    I ended up just connecting both panels/charge controllers to the battery via separate SAE ports and that seems to have resolved the problem. Not ideal considering I need to carry multiple solar cables, but I suppose it is what it is.

    Thanks for the information. I am going to get rid of the existing Zamp SAE port which has small gauge wire and replace it with a 10AWG version of the same thing (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PFGHK5B/) which can be fused to 30A and I think that should be sufficient.
