a set minimum amount in (say 500w for example) as a buffer so that you don't run the risk of back feeding the grid but still cover off most of the power requirements in the main panel assuming you've enough extra power...
For those with the FB (no GB) and you've got a critical loads panel connected and the power flickers or goes down does this effect the devices running on the critical loads panel?
Further:
Same situation but critical load panel is already being fed by batteries/PV prior to grid power...
Yes exactly - I plan to have a Critical loads panel that will be always up, fed first by PV/battery and then grid if needed. Secondly I want to backfeed the main panel when I have extra PV available assuming battery is topped up. I might forgo the backfeed if this creates too many headaches...
