REPT 280AH Cells from Exliporc - Making 48v 560AH Battery

They also sent me replacements when some of mine were damaged, but the replacements were also damaged! They use insufficient packing to ship these cells - very thin cardboard. In my case a lot of the boxes had holes on the top where the welded terminal screws had punched through. A lot of my...

Growatt 12kw Off Grid wiring and inverter settings.

Ever get the datalogger figured out? This thing is ridiculous. I can get it to connect and in some parts of the app it says it's connected but doesn't give any data. Then when I check online it says the datalogger is "discharged". What the heck does that mean???

REPT 280AH Cells from Exliporc - Making 48v 560AH Battery

Yeah, my concern with plywood is that it's flammable. Not that it should be getting hot enough to start a fire, but I've had some close calls before with some faulty fuses (always use a UL rated fuse). My concern with using metal is having some kind of accidental contact with the metal and the...

REPT 280AH Cells from Exliporc - Making 48v 560AH Battery

Mine were damaged, but didn't seem swollen. I'm using ratchet straps for compression to keep them from swelling. What are others using? Think ratchet straps will work ok?

REPT 280AH Cells from Exliporc - Making 48v 560AH Battery

Update: So far Exliporc is being helpful and is replacing the missing cells and the damaged cells. They say the replacements should get to me next week or soon after, so I appreciate the speed with which they are moving and the fact that they haven't tried to avoid sending replacements.

REPT 280AH Cells from Exliporc - Making 48v 560AH Battery

My cells finally arrived, all except one box. So I'm missing 4 cells. To their credit Exliporc has agreed to overnight me 4 new ones. But I just discovered last night that 4 of the cells are damaged. Generally the cells have tested at proper voltage and seem well made, but 4 are dented...

Looking for a BMS that won't limit my charging or output

The solution I eventually came up with was the Chargery BMS, with their newish 600 amp DC Contactor. Given my 48v 560 AH battery, this gives me 240 x 120v AC amps, and closely matches the surge capacity of my inverter, and a 1C rating of my battery. Should be able to run several mini split ACs...

REPT 280AH Cells from Exliporc - Making 48v 560AH Battery

I'm getting extremely impatient. Ordered my 32 REPT cells from Exliporc on April 5, 2021. They shipped late but Exliporc told me they arrived in port June 5 and would take about a week to clear customs. Then a week later she told me it's cleared customs but just waiting for UPS to pick it up...

Scream Power LIFEPO4 Battery Won't Hold Above 14v Charge

Yeah, it's a weird power connection. Used to charge off 120v power. The charger that came with it showed up broken anyway. But never really intended to use it. Not much a use case for me to charge my battery with a 120v charger when I'm using the battery for my 120v power. Power button only...

Scream Power LIFEPO4 Battery Won't Hold Above 14v Charge

The white plastic is a spray foam. It is thick in some areas and can be tough to get through, but fortunately the battery is wrapped in a heat resistant tape, so the spray foam breaks off when you remove that tape. I used an oscillating saw to cut the case open and it also came in handy for...

Scream Power LIFEPO4 Battery Won't Hold Above 14v Charge

Yeah, I wish I had all this information before I bought it. I may have actually still bought it, given its low price in comparison to some other brands, but great to be informed. I'm mostly disappointed with how they attach the wires to the terminals. That was my point of failure. Also...

Scream Power LIFEPO4 Battery Won't Hold Above 14v Charge

Wow that's a mess and hard to understand. They need to start rating batteries by watt hours, and standardizing discharge rates.

Scream Power LIFEPO4 Battery Won't Hold Above 14v Charge

Hard to see from this photo, but the red wires connection is peeling up. The wires are soldered to a small piece of sheet metal, and then that sheet metal is laser welded at the top and bottom edges to the terminal. Nothing connects the rest of the bottom of that sheet metal to the terminal, so...

Scream Power LIFEPO4 Battery Won't Hold Above 14v Charge

I opened up the battery so I could see the posts and found that the main wires had been basically taped on. One of the positive wires was falling off. I soldered it to the terminal for a short term fix, but can solder handle Temps caused by up to 320 amps? Is there a better way to attach this to...
