Wouldn’t be any mc4 with an inline fuse larger than 15a some are 10a. After the combiner or disconnect it needs to be in conduit and you can’t put PV wire in a conduit.

I’ve sourced all of my components from Temu using the “claim credit” offers. These offers are spend $280 get $180 back. Or the equivalence with different amounts. This is the highest one. So I was able to buy my $325 home sink 12 V 314AH batteries for well under $325 by receiving a $180 rebate...

Hell just install it. If you built a homemade radio and it short-circuited and caught your home on fire you would still be covered. The radio was never inspected. So why wouldn’t you be covered for Solar. However I suspect if your insurance company were to drive by and noticed that you had solar...

Hi, I was sizing wires for the arrays and to achieve a 2% (mathematically) voltage loss was going to require 6 awg wire (2500w with low voltage of around 90). Well my engineer mind kicked in and said this is utterly ridiculous. It’s not possible for me to have lowest voltage and highest current...

That’s a fair point. Thanks I will add a center support.

It is treated lumber sourced from 84 lumber to ensure that it was quality it’s not Lowes crap

Additionally since the lumber is treated with a copper treatment I have installed EPDM separation washers under all the aluminum solar panels. Nowhere in my system do I have stainless steel or copper in contact with aluminum with the exception of the mounting lugs for the ground wire of the...
  • Post in thread: Victron reporting 100% SOC but MPPT in bulk?

I’m new and I have Humsienk cheap Chinese batteries (i’ve been getting them on Temu with special discounts for between $150 and $230 for a 12 V 314 amp hour mini). So the other day my inverter kept shutting off and my charge controller said my batteries were full. When I turned the inverter on...

Yes they absolutely do Lowes does not inspect their wood anywhere near the quality of 84 lumber. A very simple Google search will show you that Home Depot and Lowes wood is crap. I used it on my deck never again I had at least five boards rot within five years even with stain being applied.

yes vmp is 18.2 5s4p configuration to match maximum controller input of 160x0.8=128v. VOC puts me about 118 but the example showed using short circuit current with average voltage not maximum voltage with maximum current. Which if we think about it these (low voltage and high current) will never...

Glad to hear this. Because every place I looked it said I wanted less than 2% voltage drop. As I pointed out the way they have you calculate it you way way way oversize your wiring system like the previous guy that said I’m needed minimum 8AWG wire. That’s sizing based on voltage drop. That...

    Probably wouldn’t have been a 4v difference if I did. 😂🤭

Thanks! I was talking through grounding plans with my dad (electrician turn electrical engineer) and he explained why I should do it the way I said I planned to. I appreciate the whys!!!!
