Parallel LFP batteries drop voltage during absorbtion, what causes this?

Set your charger to 50.8V bulk, absorb and float and set LVCO for 44.8V. Make sure you're not charging with more than 50A per battery. That is what was recommended to me by BB. You can try floating lower. If the cells are out of balance the BMS balancing is very slow and floating at 48.7...

Parallel LFP batteries drop voltage during absorbtion, what causes this?

If the voltage on the display is jumping around during charging it sounds like the cell(s) are out of balance. I had a similar issue though the battery would charge to a point. It would hit the high voltage cutoff early as a result, and many of the cells were left uncharged. I had tried doing...

Magnum PT-100 faults during sub zero temps

We've had a cold snap come through this week. Got down to -10F and -5F the past two nights. I woke up to check the equipment in the shed and saw the PT-100 had F02 fault on cold night 1, and last night was F08 fault. Both times it recovered by following the instructions in the manual to reset...

Going from flooded to LiFePO4….. And upgrading…..

LFP batteries will charge with any current coming into them. My 48v LFP batteries ran in parallel can accept 1-100A current with suggested charge current of 50A though I believe the C rate is a bit higher running them in parallel. With 3 batteries in the bank they generally don't see more than...

    BigBattery.com 48V LAMA - LiFePO4-115Ah-5.3kWh

I was able to get 2 Llama's warrantied. One seemed to have been out of balance and the other had an issue with BMS overheating to the point of smoking. It took about 5 weeks to get the repaired batteries back. I charged each battery up to 50.3v and hooked them up in parallel with my one...

    Off grid internet

Our starlink has been hooked up to a kill-a-watt since we got it. Its a gen 2 model with a rectangle dish. It has been in temps as low as 0F and had 6" of snow on it. An average power draw of 67.22w. This power supplies a heater, dish, and Wi-Fi router. Ive not checked the draw on a...

Parallel LFP batteries drop voltage during absorbtion, what causes this?

I received my returned Llamas from big battery last week. I unboxed them yesterday. Both batteries look in good condition. These appear to be the batteries I sent back as one of the small phillips screws are still stripped in the head like when I returned it. The batteries have labels and...

    Off grid internet

I was getting between 0.5Mbit and 6Mbit using my phone and a cellular booster (4-5 bars), without a booster it's closer to 0-2 bars). Connectivity depends on where you live and what sort of signals are available. At our elevation, line of sight to towers is non-existent so we're just skimming...

    Off grid internet

We are online today with starlink. If you can afford it, I also suggest to put in your deposit. It took us 8 months and I hear it's first come first served. Random speed test result of 256Mbit down, 43Mbit up, latency 22ms, jitter 8ms We live in a canyon with no overhead obstructions. I...

Parallel LFP batteries drop voltage during absorbtion, what causes this?

Ever since I started emailing BB through my non yahoo email account I've been getting better correspondence. Both batteries were carefully packaged up and secured on a pallet. Pickup was scheduled for this past Monday but they didnt get picked up until Thursday (due to our location and the...

Parallel LFP batteries drop voltage during absorbtion, what causes this?

Finally getting the ball rolling on RMA for my 2 batteries. Communication has been difficult but helpful when it happens. They require me to re-box the batteries and ratchet tie them to a pallet. They arrange the freight pickup which I have to pay, they do the repair and replacement and pay...

Parallel LFP batteries drop voltage during absorbtion, what causes this?

Ive not discharged the one battery down that low but I did discharge all 3 in parallel to 43.0V at one point as they had that voltage recommended on the parameter sheet online when the batteries were bought. Now they have it listed at 44.8V for 80% DoD. I have no doubt this 1 Llama is within...

Parallel LFP batteries drop voltage during absorbtion, what causes this?

I should have stated that the 44.8v, I have set in my charger/inverter (LBCO), not from the BMS. I misspoke with LVCO.

Parallel LFP batteries drop voltage during absorbtion, what causes this?

No idea whats going on with your battery, sounds like weak cells or out of balance?. I have 1 of 3 that's close to spec. 44.8v cutoff gave me 91AH discharge It has a bit of weird activity when it gets to the top of charge but eventually balances out and tapers the current as it should...

Can I top balance and build my battery in a cold room ?

The battery spec sheet should provide the temp range for charging. You can also consider insulating the batteries to keep them more on the warmer side as 35F is getting cold for charging some chemistries.
