I just got a Rich 100 Watt solar panel and the tested VOC reads higher than the label. Label say 22.8, volt meter say 33.1. Should I be concerned? Should I use the label or the actual reading when determining voltage for my MPPT?
I wondered about that when I first set this up. These older renogy solar panels have a VOC of 21.6 volts X 4 = total of 86.4 V. I figured this was ok. I lived in the Mojave Desert and I kept an eye on the voltage, it never got near that. Now I'm setting them up in the Oregon sunless winter and...
I have two older (2021) Renogy 12V 100Ah batteries that I have used in parallel. I want to add two more 12V 100Ah batteries to the bank. I am unsure whether to buy two LiTime Group 24 (about the same size), or the Renogy mini core (which is a different physical size but cheaper this week) ...
Thank you. I have checked out wiring info and decided to go with a busbar setup with each battery positive going to a busbar with same size and gauge cables, and the same for the negative, since i am changing from two batteries similar aged batteries to four unevenly aged ones.
On Will’s new video, he over Powers a rich solar MPPT 20 amp. I have a Renogy 30 amp MPPT where is 400 W attached. I was wondering if I can feel comfortable adding another hundred watts to it. The voltage should still be below 100 V DC. It doesn’t seem like it’s going to max anything out unless...
My renogy rover MPPT has been showing my 12v 100a has a maximum battery voltage of 24.8. This is an intermittent issue. Most of the time everything is fine but there are a moments when the rover blinks and the error code says battery overcharge. But moments later its back to normal. Sometimes...
