I have the overkill BMS as well, I was attempting a a capacity test but can barley hit 28v without certain cells hitting their limit. I wouldn't cycle 20-28.8v normally. Thanks for confirming you were able to reach 28.8v

For daily use I will probably hang between 3-3.4v per cell. I made this chart to give me an idea where I am percentage wise. Granted its not totally accurate, but it gives me a general idea where I'm at.

Appreciate the time, the cells on my A123 recover very quickly to 5-10mV delta. Although near the bottom and top I’ve seen them hit a 300mV delta. At that point I’ll cut off any load or charge and let the BMS balance

Thanks for the insight. So you would stop the capacity test when only one cell hits 2.5v ? I’m curious what mV delta you would deem acceptable for good cells at that point

Sorry I shouldn’t be using that term, I’m a noob. I just want to see it hit 20v and remain in balance. At this point that is not happening.

True, I'm thinking if I top balance I will then be able to run a capacity test without bottom balancing. I'm on the road so we see how that works when I get home to my adjustable CC DC charger

Thank you for sharing. If you can hit 28.8v with ease then dropping them to 20v should be no problem. Obviously this should only be done once to test capacity, as going from 0 to 100% everyday would be a quick way to kill the batteries. I know you got the plug and plug version but that should...

@elusha2 I just posted about the same problem with my A123 battery from BB. Please feel free comment, I found 2 other posts where people had the same issue. I'm out of the 30 day warranty but I'm definitely going to give them a call monday. Hopefully we can come to a conclusion

This has already been discussed on the forum. I see some people were able to receive replacements from BigBattery but unfortunately I'm past 30 days. I regret not doing more testing when I first received the battery. I have now confirmed, I'm not able to reach the specifications of 20-28.8v...

@Benaranguren any update on reaching 20v-28.8v? I’m having the same issue and I’m considering opening it up to bottom balance and top balance the cells individually

@johnnyding I’m having the same problem as @apocalypseINparadise . Can you confirm you were able to hit 20v-28.8v? I have cells hitting the upper and lower limit no matter what balancing settings I configure
