    DIY 'Chargenectifier'

How much battery capacity do you have to be able to charge at 36kw! And what supplies that on the AC side, grid? I like the look of that rack, looks like it might also leave a small gap between the chargers, possibly a good idea if your running multiples for heat dissipation. I think some form...

    DIY 'Chargenectifier'

Just a little update, upgraded my generator to a 3 cyl Kubota 7kw unit salvaged from an ex army lighting tower. Gave it a good cleanup and service and build an autostart control panel for it. Figured I might aswell make use of the increased power output and get a second AC charger from the...

    Victron Multiplus 2 buzz

Has anyone experienced a vibration/buzzing from (I think) the small coil winding within the Multiplus II? I don't recall it making this noise before, and it's very sensitive to just tapping even the outer casing of the unit slightly. And no it's not the main transformer making the nose! All...

    Victron Charge Controller Price Crash

Shh, we don't talk about the chit chat section around these parts.. it'll scare away the new members ?

    Thanks to all

Many times I've also expanded to the "engineer's floor" when the bench just doesn't quite cut it, same concept, just harder to navigate ?

Is victron a great company with great products or are they just like microsoft and the defacto brand leaders?

Victron and Renogy should never be used in any sort of close comparison, there is quite literally, a difference of night and day. One is decades of engineering and constant monitoring and updating, and one is relabeled AliExpress Chinese.. "products" (to put it nicely) with a massive markup on...

    Unistrut panel mounting without gaps?

Here I'm paying around £13 ($15) for a 3m 10ft length of the stuff I'm using, but it's 90% leftover stuff most of the time. I wouldn't even waste my time with wood with how long the pressure treated stuff lasts nowerdays.

    Unistrut panel mounting without gaps?

Price dependent on location I guess. I don't see a massive difference here between uni and ally solar mount. I guess uni still comes in a little cheaper, I just happened to have a lot of it. I do think it offers more structural stability too though, which is why I used it on my ground mount...

    Unistrut panel mounting without gaps?

Depending on the panel they tend to want to be fixed from the sides, although a mount from top to bottom may be possible its not very common. Standard aluminium solar panel clamps are more than adequate, they are somewhat ribbed and when tightened down, they don't move, no matter what. This is...

I’d like to understand how this is ok

Only kidding, not very often I have to use the words I'm and wrong together, I swear ?

Sounds kinda dumb. Alright you win, I'm wrong. Ouch.

I’d like to understand how this is ok

Maybe I interoperate what they say a little differently, not that I should think about it too much though, I don't even have a DC ground cable ?

I’d like to understand how this is ok

Just quoting what Victron says.. If they feel the cable should be sized for the DC fuse, then I reckon the connection should be better too, albeit I understand there's not going to be any current passed in normal operation. Well I'm not sure in what situation it would ever pass current.. but it...

I’d like to understand how this is ok

Yes but... "The DC ground cabling should have a sufficient thickness to be able to carry a fault current at least equal to the DC fuse rating" Still don't like a poor connection
