Thomas Massie posted the 30% goes away for the consumer but the subsidies stay for corporations. If they are going to go, they need to go for everyone. We can't be half in and half out on capitalism and free market principles.
They don't need to rely on the US cellular network to communicate. They could use a direct to satellite. This was this concern with Huawei using Beidou short messaging. Iridium 9603 was the smallest module available.

They were $88 during Black Friday. I use them on all my ground mounts. They survived two 60mph+ storms with little issue. The bolts at the top of the legs do not bite the best and allow some movement. During those storms they shifted about 1/4” forward. Diagonal tensioning wire could probably...
We got one like that in Mid-Atlantic in 1994. We were without electric for two weeks. Good thing I always remember dad saying to keep a kerosene heater for back up when the electric goes out. We set it up in the living room and all slept in there. We cooked on it and the grill. It doesn't...
Did some more digging,
I don't see a correlation with my data and your theory. Most faults, the voltage stayed them same. From looking at the charts, it appears it may be tied with the PV array. It seems the PV array spikes in voltage each time the inverter kicks out (see highlighted below)...
I think we need to look at history. Many countries have done this with Germany the one that is probably the most highlighted. America is service industry heavy and much of our wealth is exported while we do not create much new wealth due to the lack of manufacturing. This has caused an uptick...
I’m starting to question all the paid YouTube guys who put it under loads but not much long term testing is done or if it is, maybe not being reported on.
EG4 did upload the test firmware to my inverter so I will test it tomorrow. I’ve had it on since about 3pm without issue. However, my...
Actually looking at the report, I'm tripping a lot more than I realized. It looks like I tripped not too long ago running my shop only at 78W. That's the period I hit 100% SOC on the battery.
15:22 yesterday is when I called for battery when it was at 100% SOC (no solar at this period)...
Some of that is government regulation with all the emissions crap they have to stuff in there plus all the computer crap to keep it efficient. However, some of it is corporate greed. Things are made so complicated that they take special tools to work on just so you have to take it to the...
China weaponizes currency right back. Service doesn't create wealth. It only transfers hands. Manufacturing creates wealth when you take something from a raw material and actually make it into a useable good. China is taking our wealth. We have little left and are buying most on credit that...
This does appear to be working so far. I haven't had any overload errors. I reached 100% SOC this morning and everything seems to have made the transition smoothly without issue.
Is EG4 able to share what the issue was that was causing the error?
I have a Mr. Cool mini-split and it's been 15F and still had heat without issue. My central air heat pumps in other houses always went to emergency heat when they hit 40F. They were electric back-up heat and you just gave the power company an IV to your bank account.
So eg4tech gave me a few changes to make in settings on lead-acid. I changed equalization voltage to 55V and period to 0. One suggestion was change the Discharge cutoff voltage to 48V. However, if you change it above 42V you get an error. Something seems off.
I ran it this morning with part...
Mattb: I did but it seems like a lot more work, and a lot more money to do so. It was also more invasive with putting all the equipment in a very small pantry.
Sergio: The so-so days, I will flip back from the grid.
I understand I can pass through with an inverter. However, my home (where the main breaker panel is) is small and is all shaded. I have to put my panels and house all the hardware in my barn. I already have a generator hookup in a subpanel with a line run from the barn to the house. I felt...
I set mine last night. We are in a period of no sun so it will take awhile for me to replicate the overload scenario on my system, but I will let everyone know.
These are mostly for meat birds who don’t roost. They have to be moved often so they don’t sit in their own filth if you pasture raise them. We move ours twice a day by hand. The best meat birds breed gets to a point where they can barely move so a UTV is hard to control the speed. You will...
Well I was thinking it was spikes in PV Voltage that put the EPS in overload but now with the recent overloads, I'm not too sure. It seems to be worse today. It was rainy yesterday but today the clouds are moving out and the sun makes a guest appearance every once in awhile. I think I'm...
This was the fight farmers gave Governor Carney in Delaware at the time before they ignored the citizens by plowing forward with the EV mandate. We use a $5k 1 ton truck in the field and on the road for farm purposes. I can't imagine having to replace my entire fleet of cheap cars with EV in...
To make you second guess your investment and life choices....As soon as you put them up you get rain and lots of consecutive cloudy days with poor production. Murphy's Law at it's best.
I think the lobbyist go state to state. Delaware got the anti-solar bill around the same time. They allowed natural gas to become a "renewable" energy which took Delmarva Power out of the SREC market after they built a natural gas power plant as they no longer needed the credits. Soon after...
The Smart Load can be wired so the power can be metered. The way I see it works is say you have an electric car, you can set it to charge during a certain time like when PV is the highest or electric is the cheapest. It will charge during that time you select. You could also set kWh and SOC...
