Mine does. But yeah on a good sunny day it works fine but in low light condition if there is a lot of fluctuation on sunlight the charger turns on, off, so I prefer to charge the batteries during nice days.

Makes sense a good power supply will do the job possibly better since you cut loses some. I have a victron 12/24v 30 amps, and an Aims 36-48v 40 amps (got 2 banks36v and 48v) and if there is a need where the sun don't shine good I use them, also during capacity tests, and a few other tasks.