Yes, I had the same thoughts as you. Another question would be if you added their expansion batteries, would the 4000W charge rate on the battery increase to max allowable of almost 8000W? It appears you can add 5kw battery packs up to 30kw per power station. If you're maxed at 4000W solar...
Haha, we get exemption for powering the "ag barn" with solar.
You need a structural engineer. You can try a freelance engineer or look online for a structural engineer locally. It is probably going to cost you more than your structure itself so I'd pass it off as a livestock shed.
That doesn't make sense on my two errors on 12/15 at 9:48 and 13:23. My SOC was 100%. I was also able to cover my loads with PV as I covered the 177W and 195W at start up. I do agree there is an issue with transitioning PV when state of charge hits 100%.
You do what Trump has been hinting at doing which is create a scenario in which countries need to negotiate with you because their economy is reliant on you. As part of the deal, you go after mineral rights in their country. You also open some of our mineral rights up in our own country...
According to Jackery's manual, on page 12, it appears Low-PV and High-PV can be used at the same time (link below). I also do not see where they are maxed out at 4,000W input from PV. You may want to call or email them...
Not sure he was correct. Looks like $3700 (link below) 👀 versus $1400 for the 6000xp. Looks like the 12KPV is shipping out in Mid Oct. Missed opportunity IMO. I agree with everyone on redundancy...
My error was a little different.
Friday night-fired the system up. I did the firmware update Friday night.
1-12000XP
2-EG4 Wall Batteries
24- Vikram 385W Bifacial (3 strings of 8)
12- Ecoworthy 200W Bifacial (1 string)
Off-grid
Saturday spent most of the day topping off the batteries. I...
Sadly, I pulled mine off line. I have livestock fences with chargers trying to keep pigs contained and freezers full off thousands of dollars of meat from our farm. Unfortunately, I can't risk a 15 minute shut down and multiple shutdowns as I've seen today. 😵💫 Hopefully there is a resolution...
Here we wouldn’t consider that a fixed structure which wouldn’t require a permit as it can be moved (rerun the wire of course). This is why I don’t permanently install my livestock buildings. They all go on sleds. Saves a little on taxes even though farmers get somewhat of a break on ag structures.
I saw on Rep. Thomas Massie's Instagram that he built an auto moving chicken tractor (link to invention below). I believe this is his invention. I own a farm and raise meat chickens similar to Rep. Massie. This seems to be a decent idea to eliminate the physical labor of moving the coops twice...
I'm looking to build an off-grid system to power our house and farm. My power company does not allow solar to be connected to the grid so we have no choice but to go completely off-grid. I currently have a sub panel with generator hook up in our barn just off the house. It back feeds my main...
I've been kicking the NHX but my concern with Watts is Ian seems to be a one man show. If something God forbid happens to him, is the business still viable?
My understanding is you would hook the 50 amp generator inlet box to the 12000xp at the generator input terminal. You can set the parameters of the generator. The AIO should choose how to best use the generator power. I wouldn’t hook the inverter and generator to your service panel through...
I've been having light flickering with mine lately but haven't done firmware update. It was just with A/C startup but I noticed a slight flickering with all lights last night.
Also, has anyone had issues with the EG4 Monitoring Site? Mine is not loading images properly. I've tried it on...
I had thermal heating in a concrete slab and didn't like it. It takes too long to heat the space and change the room temperature. Once you get it right it's great heat but you needed backup heat. If you needed to cool the space down, you had to open windows. I prefer a wood stove. A masonry...
The stress I'm referring to is the internal "safety switch" being triggered on and off constantly when it's stuck between coming online and overload error. It continues to switch on and off until the battery reaches 100% SOC. There also has to be an affect on appliances connected to the supply.
I would assume 4000W will charge batteries in 1.7hrs. They probably suggest that to be conservative so you don’t over tax the controller. Again call them and let us know what you find out.
Reading the thread it doesn’t appear there is positive feedback on price increases. Tough increases to swallow when 12000xp product release was a bit of a flop.
What’s the discount for being a beta tester?
If you check the forum, there are many post about BatteryEvo using used batteries. There's also a reason you can't find reviews on their equipment anywhere including YouTube. Quality would be a huge question. You'd be the $6k guinea pig.
EcoFlow would be the opposite. However, the batteries...
I have 200A service. Signature Solar first stated 4 6000XP's but then came back with the 18kw inverter. I haven't been impressed with the sales team. I can imagine what the support looks like.
I was planning to start with 30kwh and at least 10kw of panels.
What is your goal when the electric goes down? Are you looking to power the entire house? If so, what is your total usage? Even with a gas furnace, mine still uses around 1000W to start and 500W to run the blower continuously.
